The Future of Emeritus Industries [Vitor Imperieuse]

| [member="Vitor Imperieuse"] |

Circe Savan had died. At least, that was what Alicia Drey and the rest of the galaxy thought. In her place, Vitor Imperieuse had taken control of the fifty percent stake in Emeritus Industries. The question then was what was the future of Emeritus Industries?

Alicia required Emeritus. Although it was a shadow of it's former self, lost during the fall of Subach-Innes, Emeritus still had access to technology that Alicia Drey required. It still turned a nice profit and it was a name that was famous in the galaxy. There was no such thing as bad publicity.

The venue was Chandrila, Hanna City. Sat at a table, Alicia wore the clothes that was associated with her. Wealth. Conceit. Power. Folding one leg over the other, she waited for her new business partner to arrive. They had much to discuss.

The man known as Vitor Imperieuse had never expected this to be thrust upon him by Vanessa Kuhn - silently the Sith Lady known as Circe Savan. Still, the other half owner of the company seemed to desire a meeting with him, and it was likely in his best interests to ensure good relations. The one thing he failed to know, though, was that Alicia was a powerful Force user.

Soon, he would sit down, smiling at the woman as best he could. "Well... What did you need me for?"

Alicia lifted her gaze to Vitor, as he took a seat across from her. She had not heard of Vitor Imperieuse before and that concerned her, as she felt like she knew all of the names in the galaxy. Now, here sat across her a practical stranger, in charge of a corporation that Alicia had ties too since she had been a child.

"You recently came into the fifty percent stake of Emeritus Industries. I also hold fifty percent. This makes us business partners. I like to know who I am working with and if I do not like you, then I will sell my fifty percent and leave you to your new business."

"I invited you for dinner, so please, feel free to order something. And in the mean time, you can tell me who you are, where you come from and how the hell you came into Emeritus in the first place?"

Alicia had already ordered her favourite spaghetti carbornara and was waiting for it to be served. Tapani spaghetti, Corellian chicken and mushrooms grown on Chandrila herself. Delicious.

"I'll go for a simple nerf steak." He nodded. "As for who I am - I'm Vitor Imperieuse. Void-born. I was given the fifty percent by Vanessa Kuhn when she retired." He shrugged. "More than that I can hardly say. There wasn't much of a reason I received it - I hardly know Kuhn." Of course, she knew him - he had done work for her when she was Circe. "What about yourself, Miss Drey? What can you tell me about you?"

Perhaps he would learn something about his partner.

"I am a business woman from Chandrila, which is why we are meeting here. I inherited my fathers company, Chandrila DataTech, around eight years ago and I recently sold it to a friend, so that I could focus on a new project called Chandrila Group."

"I realized that there was going to be a shortage of supply for foodstuffs and other necessities that were becoming or had gone missing since the end of the last age (Four Hundred Year Darkness) and with the recent attack, that resulted in Corellia being destroyed, I wanted to focus on the foodstuffs industry."

"I took fifty percent in Emeritus, so that I could use it's facilities to help me supply my food around the galaxy. Which is why I designed the Acavus bulk cruiser and harvester with Emeritus, of which Chandrila Group uses."

"I like to think of myself as an humanitarian and alienitarian. I want to help people. What do you want, Vitor?"

Her meal was served. But she did not begin eating it. She waited for Vitor to reply, before she would tuck in.

"That's... very respectable, Alicia." He smiled. "Caring about people suffering and doing what you can to alleviate their situation is a proper way to handle things." As for what he wanted, he pondered for a bit, raising the eyebrow as he did so. "I want to see this conflict eliminated. People constantly wasting their time fighting over varying Force doctrines, claiming their side is the best like some sort of child."

"And the best way to do that is to get the peace made, run by people who actually care about fairness and equality. Balance."

"And are you the person to do that?" Alicia responded. Picking up her fork, she scoped up the pasta and began to eat. The cheese sauce was delicious, with cut pieces of chicken mixed in. Chewing with her mouth closed, Alicia listened to Vitor's response.

