The Great Fall

Naramphra sat on the sturdy bench. She bit into the delicious, tender meat as her eyes watched hyperspace fly by her. The speed at which it went was beautiful, the dazzling display of lights. Nearby was [member="Zhar Xirces"], likely prepping the monstrous being they had held in their cargo bay.

Strangely, they still weren't quite sure what it was - just that it was big, rare, and dangerous. Told it was safer for them to simply smuggle it to the planet it needed to be and not to ask any unnecessary questions. It was a fair request and seemed easy enough - especially considering the many upcoming missions she had been assigned too.

In either case, the monstrous being of Naramphra stretched as she moved to the cockpit, carefully watching as the ship moved forward. Something seemed to be wrong - to which even the great mind of Naramphra couldn't quite put it together. She tsked for a moment, sirens slowly beginning to sound off at various components of the ship.

"Zhar, we have some type of issue. I can't figure it out," she said somewhat disdainfully. How could she not figure it out...? Ah, well, perhaps her star pupil would be of more assistance. Hopefully, it would be a simple oversight on her part.

Zhar wasn't necessarily fond of space travel. But it was necessary, and he accepted it as an incredibly useful tool. Didn't mean it was fun though. He looked at the creature in the cargo bay as he finished making sure everything was all finished. Such a strange journey, but an interesting enough one. Potentially it would serve to be very useful in the future.

It was certainly a good thing they were Draelvasier, humans would have had one horrific time trying to deal with something like this. Sure they could do it, but they might lose people in the process. For them, this was ever so much easier. If still rather a challenge at times. He began to return to the cockpit as Naramphra stretched, he was a few feet taller then her, though he was taller then most Draelvasier, even Baedurin like him.

Sirens seemed to start going off and he let out a grunt in thought, glancing around hearing [member="Naramphra"] mention she couldn't figure it out. Ah well then what good chances I have. he thought sarcastically, "Could be mechanical, I'll go check the engine, see if I can find a problem." he answered and started lumbering his way towards the access point the ships engine, he wasn't necessarily a mechanic. But he understood enough to hopefully find an issue down there.

Naramphra grumbled as she practically smacked the console command. What the heck was going on? She gave a nod at [member="Zhar Xirces"] mentioned it could be mechanical. Well, whatever it was, it wasn't showing up on the sensors - it was just loud, blaring sirens. But if she couldn't figure it out - she fully believed Zhar could.

She had the utmost confidence in her pupil. And while she was a tough teacher, she hoped he knew how proud she was of his growth since he was put into her horde.

Whatever it was - fixing it was becoming a futile and soon to be useless attempt. The ship suddenly exited hyperdrive, thrusting violently towards a planet below. Naramphra could barely read the name of the planet as the gravity controls broke, and everything began to spin wildly, rapidly.

"Be careful!" She yelled towards Zhar, hopeful that he wouldn't get injured by the debris. She used her tail to propel herself forward, finally smashing the reset button that turned the gravity sensors back on. One crisis down. The other problem?

The rocky planet laid right below them - and they had already went through the atmosphere.

"Brace yourself for impact!"

Zhar started trying to look at the engine from as many angles as he could, tapping his massive finger on the sides of some pieces, trying to hear if there was something that was off. Be it fluid where it shouldn't be, or a lack of fluid where it should be, or just a rattling. Zhar had always strived for excellence in everything he did, for plenty of reasons. Some of which were fear, while others was a sense of what else could there be but what he knew? And what he knew was to strive. This was part of what got him where he was under Naramphra, that, and her teachings themselves. Not everyone would be able to work their way through them naturally, but if you could, you would grow all the stronger.

And yet he was still having trouble finding the problem. The irritating part was that if he couldn't find it now, then it might be inside the engine. And that wasn't something you could do while in flight. But he wouldn't have to consider his actions much longer as the ship lurched out of hyperspace and got caught in the gravity of a world, his shoulder rammed into the side of the ship as he nearly fell over from the sudden shift.

Then as he felt the considerable gravity issue and heard Naramphra warn to brace for impact he knew something had gone terrible wrong. Breathing heavily he crouched in a hallway and slammed both hands against either hand with enough pressure to try and keep him in place as they fell. He might lose his grip when they hit but it'd certainly slow him down.
