Bounty The Good, The Bad and The Rusty

Tae'l was not a patient woman by nature. It had taken years of unspeakable violence to become as patient as she was now. Even so- without her Bio-inhibitor chip- there was still room for improvement. But she was learning. And had been learning for the past few years since her disappearance.

Now she waited atop one of the many rock formations that overlooked the temple ruins. The climb from Blackspire Outpost to the ruins would have been difficult without a Jetpack admittedly, but it would be worth it if this job went as planned. There was a Bounty of sorts for stolen Lightsabers, and as luck would have it, rumors of a young Jedi looking for safe passage to Batuu reached her ears. There was only one reason for a Jedi to visit this hive of scum and villainy, and now she was there first. She could wait.

So, she waited.

And waited

and waited...

Waiting for something or someone to trip one of the small Motion Sensor devices she had hidden within the rubble at the ruined entrance. Nothing get's in- Nothing get's out- without her knowledge.

The local wildlife- "Demlins"
as the locals said- kept her fed during the long days she spent camping up high in the rocks, using her flamethrower to cook them, and a natural creek at the base of this particular rock formation kept her hydrated. The small spring from which the creek originated from was now encircled by Demlin skulls she had been collecting since that little camping trip began. Though, one stayed in her bag now, as a souvenir.

At least she had someone to talk with up there. Even if they never said anything back...

If this is another dead end I swear to everything holy I will kill whoever the idiot is that decided an ancient Jedi Temple was a good hideout.

Leenic angrily wiped some dust off his visor, dried sweat leaving his entire body feel terribly dirty as he moved up towards the entrance of the giant temple with pistol in hand and rifle slung over his shoulder. He had spent the better part of the day hiking to this blasted temple, since he had only gained the knowledge around noon when he overheard someone at the local guild talking about a Mandalorian making her way up here, and the mix of exhaustion, adrenaline, stress, hunger, and general filth was driving him well over a cliff in terms of emotional control. "Karking damn it!" He growled, catching himself as a piece of rubble gave out beneath him and almost sent him tumbling into the dirt. "'Course they can never choose somewhere inhabited and looked after, always somewhere where no one will look because no one even wants to be here in the first place!"

After a few more seconds of cursing at inanimate objects, the bounty hunter would resume his trek onwards to the temple's entrance, chewing on his lip before holstering his blaster to free up both his hands. "Alrighty, what do we got here?" He muttered, wiping some dirt off his gloves and lowering his rangefinder to begin scanning the entrance for any possible traps, but picking up nothing so far. "No land mines, no turrets, not guards... the hell kinda hideout is this? Well, probably one she already cleared out for me...always did manage to take all the fun for herself."

Of course, it had roughly been several years for the young adult Jedi, choosing to potentially close themself off from the vast galaxy around her. It had been a very long time since she had had any potential interaction with anyone, the last person that she had contact at all. The two most important people in her life despite not speaking to them for a extended amount of time was Aloy Vizsla and Tan'yill Vizsla, the two of them was like adoptive parents to her during the time that they had spent together. Even the young girl had offered a special type of metal to Aloy that was extremely hard to find nowadays. This metal that she had given to the woman was known as Beskar and it was not easy to obtain by any means and it was one of the few ores that would be extremely rare and wanted by many different factions that could get their hands on it.

The rumors of a young jedi seeking out safe passage towards the planet batuu was far from the actual truth. The pair had potentially taken positions and setting up a perimeter around the temple itself. Not much was heard or said about this young jedi, for all they could know it could potentially be just a rumor and nothing more. However as soon leenic had finished speaking, the two would suddenly notice one of the motion sensors would begin to blare to life detecting something near it, it appeared to be one had been triggered until all the other motion sensors around the area would began to blare as well.. someone was intentially triggering them all too cause a distraction towards the pair.

"Hmm, it has been quite a while since I've met anyone.. seems someone potentially set up a perimeter here to try and capture me.. mm maybe I should welcome them.." She had mentioned to herself before grinning to herself before walking into the perimeter. Her facial appearance had been masked, however the woman had worn a brown cloak that seemed to have high quality designs to them.. Her attire underneath had a old fashion vibe from the older era of jedi that had been far more respectful. Her attire had resemble those that had came before her in the order that was of the old times when sith was more dangerous. The only reason that she had noticed that

The woman had stood there, waiting for whoever set up the perimeter to come rushing towards her location, the female had crossed her arms as a custom unique design light saber hung from her waist. It was partially hidden, but still noticable on her frame.. to the two once they got into viewing range, once close enough.. if they paided close attention.. they would take notice of the lightsaber's design.. it was one that was similar to the dark saber. It was modeled after aloy's own weapon.. and in order for her to get it to work at all. She would need to find the last component which might possibly be in the temple if she assumed right, if not.. she was shit out of luck. "Hopefully the piece I am searching for is in these ruins, if I can't find it than I will have to hunt down someone from a black market to obtain the tech that I require to make it work." She had quietly said to herself before standing in the spot waiting for the people who had set the perimeter to spring into action.. she had seemed rather bored.. so she would allow them to try and advance on her. The girl wanted to see who she was potentially dealing with.

