The Skakoan sat within the ornate chambers on board the Meniium-Scrani Industrial Station, contemplating the upcoming meeting with the InterGalactic Banking Clan and the Velcar Free Commerce Zone. The Trade Federation experienced significant growth, expanding its influence by assimilating numerous companies and planets.

However, despite their formidable grip, the galaxy was gradually slipping away from their control due to the ongoing core war between the Galactic Alliance and the Dark Empire which threatened the powerbase set up by the former Director and Chairman of the Board Gat Tambor during the height of the New Imperial Order.

It was crucial for the Commanding Viceroy to guarantee that trade agreements were negotiated, in the utmost interest of the conglomerate. With unwavering determination, he commenced the composition of a formal invitation for the representatives of the two factions to convene with him within the chamber.

Provided the galactic powers would collaborate, they held the potential to shape the financial trajectory of the galaxy for a significant span of years, enough to overcome even a major financial collapse should Coruscant, the Crown Jewel of the Galaxy fall to either side.

As the invitations were sent out, Laborr made preparations for the meeting. The Central Chamber was a sight to behold, with its view of the orbit and gleaming marble facades. The halls were adorned with priceless works of art and intricately woven tapestries depicting the history of the Trade Federation. Laborr spared no expense in ensuring that the delegates would be impressed by the opulence of their surroundings.

"AWWEEOEOROR...Gentleman. I apologize for such short notice, but the Core War has just begun with the invasion of Coruscant as you both have likely been informed. We stand on the brink of a great conflict, one that will test our strength and resolve like never before. There are boundless opportunites for profits, should either the Dark Empire or the Galactic Alliance emerged victorious over the planet."

He explained, adjusting the suit mechanics.

During the journey towards the Meniium-Scrani, there were numerous matters that demanded contemplation. Despite the Sith Empire's endeavors to nationalize them and the exploitation by the New Imperial Order, the InterGalactic Banking Clan managed to endure, displaying their resilience.

However, they were not completely exempt from potential threats, as rumors circulated that the Dark Empire might seek to incorporate their territories under their dominion to finance such grand designs.

Sufficient efforts were made to enhance the security measures surrounding Scipio, although they would prove inadequate in thwarting the Imperial Navy's takeover. Nevertheless, such measures would manage to impede their progress, allowing ample time for their represenatives to empty the Galactic Accounts and relocate them to more secure sectors within the galaxy.

Moving into the Grand Chamber of the Station, the Muun Deputy Director offered a cordial bow to the Commanding Viceroy of the Federation. Before taking a seat nearby, to contemplate the message spoken.

Coruscant, was an important planet in the financial world having thousands of corporations and trading guilds scattered across the city-scape. Should it fall to the Dark Empire, then it would triple their industrial productions by a considerable amount.

"Boundless profits frequently lead to risky investments in the pursuit of higher returns, Viceroy Laborr. The significance of the planet Coruscant remains paramount, despite the Galactic Alliance's relocation to the Fortress World of Fondor, as they simply cannot afford to relinquish it to the emerging Imperial Empire of Carlac, in doing so they would give them legitimacy over all Imperial Governments and Warlord States."

The Muun explained with his typical nasily voice, leaning back on the chair in thought. Coruscant would be a financial death trap for anyone to undertake, if it was heavily damaged in the engagement.

The Velcar Free Commerce Zone had been of little consideration to the Galactic Powers of yesteryear such as the New Imperial Order and the Sith Empire before them.

The Galactic Alliance had also turned a blind eye to the Zone, to their own disadvantage given the war over Coruscant. Entralla, a crucial Imperial World and a valuable ally of the Commerce Zone, played a significant role in its success.

If the planet were to be integrated into the Dark Empire, it would ensure a steady supply of goods and services to the rest of the Zone. As a result, the Zone's significance and influence would grow, making it a force to be reckoned with in the galaxy while remaining generally undetected.

The Quarth Magnate had been on Coruscant, before the invasion and had noticed the downtrotten who could not afford to leave the system, and so it was bitterly sweet that it would play a crucial role in the financial world.

The Repulsorlift Couch moved into the Grand Chamber, spotting the Deputy Director of the IGBC and the Viceroy of the Federation. These two individuals practically controlled the affairs of the galaxy, with the TF Standardized Credit and the Galactic Standard Credit being used by almost all galactic factions.

"Apologize for my lateness to this little gathering, busy times for the Free Commerce Zone. While there is little doubt that the fate of the Crown Jewel of the Core wil give us endless profitable ventures, as the galactic city will need to be repaired and repaved for either side of the conflict. We need to look beyond one planet, and consider the galaxy as a whole, dozens of planets still remain undiscovered and many more lack the governments needed for proper economic foundations."

