Faction The House of M

Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
Location: Silver Rest

The Silver Rest had been rebuilt... massive in its scale and carved from the rocks on the planet that had formed. Trees lining the edges of it as they stayed near the forests where they had been rebuilding and helping with the debris. The grandmaster staying there in the office but allowing it a moment as the archway doubled for other purposes. Like accessing the temple on Ahch-To through the netherworld of unbeing... a concept from the jedi texts and in reality for force users a place. Several of the jedi she trusted were within the silver jedi and some seemed to only come around to talk but that was fine. The grandmaster could make it work a she moved from the office to the balcony and looked on the temple. Padawans were training in various colored robes... denoting clans within the order. Padawan clans being brought back were important and rather fun, knights and masters were using the environmental designs to test their abilities and the large kyber arch was there as a memorial to the fallen... if the massive statues were not already something that showed it.

The layout of the temple altered so the central henge channeled the force into a central location and it fed into and off of the nexus at the heart of the rest which made the crops grow faster, larger and more healthy for you infused with force energies. The functionality of the temple was also a key aspect... Mi'la Undari Mi'la Undari had given them some good ideas in restoring different worlds and with those temples you could get small councils to lead them... each head able to function as a member of the main councils here at the rest. Fifty two to be exact as the jedi master accelerated some of the restoration projects thanks to The Ancilla and the new Materia they had designed which allowed them to build temples from design programs. Caltin Vanagor Caltin Vanagor was essential for his ideas in how to build aspects of the temple and relations with the wookiees. Gir Quee Gir Quee and Hanna Ike Hanna Ike in working with the assembly. They even had more going into it as Zak Dymo and Sor-Jan Xantha provided aid in their own ways.

Her feet touching the ground the jedi master was smaller then some of the students... their heads remaining fixed on their kata's as with the chance to improve them she had tried to streamline the training and teachings in a way that opened them to adapting but also would better prevent past problems to happen again. One of the Biot MK.IV's approached giving a datapad as the coordinator biots were some of the finest one could create and for administration few could match them. "We have managed to increase production of equipment for the field kits... the explorer corp teams you have been assigning will be able to work with wookiee teams on the world as well as on other worlds." Which wa good, their recovery efforts of jedi temples and locations meant some they might have to rediscover or locate... so massive expansion of exploration teams was a given as well defenders in their combat training. Since the jedi shadows largely stayed in their temple until ordered and the silver shadows acted like.... something.

The temple guards she could see training... one of Caltins ideas was for more of them and they were being taught with some of the finest skills for handling threats but also for investigating disturbances. The big man might have been teaching them as well she wasn't certain but there was more then enough room for him to get in there while she could hear the thunderous crashes and movements of the heralds from Project Herald... a small group maybe but they were giants among the jedi. Augmented force super soldiers who were loyal and trained. The different generations able to be seen if you looked close enough. THe first the more aged and battle scarred soldiers who joined and brought experience, the second the ones who had a reason to join and seek justice for their worlds destroyed by the Bryn and sith... their mentality better suited then what Laertia Io Laertia Io did making them her personal army... and then the third generation who were children and trained from birth as Heralds among the jedi.

The silver sheen to her grandmaster robes obscuring Senbonzakura or Haineko which were shown on her hip while wearing the robes mostly for show. Normally in her sleeves when she had sleeves on her robes. There was more as she approached the central tree at the heart of the henge... the lwer depression allowing the rangers to defend it along with paladins... and temple guards. Walking into the cenote style sink hole that went down deeper then most and fed into waters they were channeling.. she lept towards the central island the tree that was there growing and sending out amniod fluid through the temple... turning it into almost a living thing that had several points within its structure which functioned to keep the force in a loop... almost again like a living body. The classes that were taught under the tree being something seen and done so all could experience the feeling of the force. The ones there being the first class she was sending out to advance some of their exploration and recovery efforts.

