The Exitus Imperium (Interest Check)

(Hello all! I thought of something totally stupid and crazy. I decided that I wanted to see about creating a faction. Yes! Actually, create a faction of my own after a while of being a part of a few. Influenced by a few concepts. I also wanted to create a faction as apart of the aftermath of the Netherworld event, creating a group that originated from the people being flung into the Netherworld all over the Galaxy and even deep into the Void. Fleshing out and taking a new spin on the idea of Force Blanks and Voids in the Force. Also perhaps create something very different and off the wall beside an average Force Using Order. But what if Force Users had a predator. And thus the idea of Voidwalkers started to appear. Beings that had a connection to the Void, an unexplored and not really fleshed out part of the Netherworld that had given those that traveled deep enough gifts. Mixing what they had seen in the Void with once the beings are known as the Sorcerers of Rhand. A new way was born. Now the concept if it could be fleshed out more. Please let me know. And that if you like the idea of a faction like this being a consequence of a popular Chaos event please let me know. Any thoughts I would greatly appreciate but for now, I give you the Exitus Imperium! Excuse me for the lack of art. Not a very flashy photoshop person but I do hope the concept is interesting :) )

Description and History: The Exitus Imperium (Death Empire) Also known as simply the Imperium is a Religious Empire that originated as a small movement circa 845 ABY. What originally began as a group of monks who found enlightenment. the four hundred year darkness brought pain and destruction unlike which none have seen. Struggling to hold on to their ways. The Monks were further shattered in 844 ABY when dimension known as the Netherworld made itself known to the Galaxy. Billions disappeared, some came back changed. Seeing things that no one had seen before. To them, they could only describe it as absolute truth, salvation. A way perhaps granted, power, knowledge. A promised land to which they had missed when they were retched back into the Galaxy. Feeling something unique the individuals that came back were Force Dead. They could find themselves not able to sense what was known as the Force but felt a strange connection to the Netherworld. A hollow feeling to which they could only describe as the Void. The Void changed these individuals, not long after the event, the Monks were eventually approached by the Sorcerers of Rhand. Broken the once peaceful monks shared what they had encountered with the Sorcerers. Mixing with the way of the Dark. Discovering what secrets they could. The Sorcerer's merged with the monks. Founding a new way. They eventually formed into a death cult known as the Followers of the Void.

Hiding in the Shadows as the Sith returned to the known Galaxy, all who felt the call of the Void came to them deep in the Unknown Regions. The Followers of the Void eagerly answered, wishing to unlock what they had all seen and felt within the Netherworld. Ultimately discovering that the Force was not the highest power in the universe. Instead only seeing it as heresy when it came to the salvation offered from the Netherworld. The Netherworld offered salvation, truth, knowledge. The Force to them only brought about Chaos, which had been wrought by the millennia-long conflict of the Jedi and Sith to which they watched unfolding across the Galaxy. One of those that answered the call was the being known as “The Arbiter” The Arbiter a mysterious individual unlocked what the followers could not. Showing and teaching gifts which were abilities and knowledge similar to Force Powers, but were limited as extreme feats that the Force did create could not be made possible by those outside the Netherworld. But those that felt the connection to the Void, could lift objects with a mere thought, increase physical attributes such as strength, speed, and agility. Even using the powers of the Void to consume life in a similar manner to Force Drain and enhance the mind. Unlocking such powers, however, were limited compared to the dreams of reaching the Netherworld where they would be able to unlock their true potential.

With the Arbiter taking control of the Followers and watching as the Galaxy unfolded into Chaos. Seeing the One Sith and Galactic Republic Rise and Fall. The Galaxy tore into Chaos. Even more so with the rise of the First Order and Galactic Alliance. The Galaxy plunged into countless wars culminating in the Galaxy wide Great Galactic War. The Followers of the Void numbering in Hundreds. The Arbiter imbuing weapons such as swords and axes with the power of the Void. A similar effect to which the Void Stones created. Made his followers stronger, as he watched the Galaxy torn by misery and losing direction thanks to the Force. Finding a new found belief the Arbiter planned to bring back the Netherworld into the Galaxy once more. But through a philosophy which he believed could only be achieved through mass death and destruction, for he felt that death was another path to the Netherworld. But he for those living feeling it’s call he wished to bring the portal opened once more and believed that through such death and destruction on a massive scale could it be achieved and they could all reach their so-called promised land.

With the ideas of his plan set in motion, the Followers of the Void soon started to become more, with weapons, ships, armor, and a new found power. They began either conquering or converting anyone that posed a threat. With a single goal in mind. Exterminating half of all life in the Galaxy. Thus the Exitus Imperium was born from the ashes of the Netherworld event.