The Quarth said, with a booming echo. The Core Region was highly profitable and Coruscant even more so, but there still existed planets that didn't bow to the whims of the Corporate World.

The Skakoan offered a shrwed glance behind the armored googles of the pressure suit, revealing a hint of cunning as he surveyed the ornate room. Such a gaze lingered on the two individuals present, assessing their reactions to the information presented to them with a very keen eye. It became clear why they had been chosen to lead their respective organizations across the galaxy.

They possessed a unique combination of intelligence, greed and data-driven approaches that allowed them to effectively communicate and collaborate with the Commanding Viceroy on such a grand design.

The Deputy Director of the IGBC, assessment was right on the credit as Coruscant was the key to finally establishing the Dark Empire as a true threat to the hegemony of the Galactic Alliance, one that might galvanize the Federal Assembly to mobilize their assets to its fullest extent which would mean the endless toil of the commonworker within one of the numerous factories and factorums across the galaxy, building tanks, armaments, weaponry, starships and starfighters.

The Quarth's perspective held merit, for while Coruscant held significance, it was overshadowed by the vastness of the galaxy. With abundant untapped resources and systems awaiting exploitation, the Trade Federation, the Banking Clan, and the Velcar Zone could join forces to dominate any compeition throughout the galaxy.

"Your assessments are well noted, my associates. While Coruscant is indeed crucial in the War for the Core, we must not overlook the potential benefits of venturing into uncharted territories and strategically allocating our resources in vital sectors such as the Criminal Underworld, whose market we have yet to fully exploit to our own enrichment. It is important for us to take risks and explore new opportunities in order to expand our horizons and reach new heights. By pushing the boundaries of what is possible and embracing the unknown, we can discover untapped potential and pave the way for innovation and progress."

The Skakoan elaborated, using the suit monotone voice, to stress that caution could be a two-sided blade, possibly causing them to fall behind if they decided to adhere to it instead of taking neccessary risks.

The Muun broke the internal contemplation, when the last member of their meeting finally arrived in the Commerce Master Commissioner Qsere-Nynth Goss. Their suggestion about finding other avenues of profit, away from the war-torn core region was highly interesting to the InterGalactic Banking Clan who had need of the additional capital it would provide in order to stave off the predatory eyes of the Dark Empire.

If they could expand their operations to new territories, then it would allow them to further diversify their various investments across the galaxy to mitigate risks and maximize returns. The Criminal Underworld, as mentioned by the Viceroy, was a territory characterized by its lack of regulation and its willingness to engage in unethical practices in order to obtain credits from a variety of different sources such as Spice and Slavery.

"Securing a position within the criminal syndicates and cartels that dominate the region could potentially serve as a viable option for the Banking Clan to explore. However, it is important to acknowledge the challenges that lie ahead. Our ability to allocate the necessary resources may be hindered by the uncertain nature of our existence, particularly with the looming presence of the Dark Empire."

He replied, finding that the Banking Clan would use the Criminal Underworld to save itself from complete collapse. Yet the Dark Empire's rumored invasion would make such financial movements difficult to achieve.

The Repulsorlift Couch moved very little as the Quarth Magnate thought over the statements from his fellow businessmen and entrepreneurs. The Criminal Underworld was a volatile market, one not considered economically sound if violence and guns were the only deciding factor in one's growth.

In such a cutthroat environment, survival often depended on more than just brute force and aggression which would serve them well.

The Banking Clan was in a tough position as mentioned by the Deputy Director, with the Dark Empire breathing down their necks. Although it mattered very little if the Alliance or the Imperials emerged as the reigning government so long as they still considered the Velcar Free Commerce Zone as a stable region for investment purposes.

"Entrusting criminals and cartels with the responsibility of overseeing lawful businesses would undoubtedly expose us to the perils of gang conflicts rather than achieving economic supremacy. Hence, it is imperative that we divert our attention towards the Outer Rim and the Inner Rim, both regions characterized by unstable governance and apprehension towards Sith Expansionary Efforts. By equipping them with weaponry and armaments to counter such coercion, we can forge valuable alliances extending beyond the Imperials and the Alliance."

The Quarth said, with a booming echo. The Criminal Underworld was far too unstable for them to make sufficent capital, and so they should focus on arms manufacturing for the Outer Rim and the Inner Rim to resist future expansion.

The doors to the assembly slid open with a hiss and a slender figure strolled in with an almost casual step and an air of elegance. A long robe of shimmering dark blue silk flowed down his skeletal form, faint silver patterns reminiscent of ancient Givin star charts embroidered the fabric. Luxurious velvoid lined the high collar and wide cuffs, while a belt interlinked with small metallic plates engraved with esoteric symbol tied it all together.

