Description:
The Lancer, so named for it's single spinal mounted rail cannon, is a sizable transport built specifically for moving large amounts of equipment and supplies. Beyond the crew required to operate the vessel, bridge crew, gunnery crew, loading personnel and droids, The Lancer is capable of supporting two hundred (200) additional passengers; often in the form of soldiers. The Heavy Freighter can maintain this maximum capacity for two standard years before new supplies of food and water must be brought onboard.
The cargo hold is immense, and spans multiple decks of the vessel. Each deck is acceptable via freight elevator which is large enough to accommodate large vehicles such as battle tanks. The main floor of the hold is able to accommodate up to 20 large vehicles such as combat walkers or main battle tanks. The middle deck can hold another 20 battle tanks however, it lacks the height to accommodate most walkers. Making the second deck more appropriate for speeders at best. The third and uppermost deck is ill suited for storage of anything much larger than a speeder bike or equipment crates.
Of course so far we have only spoken of the military applications of The Lancer. What makes this vessel so well suited for civilian use is it's built in partition system. Each deck of The Lancer's cargo hold has collapsible walls built into the floor, by opening these walls the cargo hold can be remodeled into dozens of separate storage areas. Different products, separate orders and unique customers each getting a private plot within the cargo hold.
