The Diarchs
Reign and Rellik
The Diarchs, Reign and Rellik, were not born into opulence, but rather obscurity on the war-scarred world of Taris. Their father, Darth Kakus, a figure shrouded in controversy even after his disappearance, sought to shield them from the rampant chaos of the galaxy. He believed that only through rigorous training and a deeply ingrained understanding of the Force, both its light and dark aspects, could they truly bring order to the galaxy.
Life on Taris was harsh and secretive. Kakus, though a Sith, instilled in his sons a balanced view of the Force, believing that it was simply a tool, a gift from the Whills to be wielded with wisdom and control. Reign, the elder and physically more imposing, was honed into a warrior. He was taught to lead, to inspire confidence, and command loyalty. He excelled in martial arts, strategy, and diplomacy, all skills essential for a ruler. Any failure in training was met with harsh punishment.
Rellik, on the other hand, was sheltered in a way, though not from the rigors of study. Kakus filled his son's mind with knowledge, immersing him in ancient Sith texts, alchemical formulas, and forbidden sciences. He believed that Rellik's intellect and Force sensitivity were keys to unlocking secrets that could pave the way for their grand plan. While Reign learned on training dummies, Rellik learned within the confines of their limited home how to fight with the knowledge in the library and how to use the force to aid in his endeavors. Even the "quirks" in his personality some would see as a sign of madness or strange behavior would be met with his father's displeasure. As Kakus knew that those who could follow him needed to have no such weaknesses.
The brothers complemented each other perfectly. Reign, the charismatic warrior, would be the fist of the Diarchy, while Rellik, the brilliant scholar, would be its mind. Kakus drilled into them the importance of their bond, emphasizing that their combined strength was far greater than the sum of their parts. Their training, though rigorous and often brutal, forged an unbreakable bond between the two brothers, a bond that would become the bedrock of their Diarchy.
When Kakus disappeared, leaving only whispers and unanswered questions, the brothers faced a galaxy far more complex than the one they had been prepared for on Taris. Using the resources their father had hidden away, they left Taris and eventually began their grand scheme.
Diarch Reign - The Iron Fist
Reign embodies the image of the warrior-king. Tall and powerfully built, his presence commands attention. A natural leader, he possesses a disarming charm that often masks a ruthless pragmatism. He is the public face of the Diarchy, seen leading troops on the battlefield, negotiating treaties with wary leaders, and addressing crowds of cheering citizens. He is married with two children, and his familial bond is a source of strength and inspiration. He is fiercely protective of his family, especially Rellik, whom he sees as both his brother and his equal partner.
Reign is known for his fair but firm rule, always prioritizing the well-being of his people. His quick temper can erupt when he feels that the greater good is threatened but he is able to cool down and see all the variables at hand. He believes in direct contact with his citizens, regularly walking among them and participating in open forums where anyone can voice their grievances. He is kind to those under his protection but utterly merciless to those who stand against him.
Diarch Rellik - The Balancing Force
In stark contrast to his brother, Rellik is more reserved and intellectual. His upbringing on Taris was focused on scholarly pursuits, shaping him into a brilliant strategist, scientist, and manipulator. He oversees the Diarchy's intelligence networks, scientific research facilities, and underworld operations.
Driven by a desire to continue his father's unfinished work and understand the circumstances of his disappearance, Rellik pours over ancient texts and Holocrons, delving into forbidden knowledge. This has led to eccentric behavior and occasional outbursts of what some perceive as madness.
Beneath his eccentricities, Rellik is a compassionate man. He is fiercely loyal to his brother and deeply cares about the people of the Diarchy. He believes in the power of knowledge and seeks to create a society where science and the Force can be harnessed for the benefit of all. As the brothers lead their ever growing empire they will need to face problems from the force and others who seek to harm all they hold dear.