"Certainly." He nodded. "But I can only do it with your assistance. If not... that will make things difficult, but I'll still proceed onwards." He sighed, continuing onwards as his steak arrived, cutting into it slowly. "So... will you?"

He smiled, taking a bite from his steak.

"That depends." Alicia swallowed her forkful of pasta, before taking several more bites. After clearing her throat, she went on to say. "It is entirely dependent on what you know about Emeritus. It's history. What you know and don't know."

"I know it was built off the ruins of Subach-Innes. Many of the patents and designs held by Subach are now in Emeritus' hands. You also seem to have another, deeper agenda, all things considered." He sighed. "I can only hope you believe in the same right and wrong that I do."

If she didn't... things could go wrong.

"We have reached a critical juncture with Emeritus Industries history, Vitor." Alicia washed her mouth with the cup of water that she had ordered with her meal, swallowed and smacked her lips before continuing. "Either one of us could get up and leave this table. We could part amicably. Friends, if you like."

She went onto explain. "If I get up from this table, then it will result with the liquidation of my assets in Emeritus. I will take with me the patents, for the designs that I have made for Emeritus over the years. Nothing in comparison to the founder and what she did for the company, but significant."

"If you force me to give up my shares and abandon Emeritus, then you force me to begin anew. That's unacceptable, but something I will be forced to do because that deeper agenda you spoke about is dangerous and you have no place in learning what it is."

"If you force me to do these things, then I will be forced to respond in kind. I will destroy Emeritus Industries. Then I will destroy you."

Lowering her hand into the hand bag that rested by her feet, Alicia produced an envelope and passed it across to Vitor. Inside was an agreement, which if signed, would pass over the remaining fifty percent stake that Vitor held on Emeritus Industries over to Alicia Drey, including all rights and ownership to it's property, patents and designs.

"Alternatively, you can open that envelope, you can sign it and none of what I just said has to happen. I will pay you fifteen million every year, for the rest of your life. I can even make the dream that you spoke of come true, given enough time."

Falling silent, Alicia returned to her meal. She ate quietly, eyes on the plate.

"There is, of course, a third option." Vitor analyzed the contents of the envelope even as he continued to speak with her. "The motion of you choosing to up and leave the company is wrong. You've been here longer than I have, and I have no intents on trying to force you out. That would be improper behavior on my part, and as an honorable man, I'm not going to treat you with such a level of disrespect."

"In concert, though, I was given access to this half of the company for a reason. What it is, I have yet to determine, but there must be one. There is much more to be gained on a per year basis from my personal position, rather than pulling out." He tapped his fingers on the desk before folding up the document handed to him by Alicia, still unsigned, and carefully placin it back in the envelope.

"The third option is that we do this professionally. We each have fifty oercent of te company's stock. We can not do anything without the other's assistance - and I want to work together with you to ensure the company has a bright future. The other options I will not pursue."

Still, if this worked - he would remember her agenda. "A question... Do you have any children, Miss Drey?"

"No. I do not."

She lied through her teeth. Lifting her gaze to a nearby waitress, she asked for her plate to be taken away and the bill. When the plate was taken away and the bill placed, Alicia removed the amount of credits to pay for both meals.

Folding her hands on top of the envelope, she straightened herself out. "With you removed from the picture, by handing me your other half, I do not require your assistance. By simply edging you, I gain full control of the company."

"Whereas you gain more money by remaining in your current position than fifteen million per annual year, I would say that you value your life more. I would also say fifteen million credits is worth more to you, than the remains of the corporation that I will burn down, if you fail to sign these documents."

"I have been doing this for a long time. I am giving you the opportunity to part ways amicably, without a full loss. Please, sign this."

She slid the envelope back to him. The last chance saloon. Failure to comply resulted in them becoming enemies. Emeritus Industries had a lot of enemies already. It could do without creating another one.
