The Falcon

The new designs for her heavy drop ship, had come in. Their a few of them, she started to go through them all. Each one had good points, as well as their weakness. Then she came across one what peaked her interested, it planned to utilize some of her specialized tech. The entry explosive and the high impact shock absorbers. She put this on to short list pile, as at moment she was trying to narrow down the first one she would make first. The list went down from ten, to just two that stood out. She decide to contact the designers, and ask them to make a model prototype. So she could get better idea, of how they would work.

After a week the two proto types came in. One was decent but standard on, it had hyperdrive, room for fifty odd soldiers. It was quite well armoured, but was it good enough to land troops in an enemy space craft. She then looked at the other, it was still solid design, but had no hyperdrive. It also had limited fuel cell, which meant if it was long trip to enemy ship. It would not necessarily be able to make it back. She asked the designer why he did this, he remarked it was so they soldiers in to the battle. Two of them would be full company, so they still have unit cohesion.

She then sent both prototypes for testing to see how they performed. Also to see if he could get, seventy two men on one these things. Plus all their equipment.

The two prototypes where built, and where getting ready to be tested. The standard one went first, it had fifty men in their plus their crew. It took of no problem, and flew around it was quite agile. Though it`s hyperdrive took quite a bit room, she wonder if this why the other carry more soldiers. Then other on took off, it too was quite agile. Though it had come back down sooner, she then went up to pilot and asked why.

What was the reason, you came to land so soon? Darth Banshee asked

Well the extra weight, the limited fuel cell. That combined means less air time, than a standard drop ship. He replied

Could this vessel, return after a drop?

Depends on distances, it needs to travel. Where it is traveling, back from.

How so?

Well if your in space then not as big problem, it can jet of and use inertia to get back to it`s tender. Their tractor beam could be deployed, to help it land. If on the ground how ever, trying get of the ground requires more power. So you have to get closer to do the drop, and the mother ship would have to stay close by. As a precaution, as it may run difficulties.

Interesting.

She then head off to crunch the numbers and decide which one to build.

After spending time with her quantity surveyor, trying to figure out the price difference for to heavy drop ships. It appeared the one with out the hyperdrive, and with just smallest fuel cells came in cheaper. Though that was not surprising, he did question it life support.

The power on this ship, is reduced to bear minimum. This obviously, so it can get more troops into it`s holding bay. Th question is, how long can it last in outer space, before the every dies from lack of oxygen?

Well we have to test it, and find out I guess. Then again does he put a number on it? Darth Banshee replied.

He looked over the references, and saw a note for it. He then told her He wrote down here as two hours, which okay should give them enough time to board. Though would they be able to fight after this time.

Theirs only one answer, we have test it. Get that ship space with troops on, plus the designer. Then we see if this works, or not. Oh and keep an eye on their life signs, any issues get pulled before people die. She then left to go and meditate.

The test was already, and seventy two soldiers moved into the ship, plus the designer and crew. They then took of, from the factory ship. Each and every person on that ship, had individual medic monitoring them. To make sure they where not getting into difficulties. While she waited for the results, she kept walking past the monitors. To make sure the medics where doing their jobs, as she hated the idea of people losing the life for no reason.

After two hours had gone, it was time for them to come back on the ship. Then they would be made to do, their combat readiness drills. As the ship no use to her, if after hat time they could not fight. Though if could the sacrifices, it makes for extra room would be worth it.

She finally got the data about the test next day, the troops all seemed fine. Like the designer said they would be, in the report their armour was mentioned as well. If they spent more than two hour in space, it still not matter. As the infantry soldier has an hour back up air, incorporated in to their armour so they have plenty of time to get in the enemy ship.

Armed with this knowledge, she decided to see where she could produce this new ship, also make the necessary procurements for it. After all getting more men on enemy ship, the quicker the better.

After reading the requirements of the ship, she decide i could be built in the works. The entry explosive could be mounted on the ship, before it took off into action. This would provide even more jobs planetside, this was something she was quite proud off. As kept people in work, it also helped make the home life conditions better.

She head out to find a suitable building in the works, where the new factory could be opened. It end she found a dilapidated building, used by some street gangs. They soon scarpered, when a force sith trooper entered to claim the building. They never need to fire a shot, just of those silver claded warriors was enough to make them turn tail and run.