Some days prior...

The rumored Jedi seeking shelter at the Batuu temple wasn't the only inhabitant to have sought its refuge. Having arrived on Batuu some time ago, Rayia had found herself quickly overwhelmed by the barrage of sensations that the close proximity of the throngs in the central spaceport of Blackspire Outpost created. The intense scent of bodies hemmed in close together, the sharp acrid scent of spices and cheap alcohol, and the pluming exhaust of sleek, foreign windship engines nearly masked the faded scent of blood that permeated the narrow streets. It seemed to spill from the alleyways in a creeping, sluggish crawl leaving Rayia no doubt as to what sort of nefarious deeds were committed when the sun averted its gaze.

Rayia had felt a restless wariness creep into her bones as the beast within her stirred. She could feel her hackles rising with each breath. Beneath her skin, bones started to snap and reform into an alternate form. But just as suddenly, they seemed to sink back and meld into their previous positions within the Felacatian's body. Rayia's muscles quivered, as her stocky frame seemed to inexplicably possess more bone and muscle mass than her humanoid frame could possibly possess before it disappeared. I need to get out of here, she thought eyeing some of the large spires surrounding the town. She couldn't really explain why, but as she gazed into the far distance near the ruins on the town's perimeter, she felt the lightest touch on her shoulder. Like a gentle reassurance that she would be safe there. Within one heartbeat, Rayia had bounded up the wall of the building near her and was crossing the roofs with inhumanoid speed. She was no longer restraining herself with the potential refuge and solitude proffered by the ruins.

Time: 1900 hours
Location: Roof of the Batuu Temple

A figure lay sleeping on the flat roof of the temple nestled in the overhang where one of the rear-most spires gently leaned on the sloped rock surface. She'd been there for some time, judging by the makeshift camp haphazardly strewn about the small cranny. A small pile of ashes lay next to her, being lightly blown about by the air currents. Several haunches of the small Batlizards native to the area rolled over the petrified wood, leaving damp marks as the juices seeped into the thirsty pores.

Rayia's tail twitched as she felt the disturbances in the air near her. Slitted, amber-golden, feline eyes opened immediately as she took stock of her surroundings. Her sharp senses could detect three figures of relatively human size in the immediate vicinity as they moved through the air. One of them had clambered up the side of one of the spires first and had remained there for quite some time. They hovered on the edge of Rayia's senses seemingly constantly slipping in and out of her tail's detectable range. The other two were closer and Rayia could pick up significantly more detail about them. Rayia's ears twitched as she heard harsh words carried on the wind. That man must be hunting someone, she thought, making an educated guess based off the man's words. The clacking sound of metal on rubble, the heavy footsteps, and the distinctly tangy scent of a burnished metal supported her theory. Those and the particular sensations of the minute displacement of air as he moved. She had recognized the summation for what it was though she knew not the metal. He must be wearing full armor to be that heavy, she thought.

"...Which I suppose makes the other one the prey who is in turn hunting something of their own. Interesting," Rayia muttered aloud. Her curiosity was peaked. She carefully padded across the roof towards the arched entrance scattering the ashes of her previous night's cook fire as she did so. Ignoring them, Rayia slowly lowered herself prone across the roof. Spreading her weight out over the crumbling wood, she took a cautious glance over the lip towards the entrance. Seeing a bunch of small metallic devices now flashing intermittedly and a woman standing between them placidly, Rayia surmised that this stranger must have tripped the trap on purpose. "Curious and curiouser." Rayia commented, simultaneously thankful for the woman's intervention. If she hadn't been there, Rayia wasn't entirely sure that she wouldn't have set off the trap when she tried to leave.

✱Beep✱ ✱beep✱ Tae'l shot up to her feet, stirred from a drink by the digital chime from her wrist-keypad, alerting her that the motion sensors had been tripped by something large. Something man-sized.

Her little flask of water was tossed from one hand while the gleaming helm of beskar was slid over her face in the other as she marched to the edge, stepping off without a second thought... Then- like a bird of prey recovering from a dive- she was soaring upward as her jetpack came to life with nary a sound, just the feint blue-tinged glow of Ionic power.

The flight had been calculated beforehand in an attempt to turn the target's homefield advantage against them. Once she had cleared the jungle canopy after the initial jump, the rest was a simple glide downward that carried her almost straight toward the entrance, putting her in a prime ambush position if the target was leaving the ruins or even an intercept course if they were only just arriving. But there was one thing she didn't account for;

A Mandalorian? She nearly gasped in surprise her speed waned, coming to a low hover on the rooftops high above until she had landed in a crouched position above them.

But it wasn't the beskar that shocked her. It was the color...

No. no, no no. not yet, not today!

She recognized it now, a closer look revealing that an old ghost from her past was back. But why? How?!

She didn't have time for this! the target would get away and her payout with them. Why does he have to complicate things only now?

No. No, she wasn't about to let Mother's henchmen take her newfound freedom away.

"HEY-" She called, standing tall for such a small creature. Then, she simply dropped from the edge, only barely slowing her fall with the jetpack until she was on the ground in between The Jedi and The Rust-clad Mandalorian.

