Derisive Umbaran
[[ DOMINION ]]
A small, moon-sized planet hovering around a dim orange sun, most would not expect Apatros to be an important world. Beneath that miserable grey surface and its wretched mining colonies is one of the most sought-after resources in the galaxy- cortosis. The valuable material makes for good armor (personal and starship) regardless of whether you intend to fight someone wielding those plasma-sticks or not. But it's mostly because everyone wants to feel safe from Jedi and Sith that the material is so valuable.
So, naturally, the Techno Union wishes to add this world to its sphere of influence. This will not be easy, as the Outer Rim Oreworks company completely controls the world and has sided with our enemies in the Retail Conglomerate. The Retail Conglomerate is a collection of thousands of retail companies. They are the only corporate opposition in this sector that could be considered a threat. In order to secure the planet fully, the Conglomerate's hold on the world needs to be loosened.
And that will be done by undermining ORO.
Undermining. Get it? Because mining and, you know, stuff. These are the jokes, people.
A: Red Sector A
ORO has divided the planet into into sectors. Each sector has a maximum of twenty-four divisions. Red Sectors are the designated penal colonies for ORO. It's here that anyone who violates any of ORO's ridiculous "employee conduct policies" ends up. Red Sectors are mining areas just like the Purple Sectors. The only difference is that their living standards are much more sub-par and the place is usually flooded with ORO enforcers.
Red Sector A is the largest and most highly fortified of the Red Sectors. All of ORO's corrupt administrators and bureaucrats get sent here, in addition to miners who have led revolts and the more violent sort of scumbags. We're going to need the help of the former administrators if we want to run this system without it costing us much. Seize control of the penal colony by any means, find the prisoner records, and start screening out those who have the skills needed to run this planet once we've taken control.
Oh, and if you find anyone with a history of leading insurrections against ORO (or just have a selectivist lean), kill them immediately.
B: Green Sector H
Green Sectors are the smallest and less frequent. These are ORO's administration centers. The majority shareholder of ORO has his office in the sector's central command structure. He goes by the name of Wilmont, because his native Quarren name is not pronounceable by our inefficient human mouth-flaps. Our SpyNet operatives have informed us that we could potentially blackmail Wilmont into breaking ties with the Retail Conglomerate and turning over all of Apatros' mining operations to the Techno Union. All you need to do is infiltrate the central command structure (quietly), break into his office, slice into his computer, and find something blackmail worthy.
We're a bit iffy on the details, but I'm told that whatever he's got going on involves spice trading and Mon Calamari hookers. Male Mon Calamari hookers. Which is especially exciting given Wilmont's marital status (to his wife for thirty years) and his anti-spice philanthropy.
C: Purple Sector Q
Purple Sectors are the most frequently occurring. This is where all the mining takes place. Frankly, Outer RIm Oreworks does not have a legal right to most of these mines. As a result, they hardly have a legal right to most of the cortosis they pump out. It's high time they recognized this. Purple Sector Q isn't the most productive mine, but it is the most heavily fortified. That's why we're going to sack the place and steal all of their cortosis shipments. It's less about the cortosis and more about the message we send by reducing their most fortified plant to rubble.
Of course, since this isn't their most productive plant, it raises questions over why they would fortify it. We have tenuous reports that the Yuuzhan-Vong may be collaborating with ORO, perhaps in a bid to engineer something to keep the Techno Union off of the planet. Makes sense, as we're told some upper-level bureaucrats might have connections with the Peace Brigade. Yeah, those pleasant folks.
Anyway, sack the facility. Steal the cortosis crates. Use it for your knick-knacks.