Society and Structure:

The Exitus Imperium operates a form of Social Stratification. A Caste based system where there are certain purposes. Each one tasked with maintaining a certain part of the Imperium. It is as it follows.

 • The Zealot Caste: The Zealot Caste is the Warriors and Pilots and Officers of the Imperium. They are perhaps one of the most revered in the society. They are believed to hold a special place in the Void for carrying out the holy crusade of bringing forth the Netherworld into the Galaxy once more. Killing all those that dared to defy the Imperium. Those gifted with the power of the Void are well known to serve in either as apart of the Zealots or Justicars

 • The Justicar Caste: The Justicar Caste was in charge of Law Enforcement, and served as a sort of Inquisitorius. They are in charge of upholding the laws that embody the Imperium rooting out Heresy and Corruption within the Imperium and to bring all those that break the laws before the Council of Lords.

 • Servitium Caste: The Servitium were the servants and those that served as too weak of convents to serve the Imperium. Too weak and perhaps too feeble to serve in the other Castes. The Servitium are used as slaves, breeders, and to craft monuments, ships, and weapons. Becoming skilled engineers if they are not fit to be bright minds, or fit for battle.

 • Apparitoris Caste: The Apparitoris Caste served as the diplomats, while seen as just the same as the Servitium Caste, they were known as also serving as agents and known to infiltrate Galactic Governments, to make way for the coming crusade that would purify said governments and convert all those to bring them on the path towards the Great Journey.

 • The Conditoris: The Conditoris Caste served as high up as the Justicars and Zealots. Often being the bright minds of the Imperium forging new weapons from the darkest depths of the Void. As well as new craft, armor and other means to aid the Imperium in their quest and one of the respected Castes of the other two.

The five Castes are ultimately kept in check from then on by the higher-ups that serve as overseers that keep them in line. Known as the Circle of Lords. The Circle of Lords also acts as a legislative system of keeping the codes and laws of the Imperium upheld. Even responsible for acting as a Judicial system as well. The Lords each govern and oversee a Caste.

 • High Praetor - Supreme Commander of the Zealot Caste and in charge of most Military matters directed by both the Prophet of the Void and the Arbiter himself

 • High Judiciaria - The Head of Law and State of the Imperium. In charge of making sure that most of the codes upheld by the Exitus Imperium are kept in line with the views of the Great Journey as well as having complete authority over the Justicar Caste

 • High Thrall- The High Thrall is the head of the Servitium Caste. However unlike those that are apart of his Caste. He is treated equally among the Lords. And is in charge of overseeing construction on all forms within his Caste.

 • High Pravum: Unlike the other Castes The Apparitoris Caste is split with two lords. The High Pravum which undertakes the arts of diplomacy, manipulation and government often working in tandem with the High Judicaria. While the High Umbrare in charge of spies, intelligence, and infiltration.

 • High Cordis: The High Cordis oversees the Conditoris Caste often charged with providing breakthroughs with science, and how the technology will work with the Void’s connection.

Together the High Lords often work together and present their finders to both the Arbiter and the Prophet of the Void. Making sure that along the path of the Great Journey order is kept. Next above the Circle of Lords Are the Seers of the Void, Prophet of the Void and those that answer to the one that is to lead them on the Great Journey to the Netherworld. The Arbiter.

 • Seers of the Void: Priests and Oracles that have journeyed into the realm that leads into the Netherworld. Traveling to the Void, where some have seen madness, others have found enlightenment and truth from within. Acting as those that spread the faith of the Imperium to those that would be converted. Convincing and showing them the way of the Void.

 • Prophet of the Void: Acting as religious guide and advisor to the Arbiter. A Prophet acts in accordance with what he has seen as the Way of the Void. Detailing secrets and knowledge he has learned in sacred texts. His word is highly regarded amongst the Imperium.

 • The Arbiter: A mysterious being that suffered the worse during the Netherworld crises. Taken to the far reaches of the Void, some say he was half dead, others say he became something else. Possessing unique supernatural abilities to which he passed down creating the first Voidwalkers. He is the embodiment of the beliefs the Voidwalkers hold. A messiah-like figure his views were what molded the way for the Imperium’s beginnings. Hellbent on purifying the Galaxy and reshaping it through the Void.