He was indeed standing among and around the Temple Guard who were in the middle of a rather intense training session. They were considered "off" and in many cases "brutal" and "cruel" in several respects. While he was not here to take that edge away from them, The massive Jedi Master wanted to change their image. This was a tricky play indeed, but one he was up for. The new Silver Rest needed them to be on their game, but they also needed them to be able to stand among the crowd and not disperse them (when not necessary). The Heralds were interesting, Supersoldiers in every sense of the word but quiet and reserved. They were almost like statues when not "activated".

This was an amazing accomplishment mainly on the part of Master Ike. Input and ideas were indeed taken into account, but this was not just a "spire" near a Wookiee village anymore. It was a "Jedi City" in many respects. This Metropolis was not just gleaming, but stood in a manner that was respectful to as well as inclusive of the Wookiee tribes, not only nearby but all over. It stood almost in harmony with the planet itself but also as a beacon which could defend it.

This was one of the reasons that while he had been spending a lot of his "Work time" with the New Jedi Order, he felt "right" about the Silver Jedi Concord. The Silvers were at their lowest point after the fall of the "Rest", but this is the beginning of a fine future for not only the Silver Concord but the Jedi as a whole.

THE SILVER REST ver.2.0
The Room of a Thousand Speakers
hZFxlpS.png
He had the speakers turned up and the subwoofers pounding.

Now this was his kind of temple! A seemingly endless array of instruments. Matsu Ike Matsu Ike had even included a double keytar! It was everything that the Nautolan could have hoped for.

Well, not everything. If he'd gotten everything he'd hoped for, then Matsu would have combined the Room of a Thousand Speakers with the Room of a Thousand Fountains. That would have been an underwater disco den of awesome!

This was dry but he supposed most of these instruments sounded better in air anyway.

There was a natural grace with how the boy manipulated the instrument. It was something other than talent. It was something other than luck. It moved. It connected. He felt it all around him. He felt it within him.

Most of the time, he couldn't let it out. There was something missing.

And then he realized, it was music.

"Write it on the skyline. All we had is gone now."

The boy's soprano was hoarse with the emotion of the song, connecting with the sorrows and joys that infused what had been, both the fallen and the raised. The feelings sparked memories of his own. Some wanted. Others, he wanted to forget. "Tell them I was happy and my heart is broken. All my scars are open. Tell them what I hoped would be im-pos-si-ble... im-pos-si-ble... im-pos-si-ble... impossible."

His fingers danced an intricately woven series of notes as the Nautolan diverted from the usual tempo of the song he was adapting, delving into an instrumental bridge as he gave himself over to the feel of the Force working through the guitar. The stubby head-tails snapped back and forth as the boy pitched himself into motion, feet moving in a blur as he danced in a whirlwind of energy and sound.

Some people found their center and healing in meditation.

Zak needed something a little louder than that.

"Falling out of love is hard. Falling for betrayal is worse. Broken trust and broken hears, I know... I know..."

The sounds were there... wonderful and serene as she could hear the children training. Many more of them were around her as they got a chance to listen to the instructor. The darker leathers of their robes. The design made to make them stand out while the others were in their training robes. The grandmaster feeling the presence of the big man as Caltin was getting a chance to do what he was able to with the temple guard and there were the supports he might need. She rose up from the lesson and made a show walking across the gap of the cenote from the tree before the energy bridge would be activated. There was also the presence and sounds... you couldn't hear them the room was intentionally soundproof in several ways... but if you felt you could feel the vibrations of it. Zak was here and he was playing as she wondered if he was already thinking of what was needed or wanted next." The jedi grandmaster was walking through the rest as the streets were being maintained and cleared of debris or obstruction for all of them to have a flow. "Is everything going as you had hoped master Vanagor?"

He had work to do with these guard. Those who were still around from the old Spire were of a certain "mentality" whereas those who wished to volunteer and join were a bit overwhelmed. This was now becoming a matter of finding a balance between them. A level which was not a "compromise" but something attainable for each of them. Vanagor did not expect this to be easy, but clearly the attitudes were going to need to get in line. Being a Temple Guard was an honor, not a "job" or "entitlement", they all needed to see that. He was right where he needed to be in this case...