"You shouldn't be here..."

Tae'l now stood before Leenic for the first time in some years. The ghost of a girl whom many pronounced dead, steely eyed from behind the Black-chrome of a visor, staring 12 parsecs down at him as if possessed by a stranger's murderous intent. Even the armor was different now; A rusted brown deeper than even Leenic's own, almost like the metal she wore had seen more bloodshed than she had years- flanked by silver and gold burnished Beskar- and marred by dust from a thousand worlds.

It had nearly as much history to it as the young but since battle-hardened Twi'lek had between Leenic and herself.
And yet- like a flash of Kaminoan Lightning-
The Golden Gun cleared leather and entered her hand faster than most Battle droids could even acquire a target. She pointed it right at him without so much as a thought.

"And you," She directed to the Jedi, taking her time to draw a
brutish Slugthrower from her back, this time with at a somewhat relaxed pace, only to point it right at the young woman on the opposite side of her from Leenic.

"You should stay put, and stay where I can see you, Jedi... No sudden moves!"

p1UD36K.png

Rustbuckets will never go out of style.
Leenic's inspection of the area stopped dead in its tracks as he picked up an all too familiar disturbance in the nearby force auras (or whatever the hell Jedi called them, Leenic didn't really care). "Jedi? Here?" He said softly, quickly pulling his trusted pistol out of its holster and taking off at a run towards them. "Hold it!" He then shouted, aiming his pistol right at the Jedi's head as he skidded to a halt in front of her, pulling his own lightsaber off his belt and holding it deactivated in his right hand. "No sudden moves, Jedi, I'm not looking to kill you but I sure as hell won't hesitate if you try anything."

He then froze in place as Tayl's voice echoed through the air and made Leenic instinctively look up to get her in view. "There you are." He said, voice almost a whisper as he watched her fly down with all the practiced bravado of a seasoned bounty hunter. Once she landed, Leenic started putting his pistol away... but then he fount himself staring right down the barrel of her infamous Golden Gun.

"Y'know, I almost complimented your armor." Leenic said, punching his arm back out at breakneck speed and planting the sights of his gun right on top of Tayl's. "Then I remembered how much I hate having guns pointed at my face. But it's still nice to see you too Tayl. I'm doing fine, thanks for asking."

Rayia's tail twitched as she lay there on the rooftop, watching the solitary figure amidst the blinking lights. She almost didn't believe her own tail, but she had felt the silent launch into the air as well as the slowly drifting descent of the woman who had been perched on the spire. She didn't appear to have spotted Rayia, concentrating intensely on the figure currently hurtling up the slope at a full, human run. The man was indeed bedecked in full armor and had drawn his weapon. Rayia recognized a blaster when she saw one business end facing towards the woman in the brown cloak. She'd been shot before. It was unpleasant like a burning gnat bite. Rayia had endured worse. Felacatians were durable after all. Phantom pain suddenly surged up her side, as the beast remembered a memory she had suppressed. The tight confines of a Devaronian's ship corridors. The foul, biting stench of blood and gore drizzling the halls from the decimated pirate squads. The shuddering pain as the beast had finally succumbed to unconsciousness. Sustained fire from the two z-6 rotary blaster cannons had finally broken through the metallic fur and bony, armored plates that covered its feline body after twenty nine shots. The Felacatian's tail couldn't help but retract instinctively, hiding within its pocket at the base of her hips. Rayia shuddered and ground the petrified wood between her hands until her knuckles were white and she'd reduced it to dust. 'Calm yourself Rayia. You're not there anymore. You got patched up. You escaped, remember?' She reminded herself.

What was most surprising however was the fact that the man did not fire immediately but abstained. 'His hunt must necessitate her capture alive. Or he simply does not wish to harm her unless he must.' Rayia concluded, noting the way the man had chosen to warn the woman. This so-called Jedi. Rayia's head quirked to one side at that, ears perking. Why did that word sound familiar? Why did the woman look familiar? Well okay, not she herself. But her garments certainly reminded Rayia of other she had met. Where was it? Rayia's eyes went wide at the realization. Her mind was flung back to the foul swamps of Dagobah, when she had hunted creatures of the dark with others dressed in plain clothes like the brown cloak the woman wore. Her nose curled at the thought as she remembered the foul marshes and the awful, bloated corpses she had dispatched that night. "She's a paladin!" Rayia whispered to herself, using an ancient word from her home-world that described the Jedi.

Well this simply wouldn't do. Rayia had no quarrel with the two strangers. Neither did she wish them harm. But she couldn't let a paladin be captured if she could help it. Her tribe owed much to the paladins of her home world. Fortunately, it seemed like the two strangers had some quarrel amongst themselves. Now the shorter woman had landed in-between the man and the paladin woman, pointing her weapons towards both of them. This had encouraged the man to return the gesture. Based on the byplay, Rayia guessed they had some unresolved history. 'Why? Because they sound like you and Mother?' The voice in her head mocked knowing it was true. The Felacatian felt something tap against her leg and shook herself out of her trance. It was a pair of the juicy drumsticks that had rolled down the tiling from her sleeping spot towards her. Grabbing them in hand, Rayia grinned mischievously. She was tempted to send them sailing towards the armored stranger's visors but she refrained. 'Maybe if I just make a distraction, we can all slip away from this without any of our fangs drawing blood,' Rayia thought. Instead she sat up on the ledge and made herself visible as she took another bite. "You two hungry?" She asked, proffering the other drumstick in their direction.

