The First Lesson

Solan's hands curled around the hilt of his krath war blade as he pulled it off his back and placed it against the wall. It was a week after the day he had met Kor and they were in an open area outside of the main city. The air was chilled from the planet's winter and even a light snowfall was occurring on the planet at the moment. Solan's clothing was nothing different than normal, the trench coat kept on and around him as he now spoke.

"We are going to train out here, there is no one to interrupt and nothing that could be harmed. I have only one rule in teaching you the force, and that is that you will never use these powers to hurt or abuse the freedoms of innocents. Those that had never committed crimes or are not soldiers in war, those that cannot defend themselves. That is my one and only rule and if you break it then i will remove you from the equation myself. Is that clear?" He said this as he turned to look at Kor, deadly serious as it was the one thing that he would not accept from his students.

Kor wore some new clothes, a brown rope with a tan inner tunic. The robe was used to keep him warm from the outside chill. He watched as Solan hung the weapon on the wall.

As Solan began tell him the rule Kor nodded. "I will only use if it I am forced to." Kor said as he drew the robe closed to him to keep the cold out. The rule was understandable. "Have I already broken it?" He was worried that by killing his parents that he had already failed Solan.

He cleared his throat as he dropped the saber in his hand off to the side and removed any other weapons in his hand. Except his hand did not stay empty long as he snapped and what in his hand had been nothing was not a burning blue flame as he started to speak and look at Kor. "I have one rule, one you can only break after I start training you. I kill you if you murder, Burn you if you enslave, Cut you down if you cause a Genocide. I will Roast you from the inside out if ever you corrupt my teachings in greed. I teach you to control these powers so that you can use them to defend the people of the Galaxy and if you harm the innocents or defenseless of the galaxy... Then i will correct my mistake and make sure you feel pain for what you did." He paused as his eyes started to narrow and he looked at Kor for a few moments. "Is that clear, because starting now if you ever break this then i will be forced to do as i said."

Kor nodded, a little stunned at this sudden turn of events. "Yes Master." Kor bowed his head and kept his eyes cast down. In his mind he had still failed the his master. But he pushed that to the side. "What will we be learning?"

Kor was ready to learn and he wanted to learn. This would be like school for him, something he had never gotten to go to. And it would serve another purpose, it would help him to control his feelings.

"Well we need to first determine you adeptness at meditation which normally for your species is not hard to come by that trait but you are not like the rest of your people so i will not expect you to be as exceptional as them. But if you are, then that will come to simply help you in the future with learning. But a key thing to avoid is your pride. Everything we do and accomplish here today is nothing compared to what comes after and you will never know everything even if you done though you must always look for more. If that makes any sense. So my first question is just that, do you know how to center yourself?"

This was alot to take in Kor thought as he listened to Solan. Although he didn't hate it. He was somewhat interested to learn about his species, but he though he might ask later. "How to center myself?" Kor asked as he looked down to the ground. "No, sorry I don't know." He said as he kept his eyes cast down.