Beliefs:

Similar to how the Sorcerers of Rhand created the way of the Dark. The Exitus Imperium created it one step further with the way of the Void. The Way of the Void shown to those who disappeared into the Netherworld, and came back some not the same. All those who follow the Void, while most would describe as hollow, devoid of all life. Those who have delved deeper see it as salvation and of knowledge. Those that followed it saw power, saw a promised land where life would transcend to. Unafraid of Death, as while the Netherworld was indeed an afterlife within the Cosmic Force. Those that have seen beyond the surface of Void believe it to be another dimension altogether which one could journey to. Either in life or in death. Death was a key part in it all as it was transcendence. A way to open the door to the Netherworld.

Those that worshipped the Void saw the Living Force as heresy. No longer wishing to be forever bound to its will, discovering what they believed to be something higher than the Force itself. Viewing Light or Dark as insignificant compared to what the Void offered them. Some however who have dived too deep are subjugated to madness, their minds overloaded with the energy of the plane. There was a fundamental philosophy however to what the Imperium discovered is that through the absence of life, through the destruction of life. A balance would be restored in the Universe that the way to the promised land would be herald by the Great Journey.

The Great Journey was told as a coming Crusade that would restore balance and harmony in the Universe. To purify those that had corrupted the Galaxy with the long struggles of the light and dark, and through destruction, life would be born anew through the far reaches of the Netherworld. But the holy gates will not open unless a significant shift in the Force was taken. Therefore the Great Journey is a defining belief that only through destruction, and the way to the Void being shown. That peace and harmony would be restored. That after the journey there would be no more pain, no sorrow, and no despair that has wrought the galaxy in a terrible grip.

Voidwalkers; Voidwalkers were a unique creation to come out of the Netherworld event that gripped the Galaxy. Those that came back after being flung into the far depths of the void. Dead to the Force, however, was gifted with supernatural abilities that were similar to Force Powers, but were limited greatly compared to what the Force held. Those that came back shared a connection to the Void, they could boost physical and mental attributes such as intelligence, strength, and, agility. Move objects and or beings with a mere thought, even focus on life forces and drain them. In a way, they were granted these limited abilities as perhaps a way to be a natural predator to a Force User. While lacking in extreme and more powerful abilities that the Force offers. They make up for that in skill. Unable to wield lightsabers, they rely on armor symbolized after the creatures seen deep within the
void, and blades strong enough to counteract the cutting force given by Lightsabers.

Military:
The Imperium’s Military consists of tech throughout the Galaxy and inspiration from what was seen of the Void’s creatures. Hoping to provide fear into their enemies. The armor and weapons almost look living in appearance. But is made out of metals such as Durasteel, Duraplast, and Phrik. The Military has but one goal, crush all those that dare defy the Imperium, for them they see their enemies as lucky ones. Being the first to be sent deep into the Netherworld. However, if a foe has proven worth against the Imperium’s might they are offered a chance to convert and be apart of the Great Journey, The Imperium’s military is often known for shock and awe tactics. Using superior numbers to overwhelm an enemy even when they are equally matched considering their firepower.

Conclusion: While many have thought that with each passing crisis that the Galaxy faces. Whether it be the Gulag Plague, Netherworld or the Omega Crises. There are always unforeseen consequences, and one is waiting out their deep in the Unknown Regions, waiting not wishing to go through the suffering that is wrought by the Will of the Force. Instead of choosing to defy it when seeing a greater path, some would call it madness, others call it salvation. As they are waiting for the right moment, when that moment begins so does the Great Journey, so does the path towards a greater world, a Netherworld. Will you convert to the Way of the Void or will you resist it?

(This is the basic concept I have for this new faction in my head. Something different and a little ballsy than most factions. I hope it isn't too crazy and that some people would enjoy an antagonistic faction born out of a faction event a long time ago. Even if I wasn't apart of it. And I would love to see about getting some people on board to explore this concept and flesh it out more in lore and with story. So if any of you like it and want to help me out with my first ever faction idea. Please do say something below. Also sincerest apologies for the formatting! :) )

An interesting concept. I’m not too familiar with the netherworld event but it sounds fun. So how do force powers work in the faction and what kind of military are you imagining, like stormtroopers or something else or a mix I guess.

Dumb

Drop this. Keep the rest. Otherwise, this just looks like power gaming.

[member="Zmann"] I like the Idea alot you should go with it. Maybe change the force dead part to Force resistant. You could easily sub a species of humans or any race that was spat out of the netherworld event that could be Force Resistant in a way, similar to the Dashade, hutts, toydarians or many other force resistant species and races.

If this became a faction I would make a character for this.

I feared it would be that way. Any ideas or alternatives. I was trying to go for the idea of a sort of Anti-Force group. And hoped to balance it out so it wasn't that way.

