The Feast

A large meal had been prepared by Jeff on board his light Tachyon Freighter because he needed employees. It was currently in the middle of space owned by no one, a precaution he had taken to ensure his own survival. His plans involved the recruitment of the Factionless Force Users out there because he needed muscle that COULD wield lightsabers. Those blades could cut nearly anything. Including him. There was little to no defense against such methods, other than Cortosis or Phrik which he had neither of. There were other metals likely, but he had yet to discover them. As HRDs did not eat, he had no need for any of the food prepared. But he hoped some of his guests would appreciate it. Sitting down at the large table he had set up in one of the conference rooms, he waited. It was time for him to do some recruitment of his own. ]

There were many reasons he wanted this to be a success. HRDs could not use the Force, at all. If worst came to worst the One Sith would be a problem, and so too might the Jedi. It was better safe than sorry, in any case.

Veino lounged back in his seat, tapping his fingers on the table, thinking, and studying [member="Jeff Solaris"]. What would this contract entail? Or was it something he even needed paid for? He pulled over a plate and piled some food on, still thinking and studying the ship. He had one just like it. New, too, and he hadn't gotten around to modifying it any.

"You are probably wandering why I called you here. Well it is simple. I have need of a light-saber crystal. Yet since the color I want does not naturally occur, I must synthetically make one. Unfortunately this means I need a recipe for making them. And since I don't have that recipe that is where you come in, well that and teaching me how to make a light-saber as well as how to wield it. "

Jeff paused, letting that sink in. For he needed a light-saber. Very few if any weapons could match up with the power of those weapons. It irritated Jeff some, but he'd learn to live with it. The Jedi and Sith had things too good. Sighing, he asked.

"So what will your price be for doing that for me?"

Veino raised an eyebrow, rather surprised. That was a fairly simple request. It was training, basically. Simple enough. He shrugged "I can't help with a synthetic crystal. They're dangerous and too unreliable for me, so I never learned to make one. I can teach you though, in forms one, three, and the Shien variant of form five. As for price, food and board are good enough. Knowledge is not meant to be commercialized."

"Very well. You shall have room and board here. You shall also have access to the resources of Suvian Sciences. By the time we are finished, I shall know how to wield a light-saber. The galaxy's growing more dangerous there, and guns alone won't aid me much. "

Jeff paused for a moment, considering something. But then he stopped himself for a second. Finally he stated. "Logic dictates that I will soon be working on certain technologies. You may have free reign of the ship while I do that. In any case, if you know of any other Force Users try to recruit them as well to live/eat/work here. We'll need all the help we get. Because soon I'll be taking a bounty on some of the One Sith. I do need the credits because really, I plan to buy a bigger ship soon."

Veino nodded, listening. Those all seemed to be reasonable enough, and it was true about the guns, although a Mandalorian could push any Force user to their limit against guns. Probably even best a few. He almost choked at the mention of the bounties though.
"You're actually going after those bounties? Just for the credits? There are better ways to earn credits than making yourself a target for the Sith." He shook his head slowly, "I can't protect you against the wrath of the One Sith."

"You're right of course."

This was spoken by Jeff because he had realized something. Going after the One Sith or Republic would be extremely illogical, not to mention completely futile. Their vast resources had him completely outgunned, unfortunately. What that meant was that he'd need an alternative revenue stream of some kind to help fund his creations. First things were first, he'd learn to build a light-saber. "So do you have any ideas of where we could acquire the crystals needed for a light-saber?"

"Oh, and one other thing. I need to make the uniforms for Suvian Employees. Can I count on you as one of the employees of the company?"

[member="Jeff Solaris"]

Veino leaned back in his seat, considering. He started counting on his fingers, "There are a variety of places one can find crystals. Adega, Ilum, and Dantooine, being the most common." He wasn't entirely sure how to create a lightsaber without attuning it to the maker through the Force. That was another point he had to add, "When you find yourself in opposition to a Force User, even with a lightsaber, you'll still find yourself at a significant disadvantage. Our lightsabers are a part of us through the Force. Another limb, almost. Non-Force users can't match that kind of connection."

Was he an employee of the company though? He frowned, considering that, before shaking his head, "I don't think so. It makes me more public than I'm really comfortable with."

There were planets where he could acquire the light-saber crystals he needed. But yet he would not be able to match up with Force Users because actually they had a deeper connection with a light-saber. This would put him at a significant disadvantage. Still though having some skill when it came to the blade would be useful. At least he wouldn't cut himself with one. "So do you know which of the planets is the least inhabited and has the least people on it so as to avoid hostilities of any kind? I would rather not get into a war over the crystals. In any case, I am sorry to hear you won't work for me directly. But in any case, you can have free room and board on this ship. Actually, when I get a larger ship with enough credits you can possess this ship yourself as a little present for helping me out. So, is there a way to make the light-saber crystals artificially?"

Veino waved off the offer of the ship, "I already have a Tachyon class freighter, but thanks for the offer. As for the planets, Ilum has a strong Jedi presence. Adega crystals are incredibly hard to find in the system. Dantooine is likely to be the best bet. It might be best if I retrieve the crystal to avoid any potential hostilities." He paused to think some more, "And the key is to find a crystal that resonates with the Force. As for artificial ones, yes, it is. All that is required is carbon-rich materials and a geologic imitator while meditating on the crystal for several days."

@Veino Garn

"Excellent. We now have our first stop. Dantooine will be where we will head. Later, after we have the crystal I need I'll show you something I acquired in a treasure hunt. You can have it as a sort of prize, perhaps. " Force Sensitives would likely make better use of more powerful crystals because of them being sensitive to the Force, and the power within the crystals. Jeff was not, and thus was at a distinct disadvantage. "So as agreed you will go down to dantooine, retrieve about a baker's dozen of crystals. " Jeff knew he had a lot of work to do. Building a light-saber was going to be no easy task, whatsoever. Yet it had to be done for he needed one. With ever increasing numbers of Jedi and Sith out there, well he had to be prepared for what lay ahead and that blade would come in handy for him.

Veino nodded, "Sounds about right." He waved off the offer the prize. He had no need for more objects. He had everything he needed right now. "I don't need much more compared to what I already have." He paused, tapping his fingers on the edge of his seat. It would be different, constructing a non-attuned lightsaber, or even teaching to construct one. As far as he was aware, nobody had done that in any recent time. It would have to be purely technical. No need formthe symbolism and flow of the Force. "Any particular color you want?"

"No particular color, but I want one of every color you can find. Since you declined the prize, well I'll auction off those items I don't need."

This was spoken with a bit of excitement in his voice. For Jeff knew he'd need to do this. Having a Light-saber sell would make Suvian a lot richer especially if they sold to all sides without the other knowing. Hmm. His plan might come in handy.

Veino nodded, trying to guess how that might turn out. He chewed his lip, "Probably some blues, some greens, one or two yellows. Maybe a purple. That sound about right?" He took another drink, considering. "Do you want to attempt to build it yourself or should so do it? They're far less stable and potent without the use of the Force."