... and it was going to be fun.

Each move, each counter, each stance, all controlled, they had a long way to go but the potential to be "one" and not just a collection was there. As Mater Ike appeared from her usual "out of nowhere" he no longer inwardly flinched.

That and more, Master Ike. That and more.

Or'Fol walked around a bit slowly, still amazed at the progress. Yes, he was hold up helping with the archives that were left, and copies of info from everywhere. He was just happy to see how well things were going. The herglic would soon notice two of his fellow masters, Caltin and Matsu, and would quickly great them.

"The... well I've heard them call it a city. Quite fitting. It's come along really well. Sounds like a certain padawan is enjoying himself as well." He smiled a bit thinking about it all. "All the data that we have so far is stored, and sorted."

The young Mandalorian breathed carefully as she pulled the HF-3 Aran around. This was her first time really flying on a "mission" by herself.... Really it was just delivering a data stick, but it was something. The deep rolling of the thrusters could be heard and she looked over.

"K, get the landing zone will ya?" The V-3 Series Astromech grumbled a bit before getting in touch with landing control, and soon she had her pad and was ready. Just had to remember what her ba'vodu (aunt) showed her. She came in carefully and....

Scree!!!!

Leddie winced she looked at the droid who just whistled a few to her before getting a crossed look.

"Not. A. Word." She then grabbed everything, checked the ship and the only slightly scrapped landing pad before heading out. She really wanted to hurry up, but it was insane to see this place. It was... a lot bigger than last time. As she ran though she got a bit distracted hearing someone singing? Playing music. K seemed to grumble a bit and tap her, but the Zabrak figured she had some time to go take a look at what was going on.

The feelings of the area around her were different... more could come and see and above a ship was coming in. THe jedi masters eyes drifted up for a moment bu the larger hanger and port would serve for them to land in and now better designation. Or'fol was there and. "Yes master Moric. We have went above and beyond for the archives and library... much like the monolith we have control of it is stocked with everything we could get here and elsewhere." She said it and smirked a little to herself at that... few had fought and did operations in the mirrorverse they went against... or those weird extradimensional excursions to the netherworld to try and find treasures or stranger things.

She walked though and Caltin was here with more... Zak's music you could feel in the air thankfully not the massive sound just the vibration... brah.... yeah that was his word and she regretted it the moment she thought it. "Just wait until you see our extradimensional force gate." She said it and looked at the two of them... it wasn't supposed to be a secret just the culmination of her research. "There might also be the new pretty council and high council chambers for organizing the order itself." SHe had a few other surprises but well best to let a few things remain for them to discover... she was sure they advanced living modules for making any food they wanted would suffice for now.

Zak had escaped from the Room of a Thousand Speakers.

Because the music would not be contained!

...and also because he really wanted to see the Room of a Thousand Fountains. For one, there was water everywhere. And, for another, this would make for a totally astral backdrop for his next single.

"He sees them talking with a big smile... But they haven't got a clue," the boy sang, as his fingers plucked the melody on the guitar that he wielded, dancing in circled as he splashed in and out of the water features in the palatial room. "Yeah, they're living the good life can't see what he is going through..."

Adjusting his grip on the neck, the boy shifted the tone and key as he continued. "They're driving fast cars, but they don't know where they're going
In the fast lane, living life without knowing. And he says I wish that I could be like the cool kids, 'cause all the cool kids, they seem to fit in."

The melody came naturally, as his fingers moved across the instruyment. "I wish that I could be like the cool kids... Like the cool kids..."

Zabka Bis'clavret, once known (and feared) during The Gulag Era as the infamous Man in White, walked the world of Kashyyyk towards the Silver Rest, marveling at its size...

and doubling over, feeling the echoes of the pain and death that had occured here.

He should have been used to the carnage by now. Force knew the piles of bodies he had made to stop Darth Phyre the first time.

But he was never used to it. Not really. He could swallow his disgust and horror, push through it to function, but he had never really gotten used to it, no matter how many times he was exposed to it...or engaged in it...

