- Test of Time: The Desolation has endured the test of time again and again. Its service beginning in the Zakuul War marks it as perhaps the oldest active warship in the galaxy.
- Bristle: The Desolation is a vessel of war, and its armaments are sufficient to lay waste to some minor fleets on its own.
- Impenetrable: While certainly not invulnerable, the Desolation is the next best thing.
- EWAR System: The inclusion of a Loki EWAR system leaves the Desolation in prime position to fend off electronic attacks.
- Multi-Bridge Approach: Already a trick in Voph's arsenal, the twin bridge design was cemented after the destruction of the Resolve's flight bridge during the Battle of Tanaab.
- Molecular Shields: Incoming energy fire is absorbed to power internal systems.
- Crystal GravField: The Desolation is capable of spotting any ship within 300 Meters
- Shatterpoint: The Hull is rated for extreme kinetic barrages, but concentrated fire will eventually shatter the Impervium Armor.
- Burnout Special: The shield can only absorb so much energy before it overloads. While there are methods to dissipate energy quickly, enough fire in a small window will cause the shield to overload.
- Sluggish: As per usual, Voph traded agility for firepower.
- Hangers: The Hangers are a weakpoint, and starfighters are vulnerable when launching or landing.
- Isotope-5 Core: The ship's Iso-5 core, if ruptured, could cause catastrophic damage to the ship.
It began with Taerab. The machines of War designed for the Empire. One such vessel, the Iron Fist, served a bland and predictable career. Under the command of a young and headstrong "Darth," the Iron Fist was hardly a vessel worth remembering. Even after the vessel passed into the hands of an older, more capable Darth, its memorability was negligible. But, it was, by fate, selected as the elder Darth's flagship, and sent to drydock for upgrades.
The years that followed were long and cruel. The Iron Fist was quickly elevated, as it became one of few ships that could stand against the might of the invading Zakuul Empire. Her Isotope Core pushed the ship beyond the limitations of her brethren and allowing it to endure far past its expiration. In the days after the war, the Iron Fist was officially granted a new title. One that the crew had bestowed upon it during the War. Desolation.
Though its commander would soon pass from thought and time, the Desolation endured, lying dormant in an asteroid field near Ilum on the edge of the Unknown Regions. Now, thousands of years later, its captain has returned. Pulled from the depths of obscurity, the ship was modernized at the behest of her captain, but soon passed over in favor of larger, more impressive vessels. But one does not forsake a home so easily. So Voph once again enlisted the help of Locke and Key Mechanics. The New Mandalorian War had taken its toll on Voph. And it was time for him to prepare for what might come next. The Desolation was rebuilt. Improved. Reforged. Today it stands as the most advanced warship in the Vylmiran Fleet, even before her commander sets foot aboard the vessel...
