The Forbidden Paradise

Chroma Zed
The Forbidden Paradise

"Thanks Pete," Sophia smiled at the bar tender as she took her drink off the counter. Since Sophia really wasn't a drinker she had opted for the special called a Bay Breeze. She forgot what he said was in it only that it was evidently popular.

After stirring the drink a little she turned around in her seat to the scene set out in front of her. The little bar had been set nearby one of the planet's amazing waterfalls. It was beautiful by itself but it was even better at nightfall or at least that is what she heard. Soon Sophia would see for herself as the sun would be setting.

She needed just a little time to herself to stop and breath. She needed to just relax and clear her mind. As of late Sophia had been running nonstop.

Taking a sip of her drink she leaned back in her seat.

Like most that came to Chroma Zed, Dred Varad was here to take a breather. Even a mandalorian warrior needed to take a spin at peace and what better place to do it then on such a planet with vast lushes of beauty to admire as one washes their soul with calm and delight. He did not wear his beskar for that would of defeated his purpose and more then likely unsettle the planet’s patrons if a mando clad in armor and arms roamed about. Instead he wore simple garb, a brown nerf jacket a blackshirt and pants that covered his finely chiselled body. His battle scarred face was freshly shaven with a neatly groomed goatee and recon haircut.

The only weapons the mandalorian donned was a Sacross K 11 blaster pistol holstered under his left armpit and a combat knife sheathed off his left hip. That was pretty naked for a mando but was comfortibale for Dred as he walked un harassed enjoying the sights. His last stop was the forbidden palace.

Dred walked into the fancy bar, his instincts forced him to scan the general area with his naked eyes, a task that was easier completed with his helmet on with the 360 degree view and facial recognition processor. Satisfied and content with the surroundings he made his way to the bar taking perch next to a beautiful woman that seemed to match with the rest of the planet’s richness.

Dred was never a shy man and this day he didn’t want to have a drink alone so he quickly ordered his corellian spiced ale and turned to face his neighbour. “Hello!” He intruded paving way to his introduction “ I am Dred Varad, mind sharing company?”

It was nice to just sit back and enjoy all that had been accomplished on this planet. There was still much to be accomplished but everything was coming along nicely. The tourists were slowly trickling back in and things were finally taking shape. Out of all of the planets that Sophia was Viceroy of this one took the most out of her. It was rewarding though, the citizens loved her and took what she said to heart. They put her plans into action and followed her laws. Sophia also listened to them as she felt that was key to making sure the citizens were happy.

She ought to be reading over the notes for her meeting tomorrow to prepare but she didn't want to miss another sunset. She had promised her secretary that she would go awhile ago. Sophia had kept putting it off until tonight. It just seemed liked the perfect night to relax and let loose a bit. She was stressed out a little and it was starting to show which she didn't want. She was young but that didn't mean she couldn't handle herself.

"Hello," she smiled taking another sip of her drink. He didn't look like a local of the city but that didn't mean he wasn't. Sophia in no way knew everyone here but there were a lot of tourists here too. "Course not, please have a seat. Come to watch the sunset?" Sophia was still wearing the loosely fitted blue dress she had been all day as she had yet to go home. That was because if she had gone home Sophia would have just crashed and missed this view.

Dred gave the woman a nod as he perched himself on the seat beside her. “Yes, the sunshine and other beautiful attractions” He flirtatiously replied looking into her hues with his fierce brown eyes and a smooth smile before reaching for his served Corellian spiced Ale. He took a long swig enjoying the taste all the way down before placing his attention back upon his company.

“What brings you to Chroma Zed, Cyar’ika?” Dred inquired calling her sweetheart in his native tongue for she had not given him a name yet and he was assuming that she was a visitor and not a citizen of this planet.

Sophia couldn't help but blush a little at his words. She received many compliments from those would be suitors but still hadn't got used to it. Taking a sip of her drink she flashed him a smile as her emerald eyes met his brown ones. She hoped that he wouldn't notice as that would be quite embarrassing. "Oh, I'm so sorry how silly of my I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Sophia Walsh and I actually live here. Well, I just move for me but I love it." Sophia didn't give out her big fancy titles as there was no need to. He probably had either heard of her and if not she could just be Sophia. It seemed like such a long time since she could do that and just talk to someone with no politics.

She understood a bit of Mandalorian from a friend of hers so she knew what he called her. Most people she wouldn't let get away with calling her that but she would let him get away with it if only because she wasn't in a confrontational mood plus she did like company despite anything she told herself. "My co-worker says that the waterfall sparkles in the moonlight so I came to see it for myself." She smiled taking another sip of her drink. "If you need any tips on the best sites to see while your here. I'm sure I can point you in the right direction. There is so much here it can get overwhelming."

Dar'manda.

The word burned in the mind of the Mandalorian as he strode forth through the streets of Chroma Zed, distressed at the current state of things. News had reached his ears that the Sith Empire, under the regime of one that had literally been handed the throne, had successfully seized Yaga Minor from the hands of his people. Unimaginable guilt characterized the troubled man, formerly known as Dar'jetii, and from behind the visor that hid his face from view was a pained expression. He blamed himself for this defeat dealt to the Mandalorian people, for he was confident that he could have done something, anything, to assist his people in their plight. Yet, he had turned his back on them, and had even joined the Empire which had struck this blow against them.