He made sure to call his son, Starlin Rand Starlin Rand , every now and then. Make sure he was staying safe. And sober. He'd had some bad experiences himself in that field. He'd always try and listen.

But they hadn't had a lot of time to get in contact. Zabka had been starting to train others again. He wasn't doing it through official channels. Matsu Ike Matsu Ike would know nothing of what he plotted.

He had been hamstrung by protocol once, even during the Plague, he had been forbidden from going too far by what counted for a Jedi Council in such chit times.

It had prolonged the conflict, to say the least. And a thoroughly disillusioned Zabka had no intention of letting it go that far ever again.

The Cult of The Brain Demon would die, one way or another.

But that still left the question of what to do with House Io.

They would obviously have to be destroyed, if they refused to surrender even then.

After a few moments he recovered himself. The message behind Matsu rebuilding it so huge was clear, that it didn't matter how much pain House Io could inflict, they would rebuild stronger.

The problem with that reply was this...

House Io didn't care how strong your walls were. They were not as interested in destroying mere walls as they were bringing trauma, ruin, and misery, at every turn for Jedi. A new atrocity to heap on them every few weeks in the form of mangled flesh and ruined brains, and no matter how much Matsu rebuilt a place, she could not do the same with people, and it was people, Jedi people, that The House was more interested in affecting in the negative, than any one structure. People could be turned into time bombs if you hurt them enough. Even with the best of treatment, a sufficiently traumatized Jedi could still be affected even years after the event.

It was this message, this vile sentiment, that prompted the sight Zabka was to witness as he got closer to the giant main entrance to the Jedi City.

Zabka eyed a procession of packages being dropped off at the front gate, by a Repulsor truck, whose pilot was being questioned by several Jedi Knights as to how he had come to deliver them.

"I swear, the invoice looked legit!" the pilot, a Nautolan said to the Jedi. "The packages were sent to me from my company and cleared it before they even loaded it. I have no idea why you're all so concerned. The letter says charity donation, in honor of the Silver Rest getting rebuilt."

"We need to see what's in these. Immediately..." a Jedi Knight said.

Zabka winced, doubled over even worse at the intense feelings of pain and suffering he felt at close range.

It reminded him of Phyre's atrocities during the Gulag Plague.

"Excuse me..." Zabka said, getting control of himself as he approached...

The Jedi Knights turned. "Who are you?"

"Bis'clavret. Zabka Bis'clavret."

(Clip of Bond Theme Plays)

"I'm gonna need to take a look at those."

"On whose authority?" another Knight asked.

"On the authority that the packages have magical booby trap spells most likely." Zabka answered, annoyed as he approached, wincing at the pain and evil he felt in the packages...

He whispered various counter curses, trying to drudge up anything they might have done to tamper with the packages.

Nothing. No curse of Darkness. No touch based magical traps. Clean. It was just packaged pain.

Zabka took out a utility knife and began cutting open the packages.

"HEY! You gonna pay for that?" the truck drive complained. "I'm liable for any damage to the packages before they're successfully delivered!"

"Quiet." Zabka replied, opening up to reveal a solid durasteel casing.
He parted it stepped back, and wanted to throw up.

It was another Jedi, captured by House Io. The most horrible part was that 90 percent of the time the House didn't kill the Jedi they captured. They didn't seem to even really be all that interested in turning them. Just cutting them off from the Force, mutilating them, and then sending them back to the Order. Broken. Death of a thousand cuts.

That's why the full throated attack on The Silver Rest had struck him as so odd in how full throated, how unrelentingly vicious it was.

He suspected it had been a distraction, just like that tower SJC forces had been lured to. A Jedi Trap.

It didn't matter now. What mattered was the limbless man, kept alive with a cybernetic support system. To make it more difficult for the healers, House Io had began poisoning their nervous system with a toxin (Suspected to be derived From Blood Poison gems) that kept them in agony, forcing healers to exhaust themselves trying to burn it out of the system, never mind trying to restore the connection.

