Description: The Flute of Azer, Overfather of the Skies, is a force sensitive relic from the planet SE-3 in the Companion Esk system. While its origins are unknown it can be assumed that Azer was a power force user as this would fall into line with the shamanistic traditions that the planet maintains. Likely many of the -gods- on SE-3 were actually powerful force users masquerading as omnipotent beings or deities however without more thorough investigation of the planet itself one can safely assume this will never be known. As for Azer himself the flute was apparently an instrument he personally used, according to legend and was imbued with a fraction of his power. Aethan Tannan discovered the flute in the temple of Azer on the planet SE-3, apparently a gift from the -god- himself though the reason behind this went unrevealed.
The Flute itself is made of what appears to be lacquered wood with two brass bends encircling either end of the instrument. It measures a total of 14" and has 4 tone holes that run along its length to aid in the creation of musical sound. Like most flutes it is hollow but capped on one end. As it is constructed of wood and a minimal amount of brass it doesn't way an overly excessive amount and is unnoticeable when handled or carried. A casual observer would note that the flute is fairly unremarkable however it does possess a force sensitive marker and can be detected by force users.
As Azer was consider a God of Weather the flutes powers generally center around powers that tamper with the weather in, mostly, non harmful ways. The Flute has four tone holes and therefore is capable of doing four separate things depending on which of the tone holes are covered. If either of the first two tone holes are covered and the flute is played the temperature in an area of up to 60 meters can be effected by a total of 10 degrees either way corresponding with the appropriate tone hole. This means that the temperature in an area measuring 60 meters around the flute can rise or fall a total of 10 degrees. When the third tone hole on the flute is covered and the instrument is played it can call down a light rain in a radius of up to 50 meters around the flute. Rainfall is always light and never excessive. Generally speaking these abilities of the flute are relatively for show and have a very minor potential of being able to harm anyone.
Only the fourth power of the flute has any offensive potential. When the fourth tone hole on the flute is covered and the instrument is played the user may summon a Force Whirlwind, as the power of the same name, to engulf anyone within line of sight from him at a range of 30 meters. The Flutes wielder has no direct control over the whirlwind aside from choosing the target however it will act within the normal parameters of what a Force Whirlwind would be able to do.
All of the powers of the flute function only within their designated parameters. This means that outside of 60 meters the temperature cannot be affected, outside of 50 meters no rain will fall and outside of 30 meters the Force Whirlwind will not be effective. As well as these guidelines none of the powers of the flute will continue to work after the flute has ceased playing. Once the music stops so does whatever power that was being employed.
Strengths
-Can perform minor feats of weather manipulation which include the raising or lower of the temperature by upwards of 10 degrees in either direction and can cause a light rainfall.
-Can create a Force Whirlwind which will affect one individual within line of sight up to a distance of 30 meters.
Weaknesses
-Must be continuously played if the powers it evokes are to continue to operate. Once the music stops so does the power.
-Outside of the designated range set for each of its powers the flute is unable to function.
-Cannot function in force dead areas
