The Hunt For the Weapon of Legends

Lynn Corerunner, the girl seeking to become not only a peacekeeper and protector for the Jedi, but also a blademaster. While she did not agree with his methodology, she did recognize he was the greatest Lightsaber practitioner to possibly ever exist; Mace Windu. Many believed he died that day in the senate, but Lynn had been studying him for quite sometime and learned he did live on. The records speculated a possible fall of Windu to the Dark Side after his defeat. She did not know what she believed on it, but it is clear he flirted with the Dark Side and even gave in at times.

What was more important to Lynn was not the man itself, but the BadMother, Wace Windu's lightsaber. She was gathering her research and zoning in on the lightsaber's location. The lightsaber was apart of the jedi just like the Force so believing it fell out of his hand was small. Except, his hand fell with it when Vader cut it off. It did fall out the window, but it was not retrieved. Sure they tried, but it was gone when Windu went for it. A lowlife found it and it began being stolen and moved through the underground. It then found itself in the hands of a Jedi. As hard as that is to believe, it is where it got to and that Jedi lived.

The Badmother found itself traveling from hand to hand, specifically passed down through the Jedi's family to the point it was no longer a weapon, but a family heirloom. Lynn was sure of this so she gathered her things and sought out permission to leave the grounds. Once she was cleared she jumped into her X-Wing with R9-D2. Arnine beeped a few times at Lynn, "Yes, I know you were relaxing, but this is important, will you just trust me?" Arnine beeped a response that sounded awfully sarcastic. Her ship left the hanger and headed through the atmosphere heading. "Arnine, plot a course for Tython." The ship made a few sounds before it entered into hyperspace. Lynn took this opportunity to rest and meditate on the Force.

Once the ship exited hyperspace, Lynn;s eyes slowly opened from her meditation. This was the first time she had ever seen Tython and she found it so beautiful. It's history, the birth of the Jedi, yet an odd spot for a prideful Jedi's former lightsaber. She brought her ship down the planet and was greeted by the new Tython, a more civilized, but peaceful society. While people had moved here it had become more of a get away world. It had cities and even a palace, but it was now a neutral place to find peace and freedom from the war. Seemed odd to Lynn the royal family had a lightsaber family heirloom.

As her ship came into the hanger and she was greeted by the locals she was told the royal family, the Ryanni family. They were the descendants of the Jedi who found Windu's lightsaber, but they were also the founders of this new Tython. They welcomes Lynn as Lynn had been in contact with them explaining her intentions and been invited to talk in person. She was taken aback by the city she was being driven through. It was simple, yet there was a natural beauty of it. Instead of destroying land to make the city, they had built the city into the landscape. It looked like a the future and the Shire had met and mixed somehow. Lynn parted with her escorts and made her way up the high stairs enjoying the walk and the city. She wouldn't mind giving up the war and spending the rest of her life here, but she was here to protect, not to serve herself.

Upon entering the Palace she was given a warm greeting and taken to her chambers where she would spend the night and possibly for the next few day. In her room was a few dresses laid out for her. She took the time to settle into a hot bath and relax for one. The water was soothing to her skin and refreshing to her soul. She sighed as she got comfortable and rested her eyes. This time she did not meditate, but she did rest and enjoyed the silence. She believed the body needed rest and relaxation just as much as the mind and soul. Once she began to prune too much she got out the bath, dried herself off and wrapped a towel around her. She began to do a little bit of makeup work. Nothing too fancy, but she was here to make an impression. She didn't do anything fancy with her hair, but did spend the time drying it and letting it all hang down. Now for the dress, she tried them all on, but settled on a simple sun dress.

She made her way down to the dinner being held and bowed to the Ryanni family which was a king and queen, with two little princes and three little princesses, non had come of age. She immediately saw the love the family shared and felt the warmth and welcomed. She took her place next to one of the little girls, "You look very pretty." Lynn smiled, "So do you, I am Lynn by the way" "Synni." Synni smiled as she gave her name and Lynn turned to the rest of the family, "Thank you for having me on such short notice." Lord Ryanni raised his hand, "No need to thank us, you do so much for our Galaxy it is the least we can do. Though let us have a nice meal before we talk business." Lynn bowed her head in respect and agreeance as the food was brought out.

