The drunken winner!

Life is tough and that is a given. You will be glorious one moment, but could be shoved back down in a mere second. You could get in hell and all the way back if you have the will to live and rise up for the challenge. Emilia was a great bright girl for her age, but the moment her parents had deceased, it was going downhill and quick. The Credits didn't come in her pocket anymore and through the year, Emilia lost more and more; her parents, her stuff and later on they changed the lock of the house.

The local authorities found it strange that she almost vanished of the map, not being able to find a girl that age with her friends or at her school. She did not have the time for that. She needed credits and a lot of it to make a living. She had to start begging on the streets in order to get a few credits within her pocket. It was humiliating, but she had to get food within her mouth without getting herself in too much trouble. She did not want to go local authorities, since she would be placed in an orphanage at her age. Sometimes begging was not enough, she had to participate in a certain challenge for a bit of -extra- credits. She found a dark group of people that wanted her to come to the bar and have a drinking challenge. They just liked drinking and did not care about the future for a young girl. They gave her after all just a few cents worth of credits extra for having participated and they nearly called out for her every single day, but one day a politics competition had started and she send her entire script and in a few months at the bar she usually had to drink she got her letter. She had actually won with the left over credits and a bit extra of the last drinking challenge she was able to sneak past certain parts and get with vehicles to the Chandrila Datatech to get her credits.

When the girl finally had arrived at Chandrila Datatech. It would've been felt by the CEO that someone new had arrived at her company. A weak source, but it seemed to have the ability to have a connection with the force. She looked at the large and advanced looking building before heading inside to the lobby and went to the reception in order to sign her in.The person behind the reception had a look at the girl and thought this might've been a joke. Emilia handed all papers that she was really the winner of the politics contest, but truth there was a truth to be told about her. Nobody would want a representative as she was, not like she was now. The way she dressed was almost as a beggar. Her clothes were getting dirty, but weren't yet ripped up. Her smell was like lake water and maybe the worst of all was that she wasn't even sober. She had to lean on the reception desk in order to remain standing.

One thing was the harsh truth, if she was send away it was her own damn fault, but it couldn't get any worse than it had already been for her it could only get better.

"Miss Drey, the winner of the politics has arrived, but she doesn't exactly look up for talking. What I want to say is, she has been drinking and not a little glass it seems."

The girl sat down in a waiting chair and was spinning her head. She was really not sober at all.

For the past eight years, Chandrila DataTech had been cultivating the best and brightest youths on Chandrila. From the vibrancy of Hanna City to the rural towns of Emita and Nayli, students- ranging from thirteen up to their early twenties- had found themselves on the receiving end of an invitation that would change their lives forever. Of course, these people who were granted funding for their scholarships or studies were extremely intelligent. Most spent a summer away from Chandrila, on a distant moon known as Sojourn, to get to know their benefactor and what would be expected of them later on in their careers.

Alicia Drey was on the lookout for the next stand-out politician on Chandrila. She had cornered the agricultural and technological markets on her homeworld, which stood as the main imports and exports on Chandrila. Now, it was time to bring the world into the fold. When she had begun the competition, which were mostly tests whose answers were compared to the criteria Alicia was searching for, she hadn't envisioned the winner to be an alcoholic. It was a reminder what despite the good that Chandrila DataTech and Chandrila Group had done for the world, there were still many who were suffering the effects of the Gulag Plague and the attack performed a year ago, resulting in millions disappearing in an instance.

She did not move to greet Emilia Shields. Instead, she had one of her aides meet with her at the reception, once it had been clarified that she was indeed the winner. Food, water and fresh clothes were provided for Emilia, as well as a shower, before she could meet with the CEO of DataTech. With any hope, the experience would sober her up before she they both met. Or an opportunity might have slipped through the young girls fingers.
