Faction The Gift of Tranquility

GIFT OF TRANQUILITY

Attire: [X]
Location: Paragon Station, Keera Major, Deep Core
Years ago, there had been a time when the feelings towards the Jedi or the Sith were those of disgust and anger that would have otherwise prevented the woman from being in the same room with these individuals let alone providing them with a gift. However, those feelings had been slowly erased, replaced with the desire to ensure that those who were also safeguarding the Galactic Alliance and its populace had the tools that they would require. It was for this purpose that she had ensured a new vessel was crafted, largely designed and manufactured in secret to prevent its knowledge from being known until the moment was right. The existence of the vessel had been made known to the Jedi Master Valery Noble during a private meeting between the two women back on Coruscant, and it was clear that the Jedi seemed to face more negativity and judgment than the support that they needed. This night was to make it known to the rest of the Council the existence of a new vessel, built in secret that was to be gifted to the New Jedi Order and provide them with the means to further their message and train the next generation of Younglings and Padawan Learners.
Amelia stood silently in the antechamber, her hands pressing the wrinkles from her dress as she took a moment to collect her thoughts. Silver-white hair was pulled back tightly and carefully styled as a series of aurodium accessories were braided into the tresses that rested against her bare shoulders and upper back. Normally she would have worn armor or some other form of business casual or uniformed appearance, however, this night called for something a bit more formal. Golden-yellow hues peered out the nearest viewport of the Station, falling upon the inky depths of space beyond only marked with the pinpoint lights of stars far off from where they currently stood. A soft sigh slipped from her lips before she carefully turned towards the doors and nodded silently. Stepping forward, she brought her hands together in front of her, clasping one hand in the other as the doors slowly hissed open to reveal the large meeting chamber beyond that had been prepared for those that were expected; as well as providing the amenities for any additional guest that would otherwise arrive later.
Stepping into the meeting chamber, she offered a simple bow in greeting, graceful and fluid in her movements as she bent forward slightly before rising once more. Her eyes slowly fell upon each individual in turn, taking them in as she slowly moved into the chamber proper.
"Thank you for your prompt arrival and for your attendance this night. If there are any questions as to your purpose here tonight, please, hold them for a moment as I am sure that perhaps Jedi Master Noble has informed the Council as to what is being presented to the Order?"
Amelia questioned for a moment, though she would not leave the time needed to answer or otherwise pose another question. She was banking on the fact that Valery had told the other members the reason for their arrival there that night, nor that they suspected that her motives were anything other than sincere. The woman had ensured that her appearance was one that made it simple and clear that she was, in fact, unarmed and had not arrived at this meeting with any form of weaponry beyond what her species was naturally capable of. Extending her arm slowly, the woman took a few more steps towards the largest viewport at the far end of the large meeting chamber, as she gestured towards the emptiness of space beyond the station, her lips parting as her voice began to carefully dance upon the still air of the room.
"The New Jedi Order is a vital part of the overall capability of the Galactic Alliance; one that appears to be ill-equipped and lacking the materials and resources that it needs to accomplish its goals and objectives. To that end, I have, in secret, directed my company Aether Systems to design and produce for the Order a new vessel. I present to you now, the Jedi Praxeum Ship, The Bolaph."
As her final word was spoken and slipped from her lips, the emptiness of space beyond burst to life as a brilliant flash filled the viewport as a vessel dropped from Hyperspace. The craft slowly approached the station, though stopped just short as it came to dominate the viewport and provide those looking out with the full image of the vessel. Its hull was painted red with a series of white stripes along the length, and emblazoned boldly at the fore of the vessel was the symbol of the Jedi, clearly denoting its allegiance and to whom the vessel belonged.

Jasper knew starships. This was an impressive one. Already he had taken note of key points where armaments would be. There were none present allocated for offense. This was a mobile tank, a fortress that could take punishment but would dish out none. Jedi philosphy at it's finest. A part of him was a little torn that she mentioned they didn't have the resources they needed. The young councilmember had certainly tried his best to get them what they needed, designing various starfighters and commisioning the Dawnbreaker to deliver aid to the galaxy. Still, help was good.

"Lacking resources is... perhaps a bit dramatic..." he noted with a frown. "But I must give credit where it's due: This is an impressive vessel. It's very clear that you and your company put a great detail of care and dedication into it's construction. For what it's worth, I find a great deal of value in that commitment alone. You can't put a price tag on good-will. For that you have my respect, Captain."

There was respect in his tone, and an eagerness as well. Ships excited him. Out of everyone present, Jasper was most certainly the most eager to get on board and see the interior with his own two eyes, but he would stow his desire to see it. There was certainly more to discuss.

"I'm curious what inspired you to do this," Jasper continued. "I... must apologize if that seems rude, but we've just met. Good will comes with a story, and I like knowing them. Gestures mean more when we have the opportunity to connect to other people. I'd like to foster that connection."

He turned to his fellow councilmembers, hoping not to be chastized. He was the youngest present after all, and he had been told before that his youth effected how he understood things. Jasper hoped that how he spoke was a good representation of the Order's values. There was a lot for him to learn after all.

Hopefully he'd figure all of that out one day.

Kass was not an expert in ships, nor did she harbor any particular interest in them. So when Jasper pronounced the Bolaph an impressive vessel, she saw no reason to doubt his conclusion. "What is the significance of its name?" she asked.

Jasper wanted to know the story behind their mysterious benefactor. Now, it was perfectly possible that there was no motive other than generosity and a desire to provide for the common good. But Kass was interested in learning more about the woman, so she remained silent, awaiting an answer to the question.

A new ship, Denn thought, for a new war.

No.

Not a war.

Wars.

The Galactic Alliance was embroiled in more than one at the moment. Denn had been doing his best to catch up on recent events, and had been doing extensive reading of action reports. If he had to guess, he'd guess that the Empire would soon be a returning player to the galactic conflicts of the day. There had been a suspicious amount of Imperial equipment in the hands of 'mercenaries,' according to the intelligence evaluations.

It had been a lot of reading on topics he didn't enjoy. But he couldn't deny reality, either. If the Order was joined at the hip to the GA, and the GA was at war, then none of the Jedi could escape it by wishing it away.

Not even him.

It was only chance that saw Denn here. He'd been making his report to the Council about his five-year mission to Aing-Tii space, and had been allowed to stay to witness... this.

The ship which came out of hyperspace was awe-inspiring, whatever its purpose. That couldn't be denied. It reminded Denn of a Super Star Destroyer.

He'd never imagined that the Jedi would command such a ship. A ship which seemed designed with offensive firepower in mind above any other concern. He was sure it was at least nine kilometers long. Perhaps ten. He could see dozens of heavy artillery glistening on the surface of the vessel, reflecting the ambient light. There was room aboard the ship for an entire armada's worth of embarked craft. Legions of troops could fit aboard. It was a ship that could easily conquer any system it came to.

"Bolaph," Denn said, the first words he'd spoken since the unveiling, "could be best translated to... Tranquility. In the majority Mon Calamarian tongue."

He frowned slightly, "But this vessel seems to follow the Mandalorian axiom: "If your Summer would be Peaceful, then Sharpen your Swords at First Snow."

Or, in other parlance- If you desire peace, prepare for war.