Yet, this had changed; for "Dar'jetii" had cut all ties with the Empire and had once again adopted the name which was given to him at birth.

As he walked along, he was regarded as a hero by the native Chromans that crossed his path. They recalled his assistance of the Confederacy in the liberation of their world from a Hutt Warlord, and distinctly burned into their minds the iconic appearance of the tall warrior's armor. Yet, Isley felt far from being a hero, and as such trudged along with sadness clinging to every part of his being. Eventually, he found himself at a rather classy bar, as compared to the hovels that he often found himself in, and walked inside. An initial sweep found the Viceroy of the district, one Sophia Walsh, seated at the bar beside an individual who was quite obviously a warrior. In an effort to be social, Isley strode across the establishment and seated himself at the other stoll beside Sophia.

The Dar'manda then regarded the individual beside her with a nod, then removed his visor before ordering a glass of water from the bartender. There was plenty of time to get wasted, but for right now he wanted to be sociable. "Greetings Viceroy Walsh. Hello good sir, how does this evening find you?"

Well, the beautiful woman had more story to her than just her looks, she was a viceroy….. A lady of much importants and here he was, just a soldier trying his luck. Figures the warrior had a taste for the finer things in life…..expensive tastes at that. He looked at the armor clad mandalorian before him, a fellow brother he did not have the pleasure of meeting tell now. Dred rose from his seat and extended his hand in a formal peaceful greeting….

“Su cuy’gar!” He greeted in their native tongue and accent making Dred’s heritage a dead give away. “I am Dred Varad” The Mandalorian soldier introduced himself to the stranger though it seemed Verd was no stranger to Sophia. It would seem that maybe Dred was the stranger.

“If I’m not intruding on you two, would it be best that we get a bigger table and more rounds of drinks?”

"Su'cuy Vod. The name's Isley Verd," began the Dar'manda in response, praying that uttering his name would not cause a blow to be thrown at his head. "I'd love to sit down and share a drink with one of my brothers, it's been far too long." Indeed, there was so much truth to the young warrior's words. The last interaction he had with the Mandalorian people was the botched mission on Mount Tantiss many moons ago. Aside from that, it had been nothing but Sith, Stormtroopers, Droids, and Templars. It did his heart good to see another one of the Vod, despite the fact that it also wreaked him with unimaginable guilt. Despite this fact, he did his best to maintain sociability and looked to the Viceroy to see if she wouldn't mind joining.

"What do you say, m'lady, any oppositions to sharing a drink with two Vod?"

Sophia had hoped to just be Sophia tonight and not the Viceroy of in her mind the most beautiful district. The cat was out of the bag now so to speak so she would just roll with it. It wouldn't keep her from having fun and having a few rounds with these guys. She wasn't a huge drinker but so would have a drink or two with friends. It would be great to get to know these guys and have a little fun for once. It had been such a long since the last time she took time out for herself. Normally she was found holed up in her office somewhere going over paperwork or sometimes even doing busy work. "Please, call me Sophia and I would love to have a few drinks with you guys. I have met quite a few Mandalorians in my day and I even call some of them friends."

Getting up she slowly began heading to the table a little further from the bar but stopped for a moment to motion for them to follow. "I'll get the first round. What are you guys having?"

Soft steps and an electronic ding announced the entrance of Kaliya as she finally was off duty. She was still considered a grunt amongst the new mandalorian structure but she would climb her way back up. However, for now she would put all of that behind her by ordering herself a round of three twisters knowing that would do her sore muscles some justice. She had hardly noticed the odd pair not too far from her until she felt the presence of a force sensitive.

Even in new age times like this it was rare to see more of her kind within their people. She had to find out more about this man as her interest was surely peaked by this fact. She asked for her drinks to be delivered to their table when they were made as she walked over towards them. She smiled almost bubbily as her first drink already effecting the self proclaimed light weight as she introduced herself "Can a grunt get in on the conversation?" She smiled before centering her attention to @[member="Isley Verd"] extending her hand to attempt to shake his. "I'm Kaliya. . . it's not often I might one of our kind. You must be from an older member than my class?" She asked the man.

Dred Varad could respect a woman in such a high position just to have a night to herself, no titles, no formalities….. Just a woman in good company. Dred wasn’t going to make a stink of it, he himself was playing low key unlike his brethren Verd. Though in reality Verd was living up to the code in the armour aspect and Dred was not.

They had moved down from the bar headed to a larger table when Sophia stopped in her tracks, turning about and offering to pay for the first rounds. A woman after his own heart. Dred gave her an appreciative grin before giving his order “ Correllian Spiced Ale, Sophia! And thank you, next round is on me”.

Dred moved to secure the table quickly noticing that his Mandalorian brother was held up by an attractive female that approached him. “By the manda, I swear I should of worn the beskar’gam. “ He chuckled to himself loud enough for the others to hear “ Like nerfs to the slaughter”.
