The Grand Magi's New Clothes

The dim light illuminating the room only added to the deafening silence in the Council chamber, empty seats further supporting the intimate atmosphere, suggesting something unusual about this 'session', yet not giving away the surprise. This meeting did not concern the Order of the Phoenix, despite Avreet's choice of using this specific room and contacting one particular member of the Order, claiming the Council had something to discuss. Normally, he would not even dare to think about tricking one of his friends like that, so he hoped the surprise would be worth it. Dux Pontus relaxed in his chair, positioned on the right side of their leader's seat due to him being the Hand of the Grand Magi, awaiting the arrival of another. Both large eyes stared blankly at the metal wall opposite of him, not looking at anything in particular as he just had to wait. Time appeared to be slowed down, each passing second lasting hours in the amphibian's mind, which focused on the all too familiar presence getting closer and closer. That would be nobody else than [member="Dux Zarrah"], the Grand Magi of the Phoenix herself and his dearest friend and also a former teacher. And much more. Avreet could never fully repay his debt to the woman who made him strong and turned a weak Acolyte into a proper Sith. For those reasons, he found it hard to contain his excitement and fear. Worried of his own feelings betraying him in this important moment, the former Sith Lord masked his presence and signature.

The door leading to the Council chamber finally slid open, the light from the hallway finding its way into the room, just as well as a shadow that appeared on the table in the centre of the room. That shadow had a characteristic shape of a Togruta; the montrals gave it away immediately. Watching it, smiling, Avreet waited for Grima to come in. Once the woman entered, the Mon Calamari stood up from the seat, his smile growing wider. "Lady Zarrah," his smooth voice carried like honey, the tone clearly showing the one he addressed meant much to him, "I may be immune to the loss of sight thanks to my cybernetic eye, yet your heavenly beauty still blinds me." The Mon Cal purred. "And your smile," the former apprentice of the Togruta continued, "It is a blessing you grant only to the most faithful of your followers."

Raising his finger to signify the importance of his words, he spoke again, his face becoming more serious, "First, let me apologize, for I have deceived you. This is no session of our Council, yet make no mistake, the meeting between the two of us holds great importance. As you may know, the success of our Order, all orders, depends on their leader. It is hard, stressful work, and even the greatest leaders such as yourself need to let go of all their worries from time to time. You are undoubtedly the most important person in my life, you are an inspiration to me, and I take it as my duty to help you." He struggled to find the right words, not knowing what to say despite having a clear idea before the Togruta entered the room.

Snapping his clawed fingers, three packages appeared in the Togruta's seat when Avreet decloaked them. "As such, I have taken the liberty to buy those wonderful presents, just for you, to make you happy. Please, accept them, and take them as a proof of my compliments towards your greatness being more than just words, rather a way to express my feelings." Both amber orbs looked directly into the Grand Magi's eyes, saying more than what his mouth could. This silent, wordless conversation between the two continued for several seconds until a small smile spread across Avreet's lips and he lowered his gaze, not piercing as it used to normally be, but soft and caring.

"My lady,..."
