The Old Man with the stick
Coruscant
Jedi Temple
Jake's office on Coruscant was fairly small, though with the high ceilings of the design of the Temple. It contained a flowform hoverchair, a desk, several databanks and computer consoles with stools, a holodisplay, a couch, and two comfortable easy chairs.
The desk was arranged so that Jake's hoverchair faced the door, with the comfy chairs opposite his desk, facing him, databanks to the left, couch to the right. Behind the desk was a small refrigeration unit and food prep machine. On top of the desk were several datapads and a small model of a Corellian gunship, a gift from the crew.
Master Judah sat in his chair awaiting the arrival of his students. He would be taking on the heavy responsibility of training two padawans at once. Jake felt he had the knowledge, and experience to help them become Jedi Knights, or he would not have sought the task out. He felt, most strongly, a debt to his own Master, to repay his time, knowledge, and efforts, in guiding a new generation of Jedi as he had been guided; to pass on the things he had been taught.
Today they would meet properly for the first time, and Jake would inquire about each of them, so as to be the best teacher he possibly could. The bond between Master and Apprentice was deep and powerful, but it had to start somewhere. Building it would take time, love and discipline. His role was as a guide. He'd dismissed his droids and other associates for the day, so that he could focus entirely on the beginnings of what he hoped was a successful partnership in learning.