"Apologies, gentlemen. I was caught up in another meeting." Akash Guul waved a hand, then pulled the small commlink from his ear, "But I was able to follow your conversation on my way here."

He took a seat across the deputy director of the IGBC and placed the datapad in his hands on the table. News and reports scrolled down its screens relaying information on the escalating debt of the Alliance and the supply chain crisis forming along major hyper routes due to the Core Wars that had recently escalated to new heights.

Dimming the screen of the datapad, Akash steepled his fingers in front of his chin and spoke: "I concur that there is growth potential in the Expansion Region and the Inner Rim, however, our expansion may be impeded with the potential rising cost of borrowing given the Alliance's ceaseless passing of social bills."

"We need a strong response against these populist bills and demand fiscal reforms."

The Skakoan offered a long-silent glance at the entrance as the Settlement Officer, Akash Guul, made an appearance. The Givin was a mathematical genius and a considerable lieutenant to the Viceroy.

His prescence always commanded attention, his sharp intellect and strategic thinking made him an invaluable asset to the Trade Federation as there was a shift away from relying on the former Chancellor of the Galactic Alliance, Aerarii Tithe who's recent actions have questioned their stance of neutrality during war times.

The InterGalactic Banking Clan faced a precarious situation, as indicated by the deputy director, due to the Dark Empire's interest in controlling that particular sector of space for the purpose of stabilizing their economic activities and constructing superweapons.

The potential consequences of the Banking Clan being ousted from their long-held planets would have devastating effects on the galactic economy, a scenario that even the Galactic Empire was unwilling to endorse.

Commissioner Qsere-Nynth, however, harbored greater concerns regarding the potential obstacles associated with their involvement in the Criminal Underworld. This apprehension was justified, considering the unpredictable nature of criminal syndicates.

While the proposal to dispatch weapons and military equipment to both the Inner Rim and the Outer Rim aimed at curbing the advancement of the Sith in the future, it promised substantial financial gains over an extended duration. These gains would not only enable them to recoup their initial investment but also yield additional profits.

"Unfortunately, the Galactic Alliance is not as it once was. The current Chancellor Auteme's lackluster leadership has caused an intolerable rift within the Senate. Where once free business was allowed to flourish, it has since been handicapped by the socialist and populist idealism, causing a phase reduction of our profits by a wide margin. I have already directed our two represenatives within the Senate to impede any of these future bills from coming to the floor, yet they may not be enough. So I will suggest that we raise interest-rates and begin taxing hyperspace routes to cover our losses."

The Skakoan explained to them, knowing that the Office of the Chancellor was not doing enough to support them. The only solution would be to raise interest-rates and begin taxation of hyperspace routes to cover any losses from this administration's reckless spending.

Givin expressions were hard to read, but the closure of Akash's lipless mouth indicated a grimace. Indeed, as the Viceroy mentioned, the Trade Federation's influence in the Senate had waned; the rise of populist senators during the decades of peace after the Second Hyperspace War had passed numerous bills to curb the hold of corporate interests. But now, with the Core lit aflame by war, there was an opportunity.

"Perhaps we can use the threat of hyper route taxation incline and potential layoffs in our industries as a leverage to push for repelling the Denon Bill, tax cuts and even subsidies. The latter simply being part of the negotiation strategy that we can discard from our proposal during the Senatorial discussions with the aim that we achieve our primary goal - getting rid of the Denon Bill." Akash replied. "With your permission, I am certain Viceroy Grimmin and I can produce a sound case to the Senate."

There was some acknowledgement of the concerns raised by the Commissioner of the Velcar Free Commerce Zone regarding the Criminal Underworld, as it was often consumed in gang warfare and petty squabbles over territory.
The InterGalactic Banking Clan could instead capitalize on the inherent profitability and relative stability of the arms trade within the Inner Rim and the Outer Rim, to halt the Sith Order's expansion efforts within those regions.
Settlement Officer Akash Guul's argument was correct, the Galactic Alliance's emphasis on implementing social bills and programs rather than implementing strict economic measures to combat hyperinflation and increasing loan costs given the war with the Dark Empire. Rulonom Laborr Rulonom Laborr - made the suggestion of raising interest-rates and begin further taxation of hyperspace routes.
"The repeal of the Denon Bill should be a straightforward task considering the enduring influence of the Corporate Authorities of Denon. This enduring influence serves as evidence that the Bill has been ineffective in addressing corporate misconduct. As to the matter of hyperspace taxation, such a scheme is risky given the uncertainty of the galactic frontier, but the Banking Clan should be able to use is influence to raise interest-rates on loans and future credit scheme enacted by the Alliance."

