The Hawk's Flight

Only in silence, the word;
Only in dark, the light;
Only in dying, life:
Bright the hawk's flight on the empty sky.

A nameless Delta-7 interceptor settled upon an open meadow along the surface of Alderaan, its thrusters screeching and fading to a halt as the weight of the ship rattled the outer trees of a nearby thicket, waking native woodland critters from their mid-afternoon slumber as they rattled along deeper into the forest. A gentle golden-orange sun, west-bound, was well on its way to evening, but Auron knew there was still plenty of time to venture the woodland ahead. The young Jedi looked out towards the open landscape behind him. He could see in the far distance the outline of mountains and waterfalls. Ahead of him, a maze of dense forested land and the promise of a teacher. Bag upon his back, boots upon his feet, and a lightsaber hanging from his belt, Auron Song stepped forward into what the fates conspired for him.

The road was long and sluggish. The thick vegetation underfoot and lack of solid path made it difficult for steady steps to be achieved. The air was heavy, dense with the moisture and heat contained within. But there was something within this place, Auron could feel its hum that so greatly desired to push forth into the universe, yet was contained in some fashion, and focused. A name was mouthed upon his lips as his thoughts considered the individual he sought, whose identity and any information about had become obscured, or were never clear in the first place to his Order. Nevertheless, there was something about this person that compelled him to find her, and as his thoughts trailed down a path of near-self-destructive contemplation, he happened upon the exterior of exactly what he was looking for. It was almost as though he had fell upon it by instinct, without strictly searching with vigour and dedication. Rather, it was as though it had revealed itself to him.

He examined the building from the distance he stood. It was shrouded in the low mist of the forest, and had signs of woodland growth upon itself in many areas, and yet it stood powerful and strong, its exterior architecture intricate, ornate yet fortified. Several droids stood guard by the building's wide entrance gates, and that familiar hum of the Force resonated from out of the temple. Auron stepped forward, sincere and calm in his walk.
"Hello," he said with gentle tones to the droid, hoping that it was at least sentient enough to recognise basic discussion. "I come seeking the Master of this temple."

Auron would find that the droid just stared, it didn't seem to move or do anything, and soon enough the appearance of a young echani woman landing silently behind him and looked over his shoulder. She had been repressing her signature from the moment he had arrived and even now blinked as she looked at the droid from behind the man and then at the man who would instead of finding a forty something aged woman, the young face of a late teen at best.

"Is his voice box screwed up again... i really do need to repair these things so that they work properly..."

Thus, Auron met the weird sage of Alderaan's forests, a seemingly young woman with a bright appearance to her face. She wore silvered robes that blended in with her hair and skin itself as her pale features didn't seem to tan in the least bit, yet still effectively hid her veins unlike most who would be found with similarly pale skin. Most that had met Alexandra had met her in her past life, so to speak. One with her on the run from the sith, her mind splintered and fractured, yet Auron was meeting a revitalized one, who had come to terms with the fracturing of her spirit, something that still gave her headaches when Daeda and Hel fought inside her head but it was ok.

"Oh, and hello by the way. I don't recognize you as a former visitor or one of my former students, so unless you are Krest in another body i am going to assume you are a Jedi that got a bit curious about the visits made by those before you? Your aura isn't close enough to a sith's for me to even begin to believe that you are one of those... but you don't have a stick shoved up your backside like most Jedi."

The woman's final comment made him snort a little with amusement. It was not all that long ago since he was poking fun on a regular basis of his peers and teachers within the Order, and for a split second he felt what things were like before he changed; before Korriban.
"I'm Jedi, yes. I hope I am not intruding. Are you, by chance, Alexandra Feanor? I have heard you are a master of the Force, of the light side." He spoke softly, almost inwardly to himself but not quite on the path of timidity. She took these moments to look at the woman, and thought perhaps she was not who he was looking for, for she seemed much younger than he expected a temple Master to be. Yet, she alluded to former students. Was she simply an excellent practitioner of the Force, or older than she appeared? It was entirely possible she was both.

Overhead, birds swooned to the song of the afternoon wind that rustled through the leaves of trees standing beyond regular visibility, where it became a blur of warm light and colour afloat in midseason benignity. In grounded contrast, the unsteady motors of the nearby droid could be quite easily discerned amongst the sea of forest ambiance surrounding the picturesque setting within which they stood.

Alexandra looked at the man as he made a snort in amusement, blinking as the man had turned around and without so much as a hint of surprised asked her if she were the master here. Her eyes blinked, confused and staring at him before straightening up and more internal in her conversation right now. Hel was telling her to kill the boy before he could tell people... something she quickly ignored while Daeda could not offer his own explanation which made her brow raise while she sighed.

Finally, she answered him though after a few long and probably uncomfortable moments.

"Yes, I am Alexandra... you know, its no fun when you Jedi stop reacting... something tells me you guys put it in your records that I generally like to sneak up on my guests." Her disappointment was clear but in the end she was smiling again, the woman looking past him again and at the droid which had remained standing there without moving and inch. Her hand came up and pushed the droid over without any effort, revealing it was more for looks than actual use, having been more of a prop.

"Come along, I would rather return to my garden before you we start our conversation. Ok?" She had started walking towards a set of stairs that were built along the outside of the temple, leading up to the roof high above them. She would wait after a few strides and look back at him. "That is assuming you came to talk with me, correct?"

Auron grinned a little at her comment of disappointment. In truth, the sudden appearance gave him a start, but little in recent times proved to truly move him. Something was sown deep within his soul. Thus, he was here, seeking this very woman who stood before her.
"Come along, I would rather return to my garden before we start our conversation. Okay?" She spoke with a cool, unwavering tone, yet something in her voice's undertones implied greater levels of complexity beneath the surface. "That is assuming you came to talk with me, correct?" Auron nodded.
"Yes. I've come looking for something." He did not know what that something was, nor how he would find it, or even if this woman would have the ability to help him realise it, but by this point desperation was taking hold, and this person's mystery was compelling.