She had quietly observed the two people, both of them warning her not to make any sudden moves.. the girl had closed her eyes as her hood had blown off revealing her facial appearance. The dark skinned and revealed to be a young adult.. however that wasn't the oddest thing at all, her cloak had been blown apart slightly to show more detailed of the weapon that rested firmly on her hip.. it was strangely similar to the dark saber, each piece and detail of the weapon came rather close to the original. However they had got a quick look at a strange looking amulet around her neck, before they could get a clear view.. they would soon take notice that it was very similar to the vizsla crest..

It was normally covered by her clothes and tucked away out of sight for most people she was around, the girl had groaned.. before speaking towards the girl. "I would be careful, where you aim that rifle.. you never know it can slip from your hand at a moments notice.." She had said giggling slightly. It didn't take long before she would began to examine the girl before her and that her voice had seemed rather fimiliar for some reason. Her train of thought had been disturbed as she picked up another voice coming from behind her, the girl would observe the incoming feline female as she breathed in slowly. Seeing that the girl was quickly appoarching them without a concern.

Thinking more clearly to herself as she had thought about the previous expierences that she had with aloy and tan'yill.. as she remembered her first interaction with the woman.. "Honestly its been a while since i've encountered a mando.. makes me almost miss interacting with a few others.." She had mentioned before tilting her head and smiling.. of course she would know what was possibly going to happen.. once they had noticed her amulet.. they would probably began to ask questions, her small device had began to beep for a few times. This would indeed cause her to look down towards her device for a split second.. before returning it towards the two before her.. she hadn't move at all but obviously looked towards the pair waiting for their reaction to this.. the girl would breath in one final time. The thoughts of the situation had been fresh on her mind as she waited to see what the two would do before she would attempt to move.. of course, she could have snatched tae'l's weapon from her but no jade was being nice and didn't want to give her a reason to shoot her or anything of that nature.

"Wish I could say the same, Leenic... I'm sure news of my death must've hit mother real hard" She retorted in a mocking tone. More so towards Aloy than to Leenic.

"How the hell did you find me?! Don't tell me she cares this time"

Something about her was... new, at least since the last time they'd spoken. That eerily calm young girl was gone now, and a woman of cold anger and something else burning under it stood before him now.

"I would be careful, where you aim that rifle.. you never know it can slip from your hand at a moments notice.."

She glared at the Jedi for just a second longer than she had at Leenic, glances being thrown at both otherwise, off and on.

"Where did you get that...?"

"Agh, it doesn't matter! I only want the Lightsaber. Not here to shoot anybody, but that doesn't mean I'd hesitate"
Then she gestured to Leenic with her pistol.

"You know The Code... To steal another's hunt is forbidden. She's mine. You can go home now, and tell mother that I'm not her little girl anymore... And not her little weapon e-" She hissed like a venomous serpent, only to be cut off by another voice...

"You two hungry?"

The sun glared off her visor quickly as she snapped towards the new voice, hoping to keep them in check with her automated targeting systems.

"I've got a lock on you, stranger. Kindly keep a distance- I'm not here to use it"

Her tone was gentler with the newcomer, hopeful that they weren't here to interfere with any of the three belligerents below. Though it also had something to do with the angle: She was used to fighting multiple opponents by now, but not from such precarious positions. The Feline had the high ground, The Jedi was a wildcard- and Leenic... Leenic only held his fire because it was her. Though she wasn't sure how long that'd last, or how low Aloy was willing to stoop.

"How the hell did you find me?! Don't tell me cares this time"
Leenic frowned under his helmet, rubbing his tongue along the top of his front teeth as he stared at Tae'l, studying her movements while still keeping the twin barrels of his pistol trained onto the barrel of her golden gun, finger lightly depressing the trigger to get the shot off that much quicker if he ever needed to. "I wasn't around when she got the news." He said simply, slowly sliding his right foot back behind his left foot to get into a better firing stance and minimize his profile. "But I'm sure it broke her heart when she heard it. But I'm not her for her sake Tae'l, came here on my own terms to find out if it was you running around, or if I had to take your gun off some petty merc."

When Tae'l glanced back at the Jedi he looked over at her as well, moving only his eyeballs to not clue anyone else in that his attention was off of Tayl and on the secondary threat. "Funnily enough, she's the reason I found you." He commented before drawing his attention back to the younger Mandalorian. "Unintentionally, of course, but she seemed like a bounty you'd try to take on sooner or later. Guess I was lucky that you're a go getter."