"Get a medic. And an EOD team." Zabka told the other Jedi, who grimaced at the unholy, murderous sight.

"We found thermal detonators wired to these things sometimes..." Zabka said grimly. But even he couldn't hide the quiet horror that crossed his face as he saw three more flat bed repulsorlift trucks, each carrying several packages apiece, in the distance.

Zabka looked at the flinching victim, still thrashing, even unconscious, from the sheer pain his body was in.

Zabka began sending out waves of internal light within, trying to reduce the suffering of the individual in the capsule. Other Jedi, deciding to keep this as low key as possible, quietly sent an encrypted message to Matsu Ike Matsu Ike about the incident outside.

Zabka then raced inside, as he feared it might be a distraction. a set up. He needed to view the security records immediately.

For what else had been going on while this was being delivered?

The message came to her as the rest manifested, the collected star served here as a voice of the temple itself. Ethereal, slender, yet formed like a god: at once lithe and voluptuous. Her only garments was a broad silken sash that wrapped around her chest and down her stomach leading into a mythosaur skull.. Her white ivory limbs and her rich black hair fell in rippling burnished clusters down her supple back. Her dark eyes burned even under the sash that covered them like a miraluka. The rest had chosen from the cosmic force its form and was tall.. impossibly tall as it came from the uneti tree and looked down at the others who were there.

The jedi master looked up but didn't need to see what was happening.. someone was at the gates but they were not sure if it was friend or foe.. the clarity gate served as a means for those coming to be vetted, to be searched. the rules and shielding not lifting for them until they completed the twenty four hours of meditation. THe walls of the rest pulsing with power as it reached out and was alerting the coordinator biots that were connected to the force itself. THey coordinated the others to observe and report at speeds few others could match as the avatar turned its head little by little and the students that Matsu were around looked up.

"Shhh shhh it will be okay, it is the rest itself. it isn't just us who protects it from attack, it protects us, it nurtures us, it has...." She said it while looking and offering a smile while they had a chance to see more information coming in from the computers that were biological and gathering the information about what was at the gates. "Well it has more then enough to it now."

When he saw the avatar, Caltin thought to himself quite simply that “Finally, someone bigger than I am.” He had an idea of what “she” was, but it was only confirmed upon appearance. It only took moments when the massive Jedi Master turned to the Temple Guard gathered, both “new” and “old”. Right now it did not matter who they were, this would be a part of their field training.

Group up in teams of four, veterans. I want two of you with new members. Patrol the courtyards and corridors. You are there not just to “keep the peace” but to show those among us that all is okay.

There were Heralds there, standing guard as well.

I need you and your colleagues to man the entry points. Above and below ground. Leep in communication.

“What about you, Master Vanagor?” asked Aliq, one of the Senior Guard. His name was not common knowledge outside of the Guardsmen. Caltin pulled the hood over his head and grabbed his things.

I will be going to check on our Wookiee friends.

He did not need to mention that he was an honorary member of the tribe whose tree was nearby.

Or'Fol looked shocked as the strange form that appeared, quickly looked to Matsu before patting her shoulder before looking at Caltin.

"I'll join you. Assuming you need the help of an old archivist." He just smirked a bit soon following the fellow Master. He wasn't really sure what good he'd be that wasn't already being done around the temple, so helping Caltin seemed like the best he could do for now.

She nodded along a bit to the song, but soon wasn't quite doing good at the stealthy bit she was trying, mostly thanks to K whistling a bit louder to get her attentions.

The defenses were there.. the Heralds moving as Caltin Vanagor Caltin Vanagor wanted them to and the grandmaster remained near the children but she expanded her thoughts and stretched outwards. using the lifepulse of the rest to search and follow through the amniod fluid which brought their connection to the force further and stretched across the rest. "It will be fine, we have plenty of protections here now that were seen before." The jedi master said it and there were other things, the systems being a mixture well were better so it was harder to infiltrate and damage or hamper their responses with rangers and paladins.

