- Flight - This broomstick-lightsaber can enable unassisted flight, imbued with the force to specifically grant the occupant Force Flight (a telekinesis variant that only affects the user/broomstick). As a backup, and as a recovery method in case of losing the broomstick, among the lightsaber components built into the wooden shaft is a Repulsor and a homing beacon, allowing a user to call for it remotely, and preventing a user from falling in the case of being inexplicably disconnected from the force by any variety of effects.
- Charge! - The Flying Witchblade is really just a soup-up lightsaber, and can be used to fly and cut in one sequence.
- Flight - Whether by its Force Imbuement, or Repulsor, this broomstick can fly! (Atmospheric exit not advised, no canopy to protect the user) Users needn't be Force Sensitive to benefit.
- Recall - As long as you have its beacon, and provided its repulsor is functioning, you can call the Flying Witchblade to come to you remotely (does not do well against obstacles or barriers, vulnerable to repulsor mines and doesn't work in space outside of a gravity well)
- Durable - Though it provides no protection to the rider, the Flying Witchblade itself is lightsaber resistant and durable to most forms of damage on account of its Force Imbuement
- Lightsaber - With an affixed lightsaber bayonet attached to the broom handle, the Flying Witchblade can functionally act as a lightsaber; it can cut while in midflight, or the rider can dismount and use it as an impromptu lightsaber-spear or javelin.
- Force Nullification - Though it has a Repulsor as a backup, it is incapable of flight anywhere there is a void in the force, or if it is otherwise stripped of the force. It also likewise loses its durability in a such a void and will be rather easily damaged.
- Outer Space - There is no contingency available if the Flying Witchblade loses the force while in outspace, as repulsors do no work outside of a gravity well. Good way to get stranded. Oh, also, there is no protection against hard vacuum, cosmic rays, micro-meteorite impacts, stray ancient hypervelocity rounds, or the cold cold deadness of space among other dangers to the rider and any potential occupants, etc.. Best to keep the traveling terrestrial.
- Recall Jammed - Another limitation to being able to recall the Flying Witchblade is signal jamming. Going to be hard for it to find you if it doesn't even know you're calling for it.
- Awkward - It probably won't be the most comfortable ride you've ever had, in any seating arrangement, and fighting with it against another lightsaber user may prove to be challenging to all but a master blade duelist, who even then would probably prefer an ordinary saber.
Long ago there was a user of the force known as a witch. Not much was known about them, except the rumors of their ability to fly riding nothing but a length of wood affixed with a shaft of light. It was said that the bizarre conjoinment of inanimate wood and moon light was capable of separating anything in a flash of lightning, and held a mind of its own such that the witch could outstretch a hand or speak its black name and it would come without a rider.
Eventually, the witch must have perished, but the rumors persisted, even the idea that there had been more than one witch throughout the centuries on this backwater forgotten world. These were relegated to tall tales on certain holidays to scare little children, but recently, the truth was discovered after an archeology mission was sent deep into an ancient swamp. If the rider did not exist, at the very least, it became scholarly fact that their riding implement very much does. The first one discovered became a prized attraction in a museum; a curious memento of a forgotten past long thought to be nothing more than myth. However, to some surprise, it did not end up being the only such Flying Witchblade.
So an enterprising fellow collected a few he could buy off the archeologists and is now holding an auction to see, "Who would like to hold a piece of history?"
OOC: I was challenged, now I deliver.
