SETTING INFORMATION
Military Base Name: First Order Security Bureau Archives.
Classification: Archives/Records Facility.
Location: Hoth.
Affiliation: First Order, First Order Security Bureau.
Population: 1500 permanent residents.
Accessibility: The Archival facility is isolated but not hidden. The location of Hoth was chosen for a reason, as the hostile outside conditions makes the base difficult to attack or break into. The Facility is only accessible to First Order personnel with the appropriate clearance, which includes agents of the First Order Security Bureau, and Army and Navy personnel of significant rank. The Archival facility is located 10 kilometres from the Hoth Naval Yard, and heavily relies on that facility for most of its defence. The extensive facility is still heavily guarded, however, as it houses some of the Galaxy’s most sensitive information.
Description: At a glance, the FOSB Archival facility appears to be a series of small low buildings, serving as a defence post for the larger Naval Yard a few kilometres away. Upon further inspection, the Facility is actually a large underground base, connected with a series of twisting tunnels. Most floors are dedicated to housing the FOSB’s records and sensitive information, with the rest used to run the base and house its occupants.

POINTS OF INTEREST

Main Hangar (Deck A, Sublevel 1-10.)
With a diameter of 250m, the Facility’s main hangar is designed for transport ships, and all but the largest of military corvettes. Larger ships arriving at the facility will be required to land at the nearby Naval Yard. The main purpose of the Main Hangar is to house cargo vessels, transporting records from Security Bureau bases over to the Archival Facility. The Main Hangar also houses two TIE squadrons, which are supplied by the Naval Yard, but kept within the Hangar to assist in defending the Facility. The Main Hangar is staffed by 50 maintenance crew, and 10 Air Traffic Controllers.

Shield Generator (Deck A, Sublevel 1- Ground Floor.)
The Archival Facility’s shield generator is located 500m from the Main Hangar. Its purpose is to generate a deflector shield if the Facility comes under attack. The shield is staff by 20 personnel at all times, and can be online 5 minutes after it has been powered up. The shield is capable of withstanding fire from capital-grade weapons for no more than an hour, after which times the shield will overload and become unusable until it is repaired.

Walker Bay (Deck A, Sublevel 1-Ground Floor.)
The Walker Bay is staffed by 30 personnel, including two walker crews. The Bay houses two AT-AW walkers. The walkers are kept ready to respond to any threat to the Archival Facility, to but time while assistance arrives from the Naval Yard.

Residential Block (Deck A, Sublevel 5-10.)
The Residential Block is made up of a series of interconnected dorms and bunks used to house the 1500 staff that operate the Archival Facility. The bunks are split into three sections. The Stormtrooper bunks are the most basic dormitories, used by the garrison of 200 snowtroopers used to defend the base. Dorms consist of 20 people per room. The second sections of the block is the Security Bureau bunks, which are located a level below the stormtrooper bunks. The Security Bureau bunks house both the FOSB Staff permanently located on the base, and visiting personnel. Dorms typically consist of 3-5 people per room. The last bunks are the Officer Bunks. These are used to house important visitors, as well as the base’s most high ranking officers, including the Garrison Commander, the Facility’s Site Director, and any Security Bureau personnel of Station Chief rank or higher.

Records Department A (Deck B, Sublevel 1-8.)
Records Department A is the Archival Facilities largest data storage area. Department A contains Security Bureau logistical information. Department A has two sections, consisting of High Security and Low Security. The Low Security section contains data on food, ammo, and other supply systems, as well as finances, and legal documentation. The High Security section contains data on FOSB installations, currently operating starships, and mission reports. Deck A is where the civilian files are kept. If the Bureau investigates someone, or makes an arrest, that person’s file eventually ends up in Department A.

Records Department B (Deck B, Sublevel 9-10.)
Records Department B contains high-clearance information, mostly consisting of base defences, technology blueprints, prototype technology, and, most importantly an up-to-date list of all current FOSB personnel. Deck B also contains lists of informants and spies, as well as how and where to contact them. Department B is the my high-security area that can be accessed by most agents of the FOSB, and can only be done so on a case-by-case basis with the appropriate clearance.

Records Department C (Deck C, Sublevel 1.)
The exact contents of Department C is not common knowledge, even within the staff of the base. Only the Site Director, and a few select FOSB personnel have access to the data housed there. It is rumoured that Department C contains critical and highly sensitive information on the First Order’s top brass, a goldmine of information on the leadership of the Galaxy’s most powerful political faction. It is also rumoured to house secret technology, and future plans for the First Order. In reality, this is just rumour, and the actual contents of the department are only known by those with access.

Operations Level (Deck C, Sublevel 2-10.)
The Operations Level refers to everything below Department C, and consists of everything needed to keep the Archival Facility running, including laundry facilities, kitchens, maintenance corridors, and an underground transport network designed to ferry staff between the main facility, the Main Hangar, the Engine Room, and the Shield Generator Complex. The Operations Level is by far the most extensive section of the facility, with many sprawling tunnels and corridors as well as numerous shafts and service lifts.

DEFENSES
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Following the threat of the Incursion incident, and with the evolution of the First Order Security Bureau into a more active organisation, the Security Bureau’s leadership decided that a more secure location was needed to store the Bureau’s most important information. It had been established that the site on Dosuun was no longer suitable, and the search for a proper location to house the Archival Facility. After careful deliberation, Hoth was chosen for a few reasons. First, the Bespin system was heavily defended following the attack by the Galactic Alliance. Second, the snowy planet was isolated and inhospitable, making it almost inaccessible to outsiders, and third, a nearby Naval Yard provided the appropriate level of security that’d be required for a site of such importance. After 6 months of construction, the archives were operational, and the rest of the underground base was added around the three main decks. The top buildings and defences were added last, the cherry on top of a top secret cake. A Site Director was chosen, and all remaining records ferried to the facility, which now serves as a bastion of First Order intelligence.