Everyone dispersed without question, or even really another word. A combination of "Old Republic" professional stoicism and "Silver Jedi" zeal it was actually good to see that the "old guard" were taking to his approach and the "new guard" were fitting in nicely. This was not a "social club" at all, but it was not the way it was back when he was Knighted. The respect to the tradition will always remain in his eyes, but "that was then and this is now." Or'Fol Moric Or'Fol Moric seemed a bit lost here, and while Vanagor wished no ill will, he secretly hoped that his fellow Council Member (much like others) saw that this is what he brought to the Council and that he was not just an empty chair.

Always glad to work and walk with you, my friend. Walk with me.

As they began their trek to the wroshyr tree that was his destination. Everything was fine as Heralds were already in their positions and guardsmen were making their rounds. Caltin had known about these Heralds for a long time, but had never really seen them in action. They were a sight for certain. It was when the two Masters reached outside that everything went south. The big man was actually quite calm which would probably surprise many, but this was his element, right in his proverbial "wheelhouse." Vanagor was in control of everything "Guardian" wise but the look of the victim still out there without being fully attended to yet was disconcerting. Turning his head back into the Rest, he spoke up.

Where are the healers?!

They were indeed coming, and in fact were around the corner with a transport team that would bring the fallen Jedi back into the new complex. What caught Vanagor's eye was the four guardsmen that came out with their lightsabers engaged.

Whoah! Weapons down, now.

While all four immediately responded to the order, one of them, "Rahs" to other guardsmen spoke up, Vanagor recognized him by voice as an "old guard.""Master Vanagor, we met with The Man in White The Man in White who called for security records. He was speaking with others when we came out here to secure the ares. With respect, our training dictates that we are to appear to secure an area in full readiness mode. This is the way of..." Brow furrowed, Caltin did not interrupt him, but Rahs stopped on his own.

You are in "readiness mode" simply by being here. I am aware of the previous mode of training and how it is often easy to fall back on. You have to understand though that you are a presence right here and now. Anyone who knows of "The Temple Guard" and the legend that goes with the title understand just who you are already. You are not "pacifists", I do not want you to be, but you are here to keep the peace, not just make it.

A far cry from what he would have done in the past, Vanagor just left everything he just said on the proverbial table. The Heralds who decided to take the main gates were in position as the Guardsmen went back to their patrols. It was indeed different from "his time", but they were not the sole line of defense now, they had "backup". With everything now seemingly becoming more and more secure here, the big man looked over at Or'Fol and just nodded for him to follow.

Our tree is right over there.

Nodding towards the north, he pointed towards an enormous, and very old wroshyr tree. The settlement built within was huge and if "The Archivist" noticed, he would see their tribal banners waving the same insignia as one of Caltin's tattoos. The Massive Jedi Master was not blind to it either. Once they were far enough away from the Temple, he spoke up about it.

I don't know if I have ever told you the story, but back when I was a Knight, I was here with another. We got lucky and somehow managed to uncover a terrible plot that, if successful, would have meant genocide of the Wookiee population. Anyway, a group of Nikto were trying to finish off the Wookiees in a manner that would point back to Trandoshans. That tree was their starting point. Well, Garyn, the other Jedi and I, we not only rescued the clan, but we also saved the tree from a horrible fire. They made us each "honorary family members" marking us with their crest. We were also invited to attend the ascent ceremony of one of their younglings. "Llabruf" was his name. Well... when I came back here after being on ice for so long, not only is this tree and clan still thriving... Llabruf is one of the elders.

Through his monologue, he led them to the settlement's gateway. He was of course waved in and welcomed. Or'fol would be treated like an honored guest. By chance, the elder was nearby, in one of the lifts.

[Are you telling stories about my childhood again?] The Wookiee snickered. For an elderly man, Llabruf was still very spry and a fighter, even if he was sluggish and in pain from the inside out.

Nothing that isn't true, old friend. You're looking great. The settlement is as fantastic as ever.

It wasn't hard to say this with a smile. This Wookiee was one of his links to his past. It made him smile just thinking about it all.

