Description: Build inside the husk of a almost dead stardestroyer of the One Sith empire, the Floating Market is now a notorious shadowport above Malachor V. While most of the ship has been scavenged long before the ship was repurposed, one reactor is still intact, allowing the market to stay in the low orbit of Malachor. While live support is only partly intact, the markets are build inside the areas where it is still functioning. Without any real power to control the Floating Market, besides the watchful, yet passive eyes of Darth Abyss, there are no laws and rules, besides: No matter what you do, do not damage the market further. The former ship is in a very bad shape, and each day there is spend with patching and repairing smaller and bigger problems to keep it from falling down onto the surface. The floating Market is open to any and all, from part time smugglers, to slave traders and even members of larger criminal groups. The place is highly overcrowded, as while the ship originally was intended for far more people many parts of the ship have become completely unusable.
Slave Market:
The Slave Market is a small, yet important part of the Floating Market, filled with slaves that are for the most part Twileks. The "wares" there range from cheap slaves, to high class slaves, which are often supplied by the children of Korriban or other larger criminal groups. Yet private traders are allowed to sell there to, as long as they manage to find a place to sell, or buy one from those that are currently controlling the market, something that is in a constant flux.
Black Market:
The Black Market has a range of legal and illegal wares, ranging from weapons and armor to drugs and tech. Most wares land there by smugglers and scavengers that sell their private stash, but like the slave market there are also larger group selling their wares in a controlled matter. The black market makes up the most of the Floating Market, around 70% of the markets areas are filled with smaller and bigger vendors.
Club of the Enlightened:
Darth Abyss private bar on the floating market, a place where information flows as freely as drugs and booze. While there are more bars and clubs on the market, the Club of the Enlightened is one of the few that is steadily supplied a outside power, making it a well like establishment by both the population and travelers due to its rather high quality wares.
Sweatshops:
Below the slave markets is another small part of the ship, which has been repurposed into sweatshops. Here low pay workers and slaves work under the strict eyes of Darth Abyss, either on his own projects or for those ready to pay for the manpower there.
Living Situation: Most people of the Floating Market live in selfmade huts, but also many of the old crew quarters are used to as homes. Those with money and influence often control larger areas of the market which are used as their personal homes or bases of operation, which are secluded from the rest of the ship for the most part.
History: The Floating Market was once a Darr-Itah-Class Grand Battlecruiser, a ship controlled by Darth Abyss in the massacre of Metellos. Named "Ophidia" by its commander, the ship and its crew severed until the fall of the One Sith empire. The last action of the ship was its travel to Malachor V, but by then most of the crew had begun to leave the ship without an empire to back them. Only a small crew that still had loyalty managed to keep the ship somewhat intact, but without further supply most of them either were forced to leave or died on board of the ship. A few months later, after the creation of the Abyss academy, and after large parts of the ship were scavenged, Darth Abyss decided to use the husk of the ship as a port for transferring and storing supplies for his Academy. In a rather short time smugglers, low lives and other criminals became aware of the ship, using it to store and secure wares there alike the sith lord. At first the different groups kept to themselves on different parts of the ship, but over time they began to trade.
One year later the ship had been stabilized by many makeshift repairs, and slowly grew into a fully realized shadowport, used by both groups and individuals. Additonal to the original black market, a slave market emerged on the ship, as the isolated location freed those there from the hand or the law. Following this, Darth Abyss created the sweatshops in the lowest parts of the ship which slaves brought from the market above. Some of those without any perspective also began working in these sweatshops for the bit of money that could be made there.
Darth Abyss control over the Floating market is not only undoubted, but well liked as the sith lord allows the people to freely lead themselves, only acting if his own plans are endangered. Due to this no one ever disrespects the sith there, as a shift of control would be bad for business, a fact almost everyone on the port recognizes.
Intent: To create a Shadowport that is used to supply the Abyss Acedemy on Malachor V
