ADVANCED SYSTEMS
  • Custom Sienar Systems power plant – built circa 30 BBY
  • Custom Sienar Systems Ion Drive – built circa 30 BBY
  • Custom Sienar Systems Shield suite – built circa 30 BBY
  • Custom Sienar Systems Point Defense system – built circa 30 BBY
  • Aftermarket Droid Brain Processing System utilizing three (3) A100 Series Droid Brains
STRENGTHS
  • Fast and maneuverable– for a ship of its tonnage, the Imperialis moves very quickly in normal space and is able to execute hairpin turns
  • Heavy defenses – The Imperialis boasts an impressive shield system, which can deflect the power of heavy weaponry at a higher rate than most ships of its tonnage, it also has a point defense system made up of a network of micro-laser cannons that are capable of destroying many incoming projectiles such as mines and missiles effectively, but only at limited range
  • Luxurious – no expense was spared when the passenger suites were constructed and as such, living space on board is both roomy and luxurious with each suite containing a full bath/refresher unit, pantry, kitchenette including protein re-sequencer, entertainment unit connected to the local holonet and a large bedroom. Other shipboard amenities include a full medical bay, a vault where valuables can be kept secure and an armory.
WEAKNESSES
  • Maintenance heavy – The Imperialis boasts a number of custom built systems, which under normal circumstances would require intensive maintenance to keep running optimally. Tack on to that the fact that there is no living being alive who remembers exactly how the Imperalis works, and the fact that the ship has spent centuries sitting underground, it takes an extreme level of maintenance to keep the ship running.
  • Old power couplings – the centuries that the ship has spent underground has led to a deterioration in its power distribution system. As such, the ship is prone to sudden short-outs, usually at the worst possible moment. These power fluctuations have been known to affect the ships defenses and propulsion systems, as well as life support – though that is less frequent due to the multiple redundancies built into the life support system
  • Runs too hot - in addition to the power distribution problems listed above, the Imperialis also has a fatal flaw: If too much stress is put on the power reactor, either by pushing the engines to close to their maximum or by having the shields soak up too much incoming fire (or some combination of the two), it can cause an irreparable reactor overload which, in turn, will destroy the ship. In order to reduce the risk of this happening, safeguards have been put into place. These safeguards only allow the ship to run it's shields at their maximum rating (very high) so long as the engines are running at a reduced rating (average instead of high) or vice versa, in order to run the engines as their full rating (high) the shields can only operate under a moderate rating. In addition, in order for the crew to switch between these safeguard programs safely, they must shut down both systems for a period of approximately sixty-seconds.
DESCRIPTION
The Imperialis has been described as “a sleek silvery pleasure yacht with two swept-back wings.” It was custom built around 30 BBY by Raith Sienar for then Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine. The Imperialis was described as “fast, maneuverable and capable of outrunning Imperial Star Destroyers.” It was also “equipped with advanced defensive systems in its wings that were capable of blasting gravity mines.” (OOC: This is where I believe the point defense system outlined above comes from). The ship’s cockpit could seat a pilot and co-pilot. It boasts a medical bay with a full bacta tank, a fully stocked armory, an airlock and docking rig, escape pods and a self-destruct mechanism.

After several years of operation, Beltran finally decided to make significant alterations to the ship, removing much of the luxury amenities and adding a training gym, a meditation chamber, weaponry, and many other components.

  • Changed picture and image source
  • Removal of luxury suites to make space for single fighter hangar
  • Removal of vault to make space for gymnasium
  • Expanded on equipment in medical bay
  • Expanded on equipment in armory/workshop
  • Added droid brain processing system
  • Removed one crew quarters to make room for meditation chamber
  • Increased armament to High and added specific weaponry
  • Added specific components to defenses category

Most of this looks solid and well-thought out. I do need to mention that per the combined Codex/Factory rule #5, we cannot omit parts of the template:

Manufacturer: Republic Sienar Systems (circa 30 BBY) Affiliation: Beltran Rarr
It looks like the "Model" heading is missing here. If you'll add that here between the Manufacturer and Affiliation sections. For the actual info in that field itself, you could put "Imperialis (replica)" or something similar or the ship's name if Beltran renamed it, since this isn't a mass produced starship.

Length: 84 meters Width: 45 meters
If you'll add the "Height" field here too with its estimated height.

If you'll put "Standard Features" just in front of all of this per the template.

In terms of actual gameplay balance, we're one rating too high. We can either lower a rating somewhere, or alternatively, add a significant gameplay weakness to finish balancing this out.

Okay, I believe I've corrected the formatting issues you've mentioned.

In regards to this I've added another, more extreme, flaw under the heading "Runs too hot." Please let me know if that is a significant enough weakness to allow for the ratings to remain as they are.

[member="Beltran Rarr"], typically for such weaknesses to compensate for a rating, it has to have an immediate, practical impact on the ship's performance. The issue with the "runs too hot" as it currently is that it won't likely come into play in most roleplays. But, I think that we can work the general concept you wrote there into something that works.

What if for "runs too hot", the ship can have either is maximum speed rating or its maximum shield rating, but not both at the same time? (This can written like the strain on the system is too much for the ship to handle, or something like that).

Sounds fair to me. I've made the appropriate addition to the "runs too hot" heading and added a mandatory sixty second lag time between switching between full shields and full engines. Hopefully that balances everything out.