"You know The Code... To steal another's hunt is forbidden. She's mine. You can go home now, and tell mother that I'm not her little girl anymore... And not her little weapon e-" She hissed like a venomous serpent, only to be cut off by another voice...
"You know how many times I've broken that damn code and had it broken on me?" Leenic laughed, shaking his head as a father does when his kid asks an obvious question. "I'm not here for that Tae'l, if I was I would have left with it hours ago. Maybe even taken a pair of hands with me, who knows? I'm here because I-"

"You two hungry?"
Leenic's head quickly snapped around to look at the person who had just spoken, his right hand instinctively igniting his saber and pointing it towards her. "Have you ever heard of announcing your presence? It's very useful when you want to stay alive and a bunch of people with blasters are tense." He shouted, eyes glancing between Tae'l and the newcomer. "Unless you're wanting to feel what a supercharged blaster bolt to the skull feels like, then I'd be happy to help."

Rayia frowned as she heard the smaller woman, Tae'l, wielding the mismatched weapons disdain her mother. 'So I was right. She does have a history with him. And she does have issues with her mother,' Rayia thought and frowned at the disparaging remark. 'Still, that isn't right to say. I am sure her mother did grieve when she found out.' Rayia continued, though she remained silent on the matter. She had no great wish to tempt the irony of the universe, and she was hardly a great role model of a good relationship with one's mother. Her own relationship with her mother was strained due to the succession ritual she had abandoned. One which would involve her dueling her sisters to find out who was fit to lead the tribe. Rayia had refused and had run away. She was sure her mother had agents scouring the galaxy, ready to drag her back to finish what she had started.

Rayia's ears perked up. The interplay between the two armored individuals had suddenly gotten more interesting. The woman's implication that there was rules to this sort of hunt meant that there was a structured way she might behave. Additionally, she'd also given away her quarry. The weapon of the paladins. That actually caused a moment's consideration in Rayia as she thought about the predicament the three were in. 'Wait, that's a fair point. Why hasn't the paladin activated her weapon? They could get over their squabbling at any moment and unite against her,' she thought.

Rayia's reaction to the two warnings was essentially the same. The Felacatian brought the tasty lizard haunch to her mouth and bit down on its edge. A long clump of stringy meat was torn away from the leg as Rayia twisted her head back. The fresh incision steamed as the red meat glinted in the sunlight. But the gleaming bone had also been shorn away and crunched lightly as Rayia chewed. She directed her attention towards the man, since he had made the more violent of the outbursts at her greeting. The threat of the weapon being pointed in her direction caused her hackles to stiffen. Rayia could feel the beast rousing, blood roaring in her ears. 'Calm. Remember you aren't here to draw fangs. Just to help the paladin escape without bloodshed... Preferably without being welted by the peashooters.' She reminded herself. She quirked an eyebrow at Leenic, affecting an unconcerned air. Even if she was curious why he was carrying the fang of a paladin or a despoiler. "I'll be fine. Thanks for worrying." In the smile she gave him, there was just a bit too much tooth for her mouth.

Rayia then focused her attention on Tae'l. She waved the lizard haunch in a placatory gesture. "Listen. I'm not here to draw fangs either. Believe me, you'd know if I was. But... I'm just curious. Have you truly thought about your hunt? Why are you hunting for her weapon anyway?"

Jade had turned her attention towards the girl that had potentially asked the question, her eyes had shifted towrds the girl for a moment.. deciding to take the moment.. and walked towards her without no concern.. her impression had dropped and became more serious.. the girl moved towards the girl.. "Take my weapon? Your not gonna lay your hands on my lightsaber.. I promised my adoptive mother I would look after myself and my would be sister that I've have yet to meet.. this amulet is secret to me.. Aloy Vizla is one of the nicest people that I have encountered when growing up.. and if you think I am gonna just give you my saber without a struggle.. you have a another thing coming..!" She had raised her voice intentially to scare the girl.. "Now, Now.. calm yourself before you regret your choice.." She had said before placing her hand closely against her bnelt.. the girl had stared at her for a moment..

"I wouldn't make any rash decisions here.. As for you Mando, I see the way you carry yourself.. " The girl was quite intellegent to begin with.. her eyes had rested on the pair for a moment.. before asking something towards her. "You look like you know what this amulet is.. You want to calm yourself before you end up trying to shoot me.. It will be a bad decision for you to do.. but if you think you can shot me go ahead.. I dare you.." The tone that she had given as she held her open hands out waiting for the girl to be brave enough to shoot her if she could.. "Be warned.. I do not take kindly to people who attack me and try to rob me.. " Her cloak had came undone as she would notice that the girl had armor around her chest but not just any armor.. it was beskar.. it was made to potentially protect her from any blaster fire.. along with adding more different materials to fashion a nice looking armor.

"As for you mando, i am not threat to you. But the way she looks at this amulet.. I can only guess you are with the Vizla Clan.." She had mentioned, the young girl had focused her attention on them both as she waited to see what they was potentially do. The young jedi had been trained well to deal with these kinda things but held herself back just in case someone got a bright idea to threaten her very life, she was taught how to defend herself just in case. Not only that, she had been improving over the years to potentially develop new techniques and she had one such technique that she could use to entirely stop a blaster bolt from killing her.. more likely she could asborb the energy that came from it.

