The GA are invading!!! (GA Invading DULVOYINN)

As it stands the GA are going to be Invading Dulvoyinn on the 5th of June. So who's going to sign up for this one? The draft for the objective will be coming in once Myself and the Ga have done drafting them up. The invasion will mostly take place in space and as such this will allow all of you psychopaths to practice your boarding actions and sabotaging. For those that fear this will be a fleeting battle there won't be, the setting will be a fleet battle but individual ships can engage one another for those that wish to do that, starfighter dog fights can also be done along with boarding actions and battles aboard space stations.

Let's all give it our all to make it a good story and have fun shall we?

The Invasion will be split into two sectors. Sector One is for boarding action. Sector Two is for fleeting. These sectors will not interact with each other.

Sector One - Boarding Action

Above Dulvoyinn, titanic battleships rip into each other with all manner of weaponry. Enormous ships crewed by thousands of brave souls, with hulls meters thick and shields powered by generators the size of houses. The battle between these giants could rage not for hours, but for days. Weeks.

The Alliance does not have the time, nor does the One Sith. Both sides need to settle the conflict swiftly, for fear of the other’s approaching reinforcements.

Boarding orders have been given and now heroes on both sides must find their way onto the enemy’s flagships. Some have orders to sabotage, others to capture.
All know how high the stakes are and how each moment that passes is another capital battery raking a hapless corvette from prow to stern, taking hundreds of lives in the process.

Boarding Action will take place on the following ships:
The Alliance Flagship - ANS Fondor’s Aegis
http://starwarsrp.net/topic/15815-solo-class-command-ship/

A former Omega Protectorate battleship, the Solo-class has been turned into the flagship of Task Force Moridena. Capture of command personnel would be pivotal in bringing this battle to a swift conclusion. The loss of the flagship, by capture or sabotage, would be enormously demoralizing to the Alliance, thus it is considered priority number one.

The Alliance Carrier - ANS Belshazzar
http://starwarsrp.net/topic/9124-belsar-class-command-carrier/

Another Protectorate ship recommissioned into the Alliance Navy, the Belsar-class is integral to the power projection of the Alliance as it houses a good portion of Task Force Moridena’s starfighters. Elimination, capture, or sabotage of the Belshazzar would render the deployed squadrons without resupply for munitions and fuel, shortening the Alliance’s ability to continue to fight. As the Alliance relies heavily on their small starfighters, this is considered priority number two.

The OS flagship - The Immortal Titan
http://starwarsrp.net/topic/41883-the-immortals/

As one of the Immortal class of ships among the OS this was chosen as the lead flagship for the Cerberus's fang Task force, one of the first Immortals ever built and among the most successful among the Immortals. Commanded by an experienced and talented Commander that has time and time again declined promotion due to his wish to continue commanding The Immortal Titan. His sterling reputation and the reputation of The Immortal Titan has cemented the ship as a great source of Morale within the task force, and it's crew would rather die than to allow the ship to be taken, sabotaged or destroyed for such an act would inflict a mighty blow to the task force's morale.

The OS Carrier - The Hungering Mynock
http://starwarsrp.net/topic/36339-wyyrlok-class-star-destroyer/

The Hungering Mynock has a similar reputation as The Immortal Titan and both have served in the same fleet's almost since embarking from their drydocks, as such they are nigh inseparable with The Immortal Titan providing the heavy fire and very limited interceptor support with The Hungering Mynock providing Starfighter, bomber and limited fire support. As a team the two ships have garnered a ruthless reputation of efficiency and brutality in space combat. With the destruction, sabotage or capture of The Hungering Mynock the Task force's two greatest ships will loose most of the fighter screen and the bomber support along with a good chunk of the Task forces morale as well.
In order to get to the ships, you’ll have to figure out how to get past the shields. Either by pulling an Anakin and taking out the hangar shields to gain direct entry into the hangar, or by using technology that allows you to bypass shields, or some other clever method.
Additionally, all writers should remember that ‘duel counts’ no longer matter. What does matter is why you duel and where you duel. Aka, the story you tell. Are you fighting to hold a crucial hallway that leads into the Belshazzar’s main reactor? Or maybe you’re trying to plant a bomb inside the life support systems of the Fondor’s Aegis. Whatever you’re doing, remember to respect the opposition’s capabilities, NPC and PC alike. Enormous starships aren’t easy to capture, or sabotage. They have defenses and they will be ready. Yes, it is Star Wars, but even Star Wars is grounded in its own sense of realism.

For those wondering how to start, here are a few resources to look up/remember. Boarding actions in Battlefront II Space Battles, Obi-Wan and Anakin boarding Grievous’ capital ship, Darth Vader and his stormtroopers taking the Corellian blockade runner.

Sector Two - Fleet Engagement

At the edge of the Dulvoyinn system, the rest of the fleets engage each other. Each side will receive 10 kilometers worth of ship length to split up between admirals etc. as they see fit.
Remember that the ships listed in Sector One are not to be engaged by ships listed in Sector Two as they will be considered to be in separate, unreachable parts of the battlefield.
Lastly, pilots of starfighters are free to take part and hop in between either sector, for the fluidity of the storyline.

Allies & Alts:

5 Ally Slots per Faction, as according to the rules.
No PC Alt Limit

Grand Admiral, First Order Central Command
I believe it's meant to use space as the setting, but there's plenty of possibilities for ground-based objectives as well. Boarding actions, defending space stations, etc. While I imagine the intent is to avoid the usual 'large armies on the ground' I figure that targeted strikes to eliminate planetary defenses and the like would also be part of it. I think the Battle of Coruscant from Ep III was cited as an example, and of course what we don't see in that scene is the fact that the planet would have been supporting the defense via weapon emplacements, troops, reinforcements, etc. A good invader would want to stop that support, not to mention that even in Ep III they did somehow capture Palpatine.

So I think there's plenty of room to work with, say, giant heavy artillery walkers, even with the focus being on space.

*thanks for the updated info
Anything I said below was addressed :D

[member="Raien Keth"] or Kylath will be there of course, depending if we want an acolyte or knight to balance numbers.

If we are bringing alts, Raien, Kylath and Sera, or Kelon will be there. So that is the first question, are we bringing alts, if so how many. How many active writers do we have vs theirs etc, to balance it out for story purposes. As that's the new focus isn't it writing a good story, so getting equal characters sounds like a first step if either side needs them.

I do believe we are at a disadvantage in space, you are great [member="Cyrus Tregessar"], you really are (and are going to shine in this one) but how many admirals are they bringing? Vs How many do we have. Like I said in chat though, if the fleeting is balanced, and a large portion of actions take place via boarding or a space station etc, its all good.

The dogs come running in their foolish crusade against the darkness. The last time we fought you were brought back to this world, shall we show them our wrath? Bring down our fury upon these foolish interlopers?

Oohh. I get to read the first invasion under the new rule set.

Hope to see quite the story from you folks. Mostly cause that's the only way you can win now, but also to see if this'll get more people writing together.

Especially [member="Mythos"] . I see you.

Anyway in which Gravis can help, let me know.

He can't fly for crud. He can fight but from an o.o.c. standpoint it has been YEARS since I've written an actual fight with another person.

I also cannot guarantee posting in the thread daily.

If this is still ok, I'd like to help.

Oh boy! A space battle! Been waiting for one of these for a while to finally get to using the Paladank.

I can help in either boarding or fleeting, though I have zero experience with the latter, and only a bit with the former.

Whichever way I can help best!
