The First Order Independent Sector: What you need to know!

IndependentSectorBanner.png
The Exalted Populace of the First Order or the Independent Sectors as they are more commonly known is the backbone of the First Order under the Supreme Leader’s Dictatorship. While most recognise the Regime from the white armours of it’s Stormtroopers or the triangular wedge of the Fleet’s Star Destroyers it is in fact the stubborn willingness of the Independent Sectors that keep the wheel of the authoritarian Government running.

Covering each and every supporter of the First Order outside of the military hierarchy the Independent Sectors is a group that is as diverse as it is talented. From painters to Bounty Hunters each hold a place within the Independent Sector and one of it’s many Guild Houses.

The Goals of the Independent Sector.

Each member of the Independent Sector is there because they want to be. Each show their support for Supreme Leader Sieger Ren’s vision by initiating themselves within this Regime willingly and without question.
They strive to aid the First Order and further their cause as they become a Galactic power and through it seek peace in their time under one rule, much like it was and should have been.
By becoming a member of the Independent Sector an Individual is gifted several trade and legal boons that will continue to aid them for as long as they support the First Order.

Rules of the Independent Sector.

The Independent Sector operates under the jurisdiction of the First Order and it’s Supreme Leader; Sieger Ren. As such each individual must obey the laws of the First Order Charter as decreed by the Governing Committee and the Supreme Leader himself.
The average citizen may apply for rights of the Independent Sector through birth-proof to any planet belonging within the influence of the First Order, strict belief tests and scans can be initiated by the local FOLA (First Order Loyalty Agency) to weed out possible Infiltration and trouble-makers.
However if one does not belong to an influenced planet through Birth-proof then an application to the First Order Independent Sector can still be made through the Governing body or one of the many associated Guild Houses that support the Order throughout the Galaxy.
Those seeking Guild Membership are those looking for the chance to operate professionally within the First Order. Businesses and professionals are welcome within the First Order and must assign themselves to either a Guild House or pay for an Independent Operation Badge in order to operate within the Independent Sector.
To operate within First Order Territory without an IOB, Guild House or First Order citizenship is a crime and punishment will be issued as per the First Order Charter.

Guild Houses.

An Associate Guild House of the First Order Independent Sector is an organisation ran by professionals to network, control and influence like minded individuals while supporting the cause of the First Order.
Each Guild House is as unique as the next and all are independently operated outside of the First Order Hierarchy, all that links them and the Regime is the belief that the Supreme Leader is on the path to Galactic Peace and that the Guild House supports this cause.
Many different professions have Guild Houses within and without the First Order Territories each with their own rules and regulations.
A Guild House becomes a secondary family to the member and they are protected by the laws of both the Guild and the First Order.
Due to members having access to a Guild Independent Operations Badge yearly membership costs are decided by the Guild Master, but each will cover the cost necessary for the member to operate fully with the support of his or her guild.
A couple of example Guilds are listed below:

The First Order Bounty Regulation Guild (BRG)
Allows for Bounty Hunters to operate with First Order space with the full cooperation of local security forces. The First Order government use the BRG as their go to means of advertising Bounties within their territories. This guild also deals with temporary passes into their jurisdiction for Bounty Hunters not assigned to the BRG or owning an IOB.

Evoque-Private (EP)
Evoque is a private military more or less. The guild house hires all those dedicated in private security, muscle work and generally everything mercenary.
The First Order work closely with EP and more than once members have been slipped into the Stormtrooper Legions.

InterTrans
A transporting Guild that operates all the shipping lines through the First Order. As all other transport lines that do not hold IOB passes or Guild Membership are considered as smugglers should they pass through any part of First Order space the InterTrans group has made a solid monopoly so far.

The First Artists Guild
Actors, painters and opinionated writers. This guild has them all and each of them support the First Order’s policies and will push them as they see fit. Many of this guild find employment and contracts through the First Orders Governing Council.

Independent Operation Badges
These badges are gifted to those of the Independent Sector who wish to operate a business or trade their profession throughout First Order space but do not wish to sign into a contract with a Guild House. It is a compulsory tool implicated within the support of the First Order but while the cost may be considered steep by some the bonuses and incentives offered aid with the hit.
It is a small physical badge that is handcrafted for each individual business. Some are extravagant, others simple; yet each bares a digital read that lists them as a registered barer of an IOB and waves them passage or permission to trade through First Order controlled space.
Owning an IOB grants the following bonuses as long as the First Order Charter is followed:

Allowing of Membership into the Associate Guild House of the First Order Independent Sector Program.
  • Discounted wares from any First Order associated Companies
  • Housing Benefits upon First Order controlled worlds
  • Protection within First Order borders
  • Lifestyle and Medical Benefits within First Order borders
  • Access to trade and operation rights within First Order borders
  • Tax-Free benefits through direct assistance with the First Order Government
  • Exclusive rights to reclaimed territory issued as Independent Sector Allotments by the First Order Military

Please note that membership within a Guild House instantly grants the barer an IOB listed to that Guild Houses identity.
The yearly cost for an IOB per person is 10,000 credits, but as one grants you a comfortable life within the First Order many don’t complain.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I join?
Simply join the First Order faction and state on your Bio or in your signature that you are a Independent Sector member. Artwork will be issued at a later date for those who enjoy more visible claims.

Do I have to be part of the First Order to join the Independent Sector?
Yes, the First Order and the Independent Sector are one and the same, it is just a different style of character background to the more military focus of the main faction.

Can I hold a rank within the First Order Military?
No. The Independent Sector holds no rank. They are simply known as members of the Independent Sector as you can play them as you wish and do not need to advance through the ranking system like members of the First Order military branches. Besides members of the Military forces automatically receive the same benefits only with different service through RP.

Do I have to take part in faction threads like Dominations, Invasions and the like?
That is completely up to you. As a Bounty Hunter you might like to use a domination as background for your hunt. As a mercenary you can assist in an Invasion with your own objectives and as a painter you might like to write how your art inspired an uprising against the First Order’s enemies. (Besides who hasn’t wanted to write a domination based entirely around an acting troupe?)

If I have a company and am part of the Independent Sector can I still trade outside of the First Order?
Yes, you can operate as normal, it simply means that you can trade tax free and protected within First Order space.

I am not part of the Independent Sector can I trade to you?
Yes, just be prepared to pay taxes, taxes and taxes. Plus customs and taxes. You might as well join and just love the First Order and what we are doing. It’ll be cheaper.

Can I be part of the Independent Sector and another faction?
Of course. You are simply showing your political preference is with the First Order and it’s ideals, just don’t let Coren Starchaser find out. He won’t like it.