Tae'l through another glance at Leenic, taking note of the more threatening tone he used with the feline-humanoid above. Obviously she'd hit a nerve or a heartstring- or maybe he was always like that and she'd just forgotten after all this time.

What bothered her more however was just how calm the newcomer was in the face of such threats.

She'd seen enough to know that they weren't bluffing... this sounded more like confidence, the kind ended most fights before they began, certainly when she demonstrated her own to low lives and soldiers of fortune throughout her own travels. But then she said something that was rather unexpected to the Twi'leki-cyborg that almost made her laugh.

"Listen. I'm not here to draw fangs either. Believe me, you'd know if I was. But... I'm just curious. Have you truly thought about your hunt? Why are you hunting for her weapon anyway?"

"Pff! Money...?!" One could practically hear the smile behind that visor.

That's what it boiled down to at the end of the day. Money, adventure, carving a path through the galaxy on her own terms. No Gods, No Masters, and no Aloy.
Or that was the plan anyway, until Leenic tracked her down. Now it was shot to shit and she'd either have to come home or find a new way to disappear. It was the merciful option of the two, really. If she came home instead- with what Adeline Noctua Adeline Noctua wanted- the last Vizsla's would be ripped apart.

She wouldn't hide behind some "moral high ground" by saying that this was for them, but it was an act of kindness to Tan'yill Vizsla Tan'yill Vizsla that she didn't seek out Aloy now.

Aloy Vizla is one of the nicest people that I have encountered when growing up.. and if you think I am gonna just give you my saber without a struggle.. you have a another thing coming..!"

"Don't." She turned and leveled her slugthrower at the Jedi's head the moment she stepped forward, without a second thought. The other weapon remained between her and Leenic still, but her attention was now focused on the wildcard of the two. She doubted that he'd fire on her.

Not yet, at least.

It wasn't until a moment later that the Jedi's words fully registered in her mind. Now, a wave of disgust and heartache rushed over her body. Both at the implications of this girl's identity, and that Aloy had been allowed to poison the mind of another young woman.
"As for you mando, i am not threat to you. But the way she looks at this amulet.. I can only guess you are with the Vizla Clan.."

"Jade...?"

Her voice faltered, as if threatening to bleed tears at the sight of a long lost ghost. Then, so did her weapons. Both her slugthrower and blaster were slowly leveled to the floor as she arms dropped limp, and head stooped low in thought.

"Damnit!" She stomped, but her weapons remained unthreatening to the others.

Then she looked up towards Jademar abruptly, to deliver her warning:

"You don't know her! None of you know her! Not like I do...
I was your replacement Jade! mark my words, she'll replace both of us when she's through!"

She slapped the carbine onto her back again, fingers flexing as it left her hand like they had been itching to use it but had reluctantly abstained. Now it was just her pistol in that one hand- that golden right hand- that was still quick enough to be a threat if the others pressed her despite the Mandalorian's one and only attempt at peace.

"I'm not going back, Leenic..." She finally turned to face him. Only him. "If you're both smart then you wouldn't either"

Leenic's entire body tensed as he both physically and force sensed the tension of the situation rapidly climbing, Tae'ls emotional instability far more than obvious to him when the Jedi stepped forward. "Tae'l...calm down." He said, his words slowed to both provide emphasis and try not to get her even more jumpy than she already was. "Let's all just take a minute and talk about this like rational adults, alright? No need for bloodshed if we can avoid it."

Giving the strange-looking woman another sideways glance, Leenic desperately tried to identify exactly what the hell he was looking at. The mouth unusually full of teeth, animalistic behavior, lack of any care for the very obvious threat he had just tossed at her (although that could be trained) ...none of it made any sense to him.

And things that didn't make sense made him nervous.

"I'm not going back, Leenic..." She finally turned to face him. Only him. "If you're both smart then you wouldn't either"

In all honesty, Leenic's confusion about the new third party had left him tuned out of the conversation up until Tayl lowered her pistol and spoke to him. "Tae'l just...listen to me for a second." He said, lowering his pistol and clipping his saber to his belt again. "I'm not asking you to come back permanently, I just feel like you should at least hear your mother out before you so readily dismiss her as a villain." He chuckled slightly, patting his chestplate with a balled fist. "All of us are...well...not exactly from the right side of the tracks, Alloy is no different, and you know me. I've served under far worse than just a bad mother before."

He sighed, flicking the safety on for his pistol and staring straight at Tae'l. "I won't force you to go anywhere Tae'l, I'm not your father, but I will ask you to at least think about coming home. The Black hand needs you."

Jade had saw her chance watching the young girl had been struggling to find peace, it wasn't hard to see in the girl's worried like impression, of course it didn't take her long as she started to focus on her for a moment. Her focus was now on the young girl.. before seeming to have a brighter idea.. maybe she could change her opinion on the others. The girl had shifted her attention towards the mando before speaking. "Do not take her back with you, I have a more clearer solution.. " The girl had mentioned before shifting her attention on her.. before speaking once more. "Lower your weapon, I do not want to lose your weapon or blame me for crushing them with the force.. I will leave with you, but only if you lower your weapon. You seem to hate and dislike aloy.. Maybe you need someone to bond with. someone who's been through more stress and pain than you have.." She had spoken towards the girl before her. It didn't take long before she would began to push forward quickly speeding towards her cutting the gap between the two.. The young jedi stood inches away from her barrel pointing directly at her chest..