The dinner was large, yet it seemed all like food you could find commonly, not an overly extravagant meal. Laughs were shared between Lynn and the kids and even by the King and Queen. She enjoyed this meeting and knew even if she left empty handed, it was not a trip wasted. As the dinner finished, The King and Queen left with Lynn to have coffee and dessert as the children were sent off. After they were served, The King began, "Miss. Corerunner, You come seeking the lightsaber that has been in the hands of my family for over a thousand years. I am glad you are a Jedi, but as the previous owner proved, a Jedi does not always make the right choices with such a tool. My ancestors built this city on one principal, peace. My wife and I feel uncomfortable giving our family heirloom to be used to bring fear or pain in the Galaxy."

Lynn nodded, but did not smile. She was not angry or saddened, but serious. "Lord Ryanni,..." He interrupted, " You are our guest, please call us Keagan and Olivia." She nodded, " My apologies Keagan, I assure you that my only intentions are to fight to bring peace. This war, Jedi and Sith, Dark and Light, Father and Son has continued for far too long. I want to bring a true balance, maybe even a world where opposites can exist together. Regardless if they agree with one another. Until that day, I will fight to stop injustice, and to end senseless violence and killing. I cannot convey what I believe, I can only give these words and hope they are enough."

Keagan nodded and leaned back as he thought and Olivia chimed in. "Lynn, we do not question your intentions nor your words. The previous owner believed his ways were right, his ways were that of peace, yet in the end his own Dark Side helped bring about the Empire. What we are saying is that you are young from what we here. Once you enter this war, it could change you, it could break you and what you feel now could change. If that happens then our heirloom goes from a decoration to a tool used to bring about dark and terrible things. We hope you will become what you believe, but it is our fear that we cannot give you the lightsaber." Lynn nodded, she was right. War changes people and she also feared what war would make her so she could not argue with them. She thanked them with hugs and left to retire into her room.

Once she was in her new pajamas she rested her head on her pillow. Sure, she was sad she would not get the lightsaber, but it was the words that bothered her. "Once you enter this war, it could change you, it could break you and what you feel now could change." What would war do to her? Would she remain an idealist? Would she stay on the path or like so many would she fall to the Dark Side? She knew she was not suppose to feel fear, but to deny that even Jedi felt fear. The future was uncertain, nobody could predict this perfectly, it was ever changing. Lynn had to hold onto her ideals even in the midst of darkness. If she could do this, she could seem her ideals flourish. Her eyes grew heavy as sleep finally arrived.

Morning came and Lynn changed back into her Jedi robes that were freshly cleaned. She was given the new clothing as gifts and welcomed them. Jedi were not materialistic, but peace was to accept gifts and kindness to promote it to continue. She hugged Keagan and Oliva once more and gave them some final words. "I respect your choice, but I want you to know I will remain in the light. The love and kindness I have seen here I will spread wherever I go. I may leave without the lightsaber, but I do not leave empty handed. Thank you." She had to hug them both once more and then hugged each kid even the boys who found girls icky. She left the palace with a smile and a light heart.

As she made her way down the steps, her attention was caught by her name, "Lynn!!!" She turned to see the youngest one, Synni. "Miss. Lynn you did it!" She lifted her hand and in it was Mace Windu's lightsaber. Lynn's eyes widened in surprise, had the little girl taken it, "But why?" Synni smiled, "You did not try to use force, you did not take it, and you did not fight my parents when they said no. They are still worried, but they are confident in who you are." Lynn smiled and hugged Synni once again. She took the lightsaber and with Synni's encouragement to try it, she lit the violet blade. It was a master's weapon. Hundreds of years had passed and still it worked. She put it on her hip and smiled as she once again said goodbye. She was dropped off at her ship and smiled, "Ok Arnine, Let's go home."
