Sonnie Rain
Hardass
Ethos City, Lithios
It had only been a few months since Sonnie had been released from prison, tracked down the man who had indirectly killed her family, and let him live. Since then, she’s taken to light mercenary work; finding missing persons, killing others who had contracts out on them. She’s made a somewhat decent living for herself. However, she felt empty inside, only the constant war inside her head to keep her company. Why did she let Jay go? Was it really because he seemed so remorseful? Or was it his pitiful state? She didn’t know. That was a thought for later, as she was currently in a bar in some corner of the red light sector, absolutely demolishing some drunk guy at a game of darts. She knew it was going to be an easy challenge when she saw the whole setup: Drinking lowers ones inhibition and motor skills, which is why she saw no point in it. She had won before she even started.
”Well, looks like that’s game. I’ll be taking my credits now.” As she reached over to scoop up the winnings pot, a burly hand held her back. ”I don’t think so, girlie. You cheated somehow.”
Sonnie’s face darkened for a moment, before grabbing the hand in front of her and twisting it at an angle that it wasn’t meant to be in, and the man shot to the floor in response. Crouching down so that her face was level with his, she spoke in a steely tone. ”One, don’t call me girlie. Two, I don’t cheat. You’d realize that if you weren’t drunk off your ass. I’m taking my credits.” With that, she got back up and reached for the pot again, this time facing no resistance. Pocketing the winning money, she stepped out of the bar in silence. She really needed to get off this planet.
