The First Form [OPEN]

Konrad had some spare time and not much to do in that time. Being a man dedicated to the army, he decided to make use of this time to run an open training session to teach the first lightsaber form – Shii-Cho. It was a simple enough that non-force users would have no issue learning it and a building block for the later forms. In addition to sending an open invitation to the entire military, he also personally sent out an invitation to his apprentice, [member="Tymon"] as he was not satisfied with how the training session to Thracior ended.

The time for the training to commence was near, approximately 50 men had already gathered on the Anexes training grounds as this was an impromptu one training session and soldiers were not given much notice before it began. Not many spaces for the training remained as the High General wanted to ensure that each soldier was assigned their own training dummy to practice Shii-Cho moves on. For safety purposes, Konrad had placed dummies around the fields with a considerable amount of space between each of them.

Standing to the right of the High General was the captain of his personal unit, Der Jager who he had called to assist him during the training session. Next to the man were bundles of wooden swords Konrad had intended to soldiers to use for this training. Unlike a sword, a lightsaber was weightless and required much training before non-force users were able to properly wield it so it would irresponsible of him to allow each and every soldier gathered on the Anaxes training grounds a lightsaber.

After receiving a personal invitation to a public training session with his master, Cole Tymon raced for the training grounds on Anaxes. The military planet was the first time he had met his master, the then Brigadier General von Grimmelshausen. Some time after the initial meeting, the High General and his apprentices met on Thracior. The plan had been to teach the acolytes the power of force lightning and Shii-Cho. The time had been found for the force lightning, but the training with Shii-Cho had to be cut short.

Now, Cole stood on the planet of Anaxes once more, to learn the first lightsaber form. The Sith Acolyte had ensured that he had a spot very close to his Sith Master. He figured he would be able to hear him more effectively at a lesser distance, and he wanted to make sure his master knew he had attended.

With one of the practice swords in hand, Cole stood straight and watched Konrad intently, awaiting his first instruction.

Alysha approached the training field, slightly cautious. One of her superiors had recommended her to be on the list for a special training session. This originally wasn't a curious thing to her, she had done much training in the past because frankly, that's what the military is. But upon learning more information, she became slightly confused. This small training session of ~50 members was the be lead by a High General and high ranking government official and not only that, was the training of the first lightsaber form of combat. Alysha had never even considered learning how to wield one considering she was very sure she wasn't force sensitive, but thus the opportunity to train under someone so high ranking overtook her confusion of the training agenda and here she was standing in the field.

She sees the many training dummies not unlike the ones she trained with in her first military experiences littered around the field and also spots the pile of practice swords that were obviously to be used for practicing. As she approaches them, she sees the High General standing alongside what would appear to be his first officer surveying the crowd. Never in her previous experiences had she met someone so high ranking and did her best to look professional as she picked up a sword and walked to one of the empty dummies. She turns towards the general and awaits his first instructions as the stated start time was about to hit.

A heavy sky of melded grey-azure and crimson clung to mild winds this day, as the frequent rumble could be heard from an off-sight cloud of black that threatened to obscure the sensitive light of the day. Despite the high walls that surrounded the training grounds, the winds offered a cool and temperate atmosphere for the students, weaving between the combat dummies, oftentimes with calm yet frequently with greater force that caused the extended limbs to flail with slumped effort.

Kyros Fen, Acolyte of the One Sith and Major of its army, stood firm and tall along the front row of the open grounds, his broad shoulders back, face calm though stern, and fist clenched around the base of a wooden sword. The place had a stench of dust, dried blood and the sweat of alien initiates. Being surrounded by such aliens often made Kyros angry, but his new teacher seemed strong. He hoped that was indeed the case, and that he would not rue his decision to come to him at a later point. The existence of humanity was only excusable when justified by strength, and this one seemed to present such a strength. Time would tell. Crimson eyes rose to where High General [member="Konrad von Grimmelshausen"] stood.

The time for the training to commence had arrived; Konrad was pleased to see two of his apprentices had made it to the training. He could sense their presence in the crowd. Although he knew [member="Tymon"] had already heard his explanation of the theory behind Shii-Cho before, he repeated it for the benefit for the rest of the soldiers gathered before him. “Shii-Cho, otherwise known as form I is the most basic of lightsaber forms and the foundation from which the other forms are created from. The moves and manoeuvres of this form are based around 6 target zones of the body. Zone 1 is the head, 2 and 3 are the right and left side of the body respectively, zone 4 the whole torso area and finally, zone 5 and 6 are the right and left legs respectively.” The High General then used his telekinesis to place a wooden sword in front of each of the soldiers who turned up to the training.

"Take the sword," he ordered the soldiers before he demonstrated the first move. Holding a wooden sword over his head, Konrad performed an overhead blow. “This is attack targets zone 1,” he explained before he manoeuvred the lightsaber just in front of his face and a bit above his eyebrows in a defensive motion. “And this is how you parry an attack that targets zone 1. Now practice with the person besides you. Start slow and progressively get faster as you familiarize yourself with this move."

Cole may have heard the theory of Shii-Cho from his master before, but he listened intently to it once more. The Sith Acolyte had figured that if he had missed something the first time around, now would be a good time to learn it again. What Konrad had said, however, was all already known to Cole Tymon. The zones in Shii-Cho weren't a very difficult concept to grasp, and Cole had taken the time to put them to memory when he was first instructed about them.

After moving swords in front of those who hadn't received one, [member="Konrad von Grimmelshausen"] showed the large group the attack that targets zone 1 and the parry to the aforementioned attack. Again, Cole had already known of these two moves, but he was always ready for a bit of extra practice. He turned to face one of the soldiers next to him and raised the wooden sword up to practice the attack. While he didn't put all of his strength into the swing, he wasn't going to go easy on the soldier. They both needed training in the fighting form and going easy wouldn't teach either of them anything. Having noted this, Cole's sparring partner swung just as hard when it was his turn to practice the attack. They continued going back and forth until the High General gave further instruction.

The High General's words rang throughout the training field, containing a fierceness and strength that was to be expected of one of his rank. The instructions were basic, but necessary and useful all the same. Kyros turned to the common infantryman at his side whom he dwarfed with his tall, muscular frame. The soldier shook at the sight of the Sith, but held his ground as Kyros rose his wooden blade to deflect any attempt of striking he may have presented. It was a feeble first try.
"Fear is the mind-killer. Strike harder," he told the human. After several attempts, they switched and Kyros struck with firm a grasp and shear force, causing the young man to move back a step before steadying himself once more. The boy was weak. He was trying, but he was weak. He would either adapt or die. The two switched blows for several minutes until the High General's next command.
