  The Halcyon Corporation​

  
  As the Confederacy of Independent Systems fell, others arose in its place, and even among those that had fled their home and found their way into the unknown of the Shiraya Expanse, there were those that rose from the ashes. The Halcyon Corporation is what remains of Von Sorenn Industries and its former subsidiaries, their resources, and assets consolidated and utilized to form a new Corporation within the Halcyon System that the Astraeus arrived in after its evacuation from what had previously been Confederate Space. In the interregnum between the collapse of the Confederacy and the foundation of its remnants as the Ascendancy, The Halcyon Corporation established itself as the controller and de facto government of the planet Khrea. Though it maintains close relations with the Ascendancy, it also maintains a claim on the whole of the Halcyon System, evident in its continued establishment of facilities and creation of land grants on neighboring planets despite already established communities and civilizations being present.
  
  Much like its predecessor, The Halcyon Corporation organized itself as a Financial Institution rather than a manufacturer - though it still retains access to manufacturing plants and such capabilities due in part to its acting as a planetary government. Its primary focus remains; The Halcyon Corporation is first and foremost, a Holding Corporation that provides Financial, Investment, and Banking Services to the Ascendancy and its citizens. Its true power and capabilities come from its status as a de facto government as well as its access to exploitable resources to maintain a kind of Aurodium Standard in lieu of more traditional electronic currencies that are utilized more frequently throughout the Galaxy.
  
  Likewise, The Halcyon Corporation does its best to ensure that its employees are well cared for - though the same cannot be said for the unfortunate unemployed residents that also call Khrea home. The Corporations unique position as a de facto government has also seen it crack down heavily on crime - specifically smugglers - as well as on the unemployed population of Khrea.

  Benediction - At the height of its power the Confederacy of Independent Systems spanned multiple systems and was a stabilizing factor in the Southern Systems; despite continued calls and nay-sayers that sought to bring it low, the Confederacy was never tainted by the Sith as it fostered the growth of its member worlds as well as countless smaller governments, militias, political groups, as well as a multitude of planetary, semi-national, and national Corporations. Among these corporations was Von Sorenn Industries, not well known outside of the Confederacy, it had its own minor following within. The successor of Sorenn-Syrush Industries; VSI focused on a policy in line with the decree of Confederacy First, focusing on hiring internally first and foremost before hiring from outside of Confederate Space. All good things, as they say, come to an end; and when the Unmaker and its followers began a coordinated strike - Amelia Von Sorenn sought to save as many lives as possible. Aboard the Astraeus, the central hub of VSI, the Station made multiple trips across the Confederacy to gather as many personnel and resources as Von Sorenn Industries effectively shuttered its doors and evacuated from the collapsing Confederacy of Independent Systems.
  
  The Sun Rises - Following a rendezvous beacon, the Astraeus jumped at the last moment just as the final shuttle of personnel made it aboard and followers of the Unmaker located the Astraeus. In its haste to flee, the Station was damaged, resulting in arriving in the same sector of space, though not at the rendezvous point. The Astraeus, along with Amelia von Sorenn, was effectively lost in space.
  
  874 ABY - Seven Years have passed since the Astraeus arrived above Khrea, and in that time, Von Sorenn Industries restructured itself accordingly. Under its original owner and founder, VSI ceased to exist, its assets were utilized to found a new corporation - The Halcyon Corporation. With Amelia von Sorenn as the Chairwoman of this new Corporation.
