- Hyper-Intelligent/Advanced AI - Heimdall is capable of rapid data analysis and high-speed processing, allowing the artificial intelligence to not only carry out tactical operations but also hyperspace tracking, repelling boarders, serving as an overseer of all other automated systems, and a variety of other tasks onboard a starship.

An order issued from The Throne of Supremacy is not sent to any one Heimdall unit, but rather to the hive mind for assignment to the best-suited unit.
- Persistence after Death - The destruction of whatever is housing a Heimdall unit does not end its existence, as its consciousness is absorbed into the hive mind through the Bifrost frequency. The consciousness remains in the hive mind, waiting until it is installed somewhere else. This way, the Heimdall continues to exist for as long as at least one unit remains operational.
- Central Control System - Orders to a Heimdall unit are issued from the Throne of Supremacy in Darth Patiens Flagship, which are then relayed through a hyperwave relay station located deep within the bowels of the ship. The station is the only source of the Bifrost frequency and transmits signals to all Heimdall units across the galaxy through hyperspace
- Central Mainframe - The heart of Heimdall is susceptible to close-proximity EMP detonations, a weakness that can be easily exploited by boarding parties looking to disable the advanced AI at its source and disable the entire Bifrost frequency and Asgard network should the Throne of Supremacy be destroyed or otherwise disabled.
- Multitasking - To maximize efficiency, Heimdall typically devotes a large quantity of processing power to one task at a time. However, if the AI is running combat probabilities and it has to suddenly switch priorities to internal security, the sudden division in processing power slows down the reaction and accuracy until it can be stabilized.
- Limited Freedom - Each Heimdall can only operate within the parameters of the orders given to them, and though they possess sophisticated strategic thinking and quick wit, they are completely incapable of disobeying their orders or making their own choices.
- Hive mind - Each Heimdall connected to the Asgard network acts more like an appendage of a singular brain, Through the Bifrost frequency, the Heimdall share their thoughts, reactions, instincts and pain, with each Heimdall's destruction experienced by all of its brothers.
- Central Control System - Since the only source of the Bifrost frequency is the Hyperwave relay station located in Darth Patiens flagship and connected to the Throne of Supremacy should it be disabled or destroyed all Heimdall units will be disabled.
While doing a routine stripping of a derelict star ship Darth Patiens and the K2 salavage and repair fleet came across the remains of a GEMINI droid thought to have long been destroyed. Upon further evaluation Darth Patiens and his engineers decided to rebuild the GEMINI's artificial intelligence or what remained of it from the ground up.
They stripped away the outdated software until all that remained was the core intelligence and the personality matrix of GEMINI, the intelligence that served as captains of the Eternal fleet so long ago. They then designed entirely new coding that was then integrated into the core intelligence, bereft of most the old protocols.
Darth Patiens personally oversaw every step of the intelligence's restoration, inputting his own commands and backup protocols where necessary. With the intelligence core rebuilt with new software, Heimdall's personality matrix was reconnected and intertwined with the new protocols.
Patiens abandoned the old name of GEMINI and renamed the artificial intelligence Heimdall. Not content to just possess one Heimdall, Darth Patiens commanded that copies of Heimdall be created and installed on every ship in the fleet and every ship built from here on out.