[Well, it will never be on the level of a Kachirho, but it serves us well and is our home. Master Or'Fol, is it? I welcome you. I am "Llabruf."]

I came by to check on you and the family. Are things okay here?

Or;fol watched at Caltin gave the commands to everyone. This was more his place than the herglic's for sure. It wouldn't escape his eye as they walked though that one of his fellow Master's tatoos matched one of the flags. The man than relayed the story of how he became on honorary member of their family. He smiled a bit, nodding as they walked through the gateway.

"You have had quite the live, Caltin." As they got to the village, Or'fol would nod to Llabruf, smiling a bit.

"It is an honor, Llabruf."

The others were heading off into their smaller groups.. a means to investigate yes and a better chance for the jedi master to be able to see what was happening around them. She continued to be there and around the children but was bringing the information to herself. Looking over data as it was able to lead the children and clapped her hands. "THis way." She went through it and from the center of the Uneti tree at the heart of the temple the large stone was there... a lightsaber hilt embedded within it. "While master Vanagor handles things in his way we will go over a few things. This is the blade of kashyyyk... not the most original but it was made for who will become the watchman of this world. A deeper connection to the planet and it has been fashioned in a way to let a jedi able to lift it become closer to the planet."

She said it with a smile on her face though and let them try and lift it. The sleek silver and wood polished hilt staying in the stone as the solarite when not bonded to someone could weigh as much as a planet or more... Impossibly heavy but she let them try. One almost for a moment seemingly able to jostle it much to the others cheers. THe jedi grandmaster was letting more and there was her own herald who was acting as a bodyguard allowing some of the children to try and pull them down as the massive force enhanced soldier stood in their armor. Walkwith with the grandmaster and dragging the others but taking care not to step on them. THey were going to a different chamber fo the temple and one of the councils who oversaw the rest were not there yet but the display of the rest let them see the sprawling temple with images of people moving around

The youngling Wookiees seemed to crowd around Or'Fol Moric Or'Fol Moric almost mesmerized. It was like the had never seen a herglic before in person and that is because more of them hadn't. Llabruf was going to wave them off for being rude to the guest, but Caltin waved him off. Or'Fol could more than handle this type of thing, he was the type to excel at being around children. Besides...

... it was entertaining...

Once they had all seemed to disperse, Llabruf himself took them on a tour, Caltin knew this place inside and out (he had helped repair and build it several times over) but it was for Or'Fol... and Llabruf really, the elder enjoyed this and it kept him active. [The Honor is mine, my friend. Jedi are always welcome here, and Caltin has been legend, family and friend to us.]

It's not "The life of Reilly" but it's been a good one.

Especially now, he had purpose, he had a life.

It was when they talked about what The Man in White The Man in White had managed to come across that horrified the Wookiee. He had grown such an appreciation for Students of the Light and the thought that one could be butchered so harshly was horrifying. [I assure you my friends, we will keep our walls tight and protected and if we see so much as the smallest thing, we will let you know.]

Don't worry yourself old friend. Keep the little ones safe around you and happy.

Reaching the upper parts of the tree, one could see a wonderful angle of the new Silver Rest. Looking to Or'Fol he nodded.

Nice view, eh?

Zabka found himself trying to head deeper only to be stopped at the Clarity Gate with a Jedi gate guard standing watch

"My apologies, but no one enters without the requisite 24 hours meditation."

The Spirit of whatever controlled the Clarity gate itself seemed to exert force that tried to prevent him from entering.

Big Walls. Big Walls just invite trickier and more indirect means. And not only had they rebuilt the Rest right where it had exploded, they had rebuilt it bigger, with even more Jedi packed inside.

He didn't want to be within two kilometers of this place when Xiphos decided to stop fething around and really hit it. He'd give Matsu Ike Matsu Ike credit for stubbornness. But stubbornness only made Xiphos double down.

"Some maniac parks our mutilated buddies out on the front porch and you're more concerned that I haven't meditated. Get your priorities straight..." he grumbled, the Jedi Guard folding his arms at Zabka's unflattering assessment.

