The First Day

Reid sat outside one of the many training rooms in the jedi temple. I was his first official day of training after joining The Republic. He considered walking away. He couldn't walk away! It was too late anyway, for he heard footsteps approaching the door. He wondered what his master would be like. Would he be strict or laid-back? Would he be a good master. Reid didn't even know if his master was a male or a female! With those thoughts, he saw his master for the first time...

Kai albiet slowly walked through the halls of the jedi temple. It seemed as of late they have received many promising and some now proven jedi within the order. As such even though his devices frequently draw him away he finds that he still feels it is his responsiblity to take on padawans and such.

The sun's rays felt wonderful on his exposed arms and face. He wore a very informal attire, fiber muscle shirt with a loose but still slim black pants. His lightsabers clipped to a belt that shown his family crest as made it to his destination.

The door opened rather uneventfully but he found eyes upon him which easily told his this young jedi was who he'd be training. Adjusting his long white mane of hair behind his head he walked over to the young jedi.

Extending his hand he attempted to almost casually shake his hand. "I'm Kai and I guess I'll be showing you the ropes around here." He mentioined neither name or title because as a warrior a title meant nothing if you couldn't fight up to it's level. He had always proven himself on the battlefield but as of late he found himself looking for more; perhaps too much but only time would tell.

Reid firmly shook his hand. "I'm Reid." Was Reid ready for this? He was only seventeen after all. He knew that he was ready. There have been padawans at least 8 years younger than him before. Reid was just afraid of what he would learn. He was afraid of what he would find out about all the strange things that had been going on in his life recently. He had to do this. He had to do it for his mother. He had to do it for his sister. He was ready, and no matter how much he convinced himself otherwise, he was going to be a jedi.

"So tell me Reid, what type of Jedi do you seek to be and why is it you wish to be Jedi" Kai needed to know because many seek to be a hero or a personal vendetta which when used correctly can help. However, they didn't understand what came with being a Jedi and the struggle to remain within the light. Kai began to walk out the door signaling for Reid to follow, he was leading him to the training room. As an Echani he'd learn whatever he needed to know for now through combat as was his way.

Reid followed Kai to the training room. Why did he want to be a Jedi? That was a good question and he hadn't really thought about it much until now. Was it because of his mother? He knew that wasn't a good reason. That would be a reason to become a sith, not a Jedi. Reid would never even consider becoming sith. So why did he want to be a Jedi? "I just want to help people. I've seen too many people die in my life. I don't want to see it happen to anyone else. I want to see life instead of death for a change. I want to be a hero."
