The Future of the Sith Assassins.

There have been talks within the backgrounds about the potential future of the Sith Assassins, and to put it as simple as possible, there is a very large change we will be leaving the One Sith.

The options are pretty simple!

Join the Covenant of the Black Rose and make a new major faction, where we'd be a minor faction. We'd have control on what we do, but at the end of the day it would be similar to the One Sith, just different leadership.

Stay with the One Sith, where we'd be a minor faction. We'd still have every thing we do, but there have been some issues as we all know, and we'd still be dealing with them.

Or join the Outer Rim Imperium, where we'd be still a minor faction, but have a major say in what goes on and control our own part of space, as well as having more people.

Questions, concerns, post em below.

So...it was actually brought to my attention that this discussion was occurring. So a few things -

The One Sith has come under fire recently. Between the Rebel Alliance, the talk from the republic who are fire and brim stone in reference to the OS, and from even our own ranks in reference to how we aren't acting very Sithy. I can't explain except that people are obviously upset. We have spent a lot of time trying to treat this as an above board situation, retaining most of our defense in silence as people continue to troll the OS on open topics. I realize that this drama is an issue for you all, it's an issue for everyone, and I think it will eventually blow over. However, separating isn't a solution to this but more an acceptance that it's working. Breaking apart in the face of this sort of pressure is only accepting that we were incapable of withstanding it. The Sith have always garnered hatred from the numerous critics, that wont change so long as you are part of any major faction that is Sith focused.

Some of you all feel that there is some sort of clique involved in the OS. This is something we have heard many times before and is absolutely absurd. The One Sith has one of the most open and friendly atmospheres available, you are literally allowed to do anything that you want. Starting a sub faction, for instance, was an award given to Darth Ferus in reward for his performance during Netherworld events (of course you all had to earn it and your activity proved the viability of the Sub-faction beyond initial consideration - which was the requested reward). Literally anyone can start a dominion if they so choose, or do a training event, or do a skirmish or mission or anything. If you have ever had an issue, the admins were merely one private message away. Even then, the easiest way to get a hold of most of the admins was through skype, and I have never not accepted a friend from someone on skype or refused to speak to them. The admins of the OS have always maintained an open door policy in this regard. We want people to do things, to be active and have initiative.

Some of you all don't like that the admins of the OS snoop into their sub factions? Well, typically, sub factions are part of the major faction as a forum embedded within it (i.e. hrosha-gul, legion yun'do, vahla, etc.). But, in defense of this, until I was aware that this vote was occurring, I had never been involved or part of the minor faction (and that extends to the Admins). Perhaps critical of the admin is that we weren't involved in the faction itself and to this I would respond: The admins have been knee deep in dealing with OOC drama. We have barely had the time to write our own stories, focusing instead on dominions or skirmishes or anything assisting the faction as a whole. So while we haven't partaken so much in the assassins, we haven't partaken in much in general.

I'm saddened to see this vote come up without a single message from any member or an issue of grievance to me. Things can't be fixed if we don't know it's broken. I think we should stay together but I have no intent to sway the vote, seeing as though I'm not an active member of the sub faction. Needless to say I'll be disappointed if we aren't at least given the opportunity to mend these issues, as they have been called.

Cheers and good luck with whatever choice you make.

Sorry, it won't let me vote. I don't personally have a problem with the OS, I enjoy being part of them *and* the SA. I'd rather we stay like this than cause more drama than what was happening.

I've had no troubles and people have been very accepting.

I don't know whose idea it was to start this great debate but it seems rather personally driven. You aren't forced to be part of drama. The SA can still be with the OS.

I'm partial to agree with [member="Reverance"] here that I thought this ought the be handled out of the forums. Personal differences aren't things to bring to the RP community. I know that I'm new to Chaos but that's my opinion. There's going to be personal differences anywhere.

So my vote is to stay with our allies and to try and smooth things over.

The Attention Seeker
So I have never paid much attention to the politics that goes on here. Been there done that don't feel like going through it again. So I am not entirely certain what is going on. Some links to topics to understand the context would be helpful.

Anyways I can't even imagine the sith assassins without the one sith. That throws my head through soo many loops. Story wise I don't know how I'd be able to explain that. I think my character would look at it treachery and be torn between the one sith and Ferus. While that could make for some fun story it's a bit too much of a change for me to handle.

A smaller group would probably benefit me. As many of you know I have never been a fan of large groups and topics. I suppose its nostalgia and story aspect that makes me want to keep things they way they are and lately things for my character have been taking a turn I don't like. However in the interest of organic story I've been going with it. Some of my reluctance I guess comes from seeing this as a ship that could sink at any moment. As someone who own a business of their own I know you can't do everything yourself and Ferus has been doing exactly that. He keeps talking of a break which he needs and keeps not doing it.

Sorry if its a bit off topic. It's just the process I have to go through to reach something. I'd like the assassins to stay with OS but that's just me and my own selfish desires. If they do split I'll find my way I always do. And that way probably won't be with the assassins. It's just not the path I want to take. Whatever the result though I hope it turns out great for everyone involved.

Some context to this would be really helpful. [member="Darth Ferus"]

I've been following this debate for the last few days since I came back from my reduced posting week and weekend LOA. My initial reaction was a clear and resounding no to splitting. After reading back and forth through the reasons and thoughts, I still think the Sith Assassins belong with the One Sith. If we have issues, then we can work them out together.

Simply my two credits on the matter of where we go from here.

I still don't know exactly what lead to this even being considered, but [member="Reverance"] i think it has to do with certain tendencies and things the OS are Marked for that some members of the SA don't want to be associated with.
i stand with my master [member="Darth Ophidia"] no split

The votes are now closed.
The numbers, as they stand.
Major Group : 7
Stay with the OS : 8
ORI : 2
We will be staying with the One Sith.
(For those wondering why there is 8 for the OS despite the vote up top saying only 7, Nyte's vote couldn't be entered that way)
This thread will be closed, and a new one will be made in light of all that has come forward.
[member="Reverance"] gets a tag as I'm not sure if he'll get the mass PM about it.