"If you think, any of this is right.. go ahead and squeeze the trigger and take my lightsaber.. I am sure that Aloy would be hurt.. however why don't you take me as a hostage rather than shooting me.. I am sure with time.. you can use me as a bargaining chip.." The girl didn't seem phased by the girl's yelling or anything.. technically this was her adoptive sister and she would do what it would take to potentially help her out.

"I do not know your name, feline.. but do not be concerned about this.." She said staring back at the young girl, and admiring her for a moment before turning her direct attention towards the young woman. "You should calm yourself.. take me as your prisoner. I am sure you can use that against them.. " Her words echoed to the girl's ears. The girl was giving the girl a chance to take her away.. The jedi was smarter than most would believe her to be.. she had plan to aid the young girl but in order to do that she would need to spend time with the girl.

"After all you are technically my sister, you say that I do know her? Well convince me what you know and tell me what you have expierenced through the pain of your life.. and I will share my own story with you.. You want me to understand your point of view.. than let us leave.. and you will be safe in my presence.." She had spoken towards the girl, it was clear the young girl had wanted to make sure that she was doing the right thing. This would give her the chance to escape but also in the point of view.. once aloy was alerted of this action of jade.. it would probably put her mind at ease knowing she had jade around her and possibly be able to help with this entire ordeal. "I am usually alone daily.. and no one to keep me company.. i lost my mother years ago.. due to her dieing to a illness.. I will not allow another family member or friend suffer anymore." She had said towards the young girl before smiling deeply at her and standing inches away from her.

Tae'l dipped her head slightly, narrowing the visor in a faceless expression to belied the even thinner squint behind it.
She was so sick and tired of being talked down to like a child by men and women who hadn't the feintest idea how far she had come, and the bodies that paved the way for her to be here now.

"I'm not that little girl anymore... The Kaminoans made sure of that... The Sith made sure of that"

She said coldly.

What little Jade had done to calm her by proving she wasn't an active threat was now beginning to leave the drifter's mind as Leenic went on. But not for lack of trying. She was trying desperately to not give into the urges that Aloy and her geneticists had cultivated, be they with purpose or unintentional. She didn't want to shoot, or to raise her gun at family again, but without her chip- and with the blatant ignorance she felt was being displayed- the fight against her own nature was quickly becoming one sided again.
"I won't force you to go anywhere Tae'l, I'm not your father, but I will ask you to at least think about coming home. The Black hand needs you."

"The Black Hand needs me?!" She finally spat.

"It's always about her and her stupid war!
What about me, Leenic?! And what I need? I'm not just her goddamn weapon anymore! Maybe I really am just be a clone... But doesn't anyone else see that I'm a real person too?! That this is no way to live?" She barked in disbelief and swept her hand through the air in a frustrated gesture.

"I thought you were different, Leenic...

Are you not?!"

Her finger shook as it hesitantly hovered over the trigger, which she had half a mind to pull. The gun was still pointed at the floor, but instinctual urge to level it on him again was overbearing.

In the split second before she could make up her mind however, The young Jedi appeared between them.

Without thinking, she instinctually raised the blaster at Jademar's chest, though her finger still shied away from the trigger itself. Her shoulders bobbed up and down with every heavy breath she took, labored by the lingering venom of her heart and shock that she had drawn on her adoptive sister for a second time.

"Lower your weapon, I do not want to lose your weapon or blame me for crushing them with the force.. I will leave with you, but only if you lower your weapon. You seem to hate and dislike aloy.. Maybe you need someone to bond with. someone who's been through more stress and pain than you have.."

"She does not speak... unless she knows..."

Tae'l hissed under her breath at the Jedi's assumptions, reciting what the Children of the Watch had taught her- once again by instinct- as images of Samara's lightning came in a crimson flash, memories of her own seared flesh peeling away still haunting her. Then came the day she woke up in the bacta tanks, Seeing Aloy's face as yet another mundane briefing came. Orders... always more orders. Even if Jade had lost a parent, Tae'l would have gladly traded places to avoid becoming the thing she was now.
"If you think, any of this is right.. go ahead and squeeze the trigger and take my lightsaber.. I am sure that Aloy would be hurt.. however why don't you take me as a hostage rather than shooting me.. I am sure with time.. you can use me as a bargaining chip.."
... ?

She merely stared for a time, glancing over the woman's shoulder at Leenic and then back at her again. Though her hand shook, the pistol was slowly pulled away again.

"
Okay..."

She looked away in shame, flicking the safety on her weapon as the exchange continued.

Though she didn't quite like the term "Hostage", she had to admit that Jademar was clever in her own way. Maybe a threat to the Jedi's safety wouldn't stop Aloy, but it just might stop her hunters for a time. In the end, it would separate Jade from her and give Tae'l the chance she needed to talk with her. In some strange way, the Jedi might have given purpose to the Twi'leki-Drifter: She wasn't about to let Aloy manipulate another girl.
"I am usually alone daily.. and no one to keep me company.. i lost my mother years ago.. due to her dieing to a illness.. I will not allow another family member or friend suffer anymore."