<< I agree with the representative from the Banking Clan that implementing taxes on the hyperspace lanes could potentially alienate numerous independent traders and merchants who rely on these lanes for their business activities. This could result in a shift of resources away from our control and into other parts of the galaxy >>

The Ugnaught elucidated through a sequence of oinks and grunts, demonstrating a profound comprehension that merchant guilds and other corporations would reroute traffic from the taxed areas to unrestricted commerce zones, effectively placing them outside the jurisdiction of the Commerce Zone, the Banking Clan and the Trade Federation.

There was a quick glance exchanged between the members of the council and the Settlement Officer, Akash Guul Akash Guul . It was clear they were contemplating seizing the moment to propose the repeal of the Denon Bill, a controversial piece of legislation that had restricted corporate ownership and interests on Alliance Planets.

Despite its intention to curb the influence of the Denon Corporate Powers, the bill had not been as effective as hoped, as the corporate government still held a significant amount of authority.

<< It is conceivable that a method could be devised to disrupt the stability of the Denon planet, leading to the downfall of the Corporate Authorities. In their absence, the bill would no longer have its primary justification for existence and therefore be easier to remove >>

He suggested

Akash nodded softly in agreement to the Bank Director and Commerce Master's ruminations.

"Taxation may indeed hamper our profitability." he noted, echoing their concerns then continued, "Perhaps instead we may push the Alliance for tax cuts, along with repealing the Denon bill. As for disrupting the stability on Denon, Commerce Master -- I believe that we should seek that method as a contingency. The current economic situation, given the war and the populist bills, should be enough leverage for us in the Senate to push for revoking the Denon Bill. After all, I do not think the Alliance are in a strong position to alienate one of its economic powerhouses, especially in times of war."

Apprehension permeated the atmosphere when the idea of taxing hyperspace routes was brought up, as the galactic economy heavily depended on the efficient transportation of goods and services between different galactic factions and planetary governments. Unfair taxation could potentially cripple the essential operations of their organizations, leading to swift and severe economic decline across the galaxy as projected by various forecasts.

Although the aforementioned concern from Deputy Director Odett Hallisk Odett Hallisk and Commerce Master Wiovach Ham was duly acknowledged and properly recorded by the Skakoan, it was imperative to acknolwedge that unless signifcant measures were taken by the concerned parties, then the Galactic Alliance would persist in uttilizing them as bailout machines for the government until they could recuperate the economic repercussions of the Core Wars.

The Settlement Officer, Akash Guul, promptly emphasized that a possible resolution to their issue could involve incorporating their discussions with the Alliance Government with the abolishment of the Denon Bill. This ill-advised law imposed limitations on corporate ownership and interests on member-worlds of the Alliance, a point that the Trade Federation Delegation could use to support their argument regarding the unexpected rise of the Dark Empire.

"Given the potential negative impact of excessive taxation on the galactic economy, it is imperative that we heed the sound advice of Settlement Officer Guul and explore ways to address the challenges posed by the Denon Legislation." The Skakoan elucidated with a solemn demeanor, recognizing that the Denon Bill posed a significant barrier to their efforts to expand their influence and power within the Galactic Alliance, prompting them to explore alternative sources of income from the Dark Empire and the Sith Order.

" Guul, you have been tasked with overseeing the implementation of our strategy. Collaborate with Minister Grimmin and Senator Dod of Cato Neimoidia to formulate amendments to the Hyperspace Act, specifically focusing on the removal of the Denon Bill without jeopardizing our standing in the Federal Assembly for potential future backing should the Core War spiral out of control and become another Great Hyperspace War."

Laborr elucidated, presenting an impassive gaze directed at the Givin Offical. It would be imperative for them to exercise discretion in incorporating this particular clause into the forthcoming legislation that is scheduled to garner attention from the senate in the coming weeks, and would prove vital if the Trade Federation were to extend their shipping lanes to other sectors and systems.

"Understood, Viceroy." the Givin nodded, his long, skeletal fingers beginning to tap on the datapad resting before him. "We will do our utmost best to repeal the Denon legislation but we will tread carefully, as well."

"I'll notify Minister Grimmin immediately." he slowly rose up, a few of the metallic on his belt softly dinging. "Gentlemen." Akash gave a respectful, short bow to all before departing the meeting with his usual casual trot and datapad in hand.

An hour later, Minister Lodd Grimmin Lodd Grimmin would receive the minutes of the meeting on his company datapad.

Their work has only just begun.