[member="VildarnTentoria"]

The original idea, was the billions of people that disappeared into the galaxy, flung into the unknown parts of the Void. Came back dead in the Force, possessing a connection to the Void, and some supernatural abilities that were similar to the Force, but limited. As for military. There would be no Stormtroopers. This is something entirely different then Imperial factions as they despise the Force itself seeing the likes of every Major faction as Heretics.

[member="Nixia Amabilia"]

Why thank you, and yes I could do that sub the Voidwalkers as a race maybe. I don't know how to make them work without being power gamey or sounding as such and I do not want that.

All in all I am willing to create this faction, but if any of you are interested I could use some help rather then it be a one man job :)

Well I like the whole connection to the void thing. Separates you from just being another dark side cult and frankly the fact that you wrote it as limiting doesn’t make it power gaming. Just my thoughts.

Yes. If there are thoughts that you like to include on how different it could be feel free to let me know.
[member="VildarnTentoria"]

Well it would open the door for you to create a lot of new technologies and ships, and you could change the force powers s bit to make them stand out. I wouldn’t go making them anymore powerful though. You could have like an army that’s dead to the force same as the Vong, that could be interesting too.

Force Dead is fine then. It is also in flavor with the Netherworld itself, as, no living persons can touch the Force while inside the realm of the dead. It was part of the event RP and made even the strongest wizards very very mortal while trapped inside.

Now. PvP wise. The imbalance comes when you make your "special group" immune to the Force abilities of other characters WHILE also giving them extravagant powers of their own. And yes, life drain at a thought is extravagant. Even Star Wars vampire species have to touch you first and Force Drain is only available to top tier Force Users. Lulz. So I would strongly recommend staying as far away from making your "special group" even more of the magical unicorns they already are. Bleh. Gross.

Switching gears to PvE now. One of the things that made the Netherworld so interesting was that it was the realm of the dead. There was no food. No water. Just vast and endless torture scapes. Some barren and lonely. Some filled with gas and miasma. Still others filled with bones and haunted battlegrounds. It was not a place that catered to the minds nor bodies of the living. There was no culture. No family unit. No common language or right of passage. You did not breath air and walk within normal gravity. There was no food chain, no biological diseases, nor inheritances of any kind. It was hell. Plain and simple.

So imagining what kind of people could have come away from such an experience is no easy feat to achieve. Especially since you obviously want this group to be "appealing" in some small way. So yeah. My advice would be to stick closely to the themes that make the Netherworld unique, undesirable, and grotesque in it's extreme. All the while staying away from nerfing other characters in PvP. Force Dead is fine as it's book canon and blocks the character from using their own space magic at the same time. So it's semi balanced as is.

Anyway. 2 cents. Lots to look forward too here. Keep working at it and you'll get there. Nice. :D

I like it, and that was what I was looking forward to was turning the Netherworld especially the not so fleshed out part into a sort of deity, a sort of thing a religion could be based on. So I see where you're coming from and when creating this idea now I fully agree with you that it shouldn't be like special snowflakes. Now could it be its own group of people that have been transformed by the void, that could have physical attributes that rivals FUs. Maybe but I do like what you think about the whole thing so far, and I enjoy that you like most of the concept save for that small detail. :D

Any Wookiee has physical abilities that rival, nay, surpass your common Force User.

Look. Rivaling a Force User is easy. The Factory churns out guns and items every day that make Jedi Knights look like pansies in brown bikinis. Heck, many racial abilities outright nerf the Force's magic. Epicanthix anyone? Yeah. Or how about all those characters who are a thousand years old or more? Pretty easy to nerf a Sith Lord's diabolical sh'tick when you've literally outlived them by a century or two. Haha. Funny.

Nerfing a Force User is easy. We do it on this website every day. However? Forcing the Force itself is impossible. Worse than impossible. It's genre suicide. Run away from it. Jump away from it. Hyperspace away from it. Because it won't do you any good.

So again. If you want to fight Force Users in PvP? Sure. Go for it. We already have a bazillion options to do that. And they all work just as well as our opponent's let them. *wink wink* ...But, if you want to nerf the Force itself or waggle the next great "carrot of power" to entice players to join your group? Man. That's useless. Been-there, done-that, doesn't-work, nobody cares. Because attempting to beat a Sith Lord or Jedi Master just because "My character sheet says I can" is the most useless, trivial, and stupid way to play the game there is. Full stop. It doesn't get any of us, anywhere. Because then somebody else will just create something to nerf your special unicorn, and yadda, yadda, yadda. Etc ad' infinitum.

Stick the themes. Ignore the powers for now.

I see your point, instead of focusing on ways to perhaps better a PVP aspect. Just stick to the concepts and themes provided with the faction :D
