STRENGTHS
High Yield: True to its namesake, this weapon is deadly when used at its full potential. Fully capable of damaging light vehicles and playing merry havoc with your standard infantry formations.
Kinetic Oomph: Taking a design notes from an early project, the Firaxa incorporates a Baragwin Shaped-Energy Delivery System that dramatically increases the concussive force delivered by each shot. Sustained fire from the Firaxa has been shown to dent and even damage blast doors.
Variable Power Setting: For those more intimate diplomatic encounters, the Firaxa’s damage output can be dialed down to suit to users need. The further optional stun setting with a wide dispersal blast radius, capable of potentially affecting creatures within 10ft of impact.
Improvised Weapon: The Firaxa is heavy. Combined with the extremely high durability of the phrik frame, it makes a rather destructive improvised bludgeoning weapon in a pinch.
WEAKNESSES
Cool Down: Due to the heat generated from each shot, the Firaxa requires at the very least a thirty seconds to cool down between power cells. Failure to heed this advisory will cause the barrel to gradually warp and affect the weapon’s performance.
Ammunition: The Firaxa is a greedy cheeka. With at best twelve shots on a power cell, halved when at the highest setting, it can quickly guzzle through the user’s supply when used indiscriminately.
Strong Arms: The Firaxa isn’t just for the feeble hearted, it isn’t for the feeble in general. Between the hefty weight and even heftier recoil, this weapon is a little unwieldy and can place a great deal of strain upon the user. As such, it requires a great deal of strength to properly bring out its full potential.
DESCRIPTION
Named for the deadly predator that lurks in the watery depths of Manaan, the Firaxa isn’t exactly the prettiest weapon to come out of the Tricks of the Trade workshop in recent years. Between the drab phrik frame and olive green duraplast accouterments, not to mention its rough and ready overall design, it isn’t a slinky little number that suits every occasion. Yet for what it lacks in aesthetic, this particular weapon more than makes up for in shear stopping power, incorporating the very same Baragwin technology from earlier designs to really drive home every single shot.
Of course, understanding that there are times when a little more discretion is needed in your gunfight, the Firaxa also incorporates a feature that allows the user to dial down the hurt accordingly. Or even switch to the heavy stun function for when you really need to get diplomatic.
When all else fails, it is a big gun for a rather big client. That phrik frame might not win any style awards, but it makes it extremely durable against both general wear and tear and the more exotic. It also makes it a rather decent bludgeoning weapon should the situation call for it.
