The Game

Baron C’artyom raced through the halls of Kamino angrily. The Empire had made a mockery of him, he did not care how high of marks this man earned in the academy. The fact that he had been promoted to major of intelligence straight out the gate irked the Chiss to no end. So now Desmond sought to personally find this man and gauge his worth. If the fellow proved to be a big enough fool perhaps Desmond could make him disappear in the stormy seas of Kamino…

Desmond planned and schemed whilst he meandered through the halls and made his way towards the man’s station. Even if Des could not pull rank on the fellow, he could at least use his title of Baron to force the man out. Desmond rounded one last corner before arriving at the fellows quarters. He rapped on the door with his fist and awaited a response. The Chiss had read the his file. Their was next to nothing on him. He was a clean slate. Desmond would have to get creative.

He wanted to end this man's career. He wanted to make sure he would never ascend beyond the rank of Major. This [member="Iodyte Delveen"] would soon see he had made a powerful enemy.

Iodyte had spent little time actually celebrating his promotion. Sure, he basked in the awe and whispers that seemed to follow him in the office. And yes, he did so deserve celebration and he could hardly blame those who so aptly displayed their awe. After all, it wasn't every day they got to come across such perfection. Well, no, if they were working under him it was quite likely they'd be seeing quite a bit of him. They should've been honored to receive such a privilege.

Still basking in the light of his new promotion, Delveen set to his work, going over reports, formulating strategies and picking apart suggested plans. There was no rest for him, not when there was work to be done and more promotions to look forward to in the future. All was going according to plan. Better than that, really. The man had painstakingly made it so there would be nothing of his past that could possibly get in his way. It was only up from here.

At first, he didn't register the rap on his door as someone trying to summon him. He hadn't expected people at this hour. With a bit of a sigh, he tucked his current project out of sight before standing, straightening his uniform and walking toward the door. "Yes, yes, I'm coming. What can I do for you?"

Desmond was furious. He thought he was going to wring the man's neck the moment he answered the door. An arrogant voice told Des the man had finally registered the loud banging on the door. But, when he answered something funny switched on in Desmond. The man was a handsome devil with an air of arrogance that suited him well.

“I… Uh…” Desmond sputtered, but just as quickly he regained his composure.

Smoothing out his eyebrows with a hand Desmond gave Iodyte his best winning smile.

“The name is Desmond C’artyom. I am a fellow major in the ISB. I wanted to welcome the newest addition of our task force with a drink. Care to walk with me to the bar?” Desmond asked the man Nonchalantly.

He just had to play it cool. Desmond simply hadn’t expected the man to be so damn handsome. Maybe Desmond's night wouldn't be so bad after all. But, the Chiss hadn’t entirely forgot his original motives. He would try to pump Iodyte for any incriminating evidence. If anything else happened, well that would all be in good fun.
