- Home on the Range: As it is where he lives and sleeps, the Horizon has most of the minor comforts of home, such as sanitation systems, food refrigeration, and a holo-game table. It can comfortably house and sleep up to ten humanoid passengers of average size.
- Longtooth: The Horizon has been significantly upgunned from the stock model, sporting a variety of added weaponry and exotic defenses.
- Swiftrunner: The Horizon is quicker than it looks, being customized to outrun pursuit if it cannot out-fight it. As such, it sports an excellent sublight speed for so bulky a vessel, alongside a very fast hyperdrive.
- Museum Piece: The Horizon is undeniably ancient, held together by its owner's skill with jury-rigging and kept around due to sentimental value. It is ceaselessly experiencing minor breakages, necessitating significant time to fix.
- Elbow Grease: Occasionally, the above-mentioned breakages are not so minor, requiring its owner to land where possible, patch the damage in creative ways, or simply purchase new parts.
- Bullet Fiend: With the sole exception of its Solar Ionization cannon, the Horizon's armament is almost entirely ballistic in nature. As such, it may find itself coming up short against more powerful shielding meant to turn away solid projectiles.
An ancient, moldering relic of a vessel, it is nonetheless beloved by its owner. While Cobalt could almost certainly purchase better, the Horizon is home, and one doesn't trade home for credits.
It has been extensively customized by its owner, who expends a steady stream of time and credits to keep it functional. When one thing is fixed, two more break, and the interior is riddled with patch-jobs, field-fixes, and any number of creative solutions to keep the thing running. The exterior would suggest that Cobalt fished the vessel from a garbage dump, which, as it happens, is precisely what occurred.
Most of the interior, however, is surprisingly pleasant and clean. Small trinkets lay scattered about, mementos from past jobs and exotic locales. A modest shrine is tucked away in one closet, containing various hand-carved images of one Scab ancestral spirit or another.
Guest accommodations are humble, but comfortable, with two small rooms dedicated to housing visitors. Ample food refrigeration, climate control, and gaming facilities ensure a pleasant trip for all involved.
The vessel's ramshackle appearance belies its deadliness, and it possesses an enormously increased armament from the stock Doomtreader. Given the Scab's preference for ballistic weaponry, the vessel is bristling with autocannons, capable of fending off pursuing fighter craft, other freighters, or potentially even a smaller corvette. A concussion missile suite and a twin-barrel ionization cannon round out the Horizon's panoply, but its primary weapon is a phosphor cannon purchased from Helix Solutions.
Most of these armaments are linked to the cockpit, but can be operated by other crewmen should any be available.
Defensively, the Horizon possesses an armored hull that provides a balanced if mediocre protection from most common damage types. Additionally, it boasts a holoshielding suite capable of obscuring the ship's true position, as well as turning away a few hits should enemy fire strike true.
Should this impressive armory fail, the Horizon is quite good at running away. It is surprisingly nimble and quick for its size, and coupled with a blisteringly-quick hyperdrive, those who underestimate this "junk heap" do so at their own peril.
