Xion Vala
Space Hippie
Yavin 4 a planet that was stomping grounds to many people and force using groups. The ancient Massassai of legend that used to walk the planet are no more due to the acts of one fallen jedi. IT was also the home of jedi in the past. Some of the greatest beings the galaxy had ever known had stomped across these lands and now Xilo walked them. His bare feet stepped through the ankle high grass as he made his way through the vast forest. His empty eye sockets were bare as his head scanned the area as he saw everything through the force.
Xion had done as much research as possible on the planet Yavin, he knew of some of the potential dangers that the planet held, but he cared little. He had only one goal from this trip. To enlighten himself, to free himself of the other jedi who stayed cooped up training for an eventual battle against the Sith. Or they trained hoping it would gain them some type of prestige over their fellow jedi. Xion was all for raising ones rank and going the distance, but not like that. He wanted to find his own path. That’s why he was here, alone and cut off from all other sources of society. He had no technology on him, nothing but him and the clothes upon his back.
Many may judge him, he may even find himself being scolded for sneaking out of the temple without any warning, but he had to do this. Not for power, not for glory, but for himself. Xion craved a deeper understanding of the force, of the gifts he had been granted. No matter how much you were taught, or read it wouldn’t be the same as going out on your own and experiencing the same things on your own.
The memories of how all the other Miraluka judged him were like an exposed nerve to Xion as they came flooding back. How they ridiculed him for being different. For him trying to strive to be something more than what others. What was the point in sitting back and being content with life while all across it wars spread and the innocent loss their lives. It wasn’t right but what did the Miraluka do? They sat back as though if it didn’t involve them it didn’t matter. They were scared, they were complacent. Everything Xion wasn’t. They covered their eyes scared of being judged by others or frightening them, but Xion had accepted it.
Yet and still his family had turned his back on him. Left him alone in a cruel galaxy completely disowning him as though he were nothing but a stain on their life. The ones that he had played with as children looked at him as a villain, as an outcast. All his relations had been taken away from him. Xion was left with nothing and no one to call his own or to even claim to be his friend. Many people don't know what this can do to one, but Xion felt his heart shatter. He had nothing, and thus he left them. He turned his back on his Miraluka heritage the same way they had turned their back on him. On this day Xion vowed that the next time he returned that he would have risen to a height that everyone would marvel at.
Letting his hand scrape across one of the trees as he passed Xion could feel the hard and tough bark of the tree. The fresh aroma of nature filled his nostrils as he made his way along the path. The sound of trickling water could be heard as he neared a clearing. Following the sound he found a area that had probably at one point been a camp site. Off to the right laid a broken and incredibly rusted machination that had an appearance similar to that of a walker used by the Sith. A lone stream flowed freely across the rocks the water clear enough that Xion could see the bottom. Kneeling before the stream he scooped up a handful of water drinking from it. This wasn't processed or put through some type of chemical process like the water he had gotten in the temple. It was fresh, straight from nature. The cold liquid retreated down his throat having almost no flavor but in its own way it was still refreshing.
Finally taking a seat before the stream both legs crossed Xion freed himself. He let go of seeing with the force turning it off as he leaned back and focused on meditating. Slow deep breaths made his chest rise and fall he freed himself of the physical realm and submerged himself in the force. It was like jumping into a pool of water that for some reason was located on Hoth. Xion felt it as the force flowed past and through him. The way it reacted how every living thing was connected to it in some way. Like the crystal snakes that lived on the planet, the howlers and even the deadly Piranha beetles. The force wasn't only in living beings but the plants and trees as well. They radiated with the same energy, but it was as though they had been forgotten. Taken as nothing more than things to be used to craft the creations of the selfish and the greedy. The wildlife was abused by humanoids force to leave their lands and retreat before the destruction that had been caused. Their homes, their children had been lost just as much as any human or other creature of the galaxy.
IT felt as though Xion had felt the history of the planet as he was flooded by the force. His muscles screamed in agony as they began to burn the energy becoming to much, but he didn't want to let go. He wanted the force to know he understood that he wanted to help. Then came the headaches. Xion's head felt as though it was going to split open with all that he had learned being lost. He could even feel blood leaving his nose. Finally with no other choice he awakened from his meditation taking in a deep breath tears staining his cheeks his chest heaving. The physical pain isn't what hurt Xion but it was his pain knowing what had been done to this planet. The way it had been constantly altered by outsiders forced to change. The mass loss of lives. It was painful beyond all belief. The trees that had been cut down in order to build hutts or weapons.
Wiping the blood from his nose Xion was alerted by feeling a presence in the force one of a smaller animal and when he turned he was face to face with a crystal snake. Reaching out with the force he touched the creature feeling it, and understanding it. Xion had read about the creatures and knew their bit would put him into a deep sleep but he still risked sticking his hand out to the creature. The snake reared back seeming as though it would but but then it laid its head down in Xion's hand as it began to snake it's way up his arm before coming to a rest around his neck. Xion was no longer alone. He had something he cared about now. He found a new appreciation for everything on this planet, even the creatures that weren't native.