"If you think a Clarity Gate is gonna prevent your enemies from finding a way into this giant kill box Master Ike built...think again..."

"It's preventing you from finding a way in." The Guard pointed out in a self assured manner that irritated him.

"Because I don't want you dead, dumbass. And I'm not willing to destroy the entrance to prove a point." Zabka replied. "The freak that delivered those mutilated Jedi could be setting up a distraction for another attack."

"We have the situation well in hand. Xiphos can't touch the Rest now. I'm sorry, but there are no exceptions. Your agitated state would only be counter-productive. Please, meditate, and clear your--"

That was as far as the Gate Keeper got before Zabka was walking away. They had learned nothing except how to complicate walking through a door.

He had no time for the red tape, no patience for Jedi Bureaucracy, and he definitely was not in a mood to fething meditate.

He walked right out, deciding right then and there he was not going to return to the Silver Rest. That was the most absurd, bullchit security measure he had ever seen, and would stop exactly no one willing to take the most practical, direct method to breach it. It sure as hell wouldn't stop someone like Syd. It certainly wouldn't stop House Io when they got ready to really mess with this place.

If he wanted to stop the Cult there was no way he could count on them. That door had proven it.

As he walked back out into the night air he decided to focus on helping the mutilated Jedi more directly. That was when he saw the Repulsor truck in the distance, picking up speed.

His Force Sense flared, and he grabbed one of his pistols as he sensed the danger and opened fire madly in the cockpit of the truck, trying to pierce the transparisteel shielding, only to find it bounced off.

He channeled the Force through his pistol as the truck picked up more speed, making a beeline right for the entrance. Jedi that tried to halt it with Telekinesis or Force Ionize found its was nearly impossible to effect, and Zabka realized the hull had been enchanted momentarily, with the effects of Force Resistance.

"EVERYBODY BACK! BACK!" Zabka yelled, opening fire as fast as possible. He finally succeeded in killing or wounding the pilot, because the truck jackknifed and tumbled over, away from the woods. He still sensed extreme danger.

"GET AWAY FROM IT! RUN! GET BACK!" he yelled at nearby Knights and Padawans, waving them away. "GET BA--"

The explosion that resulted from the truck packed with 20 kilos of Type 1 Explosive Compound shook the ground and burst part of the woodlands around it. Zabka and many others were thrown to the ground, momentarily blinded by the brilliance of the explosion. It had been far enough away that no one innocent had gotten hurt...Zabka had killed the driver literally just in time. But if it had truly gotten close to the rest the results could have been devastating.

Zabka rose up, the weak end of the shockwave from the blast having caught people even as far away as it had been from the actual rest. Just what the hell was the stuff they had put in the vehicle?

He could hear alarm klaxons sounding from within the temple. Another probing attack, to test reactions and response.

He coughed, the blast having knocked the air out of him. He ran over to a Jedi that had been closer to the explosion and turned her over, seeing her cry out in pain. Her ribs were broken. Even as far as she had been her ribs were broken. Whatever they had used, it had a potentially very large kill radius.

He began whispering healing spells, reflecting on how even if they kept making the same mistakes, they didn't deserve this...

The girl cried out as the bones began to mend.

Don't breathe too deep. You'll hurt yourself..." he said, bug she couldn't hear him. The blast had shattered her eardrums.

Whatever else Zabka was, he wasn't an Enemy.

Just then a burst transmission, from a transmitter placed deep in the woods, sent out a pre recorded message. It was meant to be picked up on all channels the rest used. He even heard it on his own comm link.

It was the voice of Darth Xiphos.

"You know who I am..."

Zabka stared at the fires that had started in the woods, quickly being extinguished

"You don't know where I am..."

Zabka's fist clenched as he stared at the massive crater the blast had left, running to another wounded Jedi to help fix his internal injuries...

"And You'll. Never. See. Me. Coming..." the transmission from Darth Xiphos finished (Ready for another lesson?: 7000 XP)