"okay... yeah," She nodded slowly and finally looked up to her.

"We... we take my ship. I'll take you there..."

"Don't try following us...!" She would point at Leenic before glancing at Jademar, wordlessly asking permission to leave with her.

Leenic chewed his lip slightly as he sensed a sudden spike of emotion from Tae'l in response to his initial statement, leading him to cautiously flick the safety on his blaster off but not yet raising it back up....yet.

"Never said you were Tae'l, just said that we needed to be rational about this." He quickly replied, holding up his free hand in a show of peace. "Just...calm down."

When Tae'l began her speech, Leenic let out a soft sigh of disappointment and mild annoyance over his appeal to her familial ties failed, a twinge of sadness crossing over his chest at the idea of his presence not being enough to even give her pause on the idea of being drawn back into the clan.

Truth be told, he was starting to miss his "niece" a bit as well.

"I thought you were different, Leenic...

Are you not?!"

When Tae'l said that, Leenic's heart stopped dead in its tracks.

She thought he was here to use her. To bring her into the fold as nothing more than a tool, a weapon, a mindless soldier for some warlord (ironically enough, her own mother) to throw away at a moment's notice should it prove tactically advantageous to do so.

Exactly what he had put himself through.

Leenic was, for once in his life, completely at a loss for words as a giant ball of nothing seemed to stop up his throat like a cork in a wine bottle as he tried to say something, anything, in his own defense. But he couldn't muster it up from the shock of the verbal slap in the face he had received.

When the young Jedi stepped between them Leenic, still a bit dazed from the wave of uncomfortable emotions he was currently drowning in, pulled his blaster up and instinctively used his Jetpack to launch himself backwards slightly. Finger twitching on the trigger, he cautiously stared both her and Tae'l Down, silently watching them talk.

"okay... yeah," She nodded slowly and finally looked up to her.

"We... we take my ship. I'll take you there..."

"Don't try following us...!"

Leenic felt another well of emotions surge up in his chest, the clawing beast he had gotten so used to forcing down taking the momentary lapse in control to fight its way up to the surface.

Memories he didn't need to deal with right now.

"I...." He started, cutting himself off as soon as he felt his voice begin to crack. A short cough later, and he resumed his sentence.

"Fine, Tae'l, leave." Leenic said while biting back the strain on his vocal chords, slamming his pistol into its holster and turning around. "Just dont expect me to come running if you call."

With a curt nod towards the Jedi Leenic strode off, rolling his shoulders back and trying to portray some sort of proper posture to hide the inferno of emotions curling about his lungs. Raising his hand to his commlink, Leenic cleared his throat again and tapped into comms with his pilot.

"Starhopper, get down here for extract. Target....escaped."

Rayia's ears flattened as she heard the twilek's reason for pursuing the paladin. Hunting for money was understandable, but also a knife's edge. Rayia herself had just seen the lengths some might go to for money. 'Just escaped from them,' Rayia corrected automatically, as soon as the thought crossed her mind. The reveal that the paladin and the gun-wielding woman were sisters caused a cascade of reactions from Rayia. Grief, pain, happiness all flashed over her face at once. Grief and pain at the sisters she had left behind. Ones she had abandoned in reluctance of a duel. And happiness that though her family was strained, these two strangers might have a chance at it. And then they disappeared in an instant, replaced by an ever mounting silence and tension. Rayia's body appeared taut and intensely focused on the byplay between the two. The Felacatian's fur prickled, tail rippling as it honed in on the slightest moments between the pair. It looked as if its volume had expanded; as if someone had run an electrical current over it. 'Fighting between siblings leads to two things. Either these two will bond or...' Rayia thought to herself, sliding slowly down the temple wall like a large spider.

With surprise, she heard the rust colored man in full plate ask that they talk it out. This being a line of action that Rayia agreed with, she gave him a smile. This one was somehow less full of teeth. And talk it out they did. Rayia remained largely quiet. She understood little of the context in the argument and... "Ooh butterfly." Rayia said, briefly pausing to paw at a flying insect playfully. It saw the slow swipe and skittered nervously higher, looping around the Felacatian's head as it buzzed on its way.

Rayia blinked as she heard the paladin say that she needn't interfere and cocked an ear as if to ask if she heard that correctly. She glanced between the armored individual and the one in robes and growled softly. Not threateningly, but in a frustrated manner. 'Nothing for it. You can't break your oath,' Rayia thought. She had long resolved herself to help any paladin she came across in Sola's honor. Even before she had felt the headache inducing emotional sweeps of those around her.

She turned towards Tael and straightened up. Even at her full height Rayia was still smaller than her. But she ran a cursory examination over Tael, trying to get a read on whether or not she intended the robed woman any harm. Finding no faults, she simply shrugged. "If she wishes to go with you, then I suppose I shall not stop you. I warn you now though. If I find you've hurt this paladin, I will come find you." She said as she gave the armored woman the same overfull, fang toothed smile she had given the rusted knight.
