The Jedi Covenant
Founded upon the bones of the former New Jedi Order, the Jedi Covenant is all that remains. Following the destruction of the Galactic Alliance at the hands of Grand Master Taeli Raaf, the surviving Jedi became nearly outlawed in the Galactic Alliance Remnant. At a loss of their own starships, and down to the barebones of supplies, the Jedi Covenant followed the Alliance to the Elrood Sector. Working without a semblance of the Order that once housed them, the Covenant are reminiscent of the Jedi who avoided the Galactic Empire of legends. Its common to see a Jedi in Elrood dressing as a spacer, with a pistol in one hand, and a lightsaber in the other.
Built of different Jedi, so many have their own goals, but one thing remains. They are protecting the governments from the shadows. The Alliance Remnant, settled within the Outer Rim Coalition, are where the Jedi see their role. Protecting the worlds, assisting the governments, and working hand in hand with the Judges. No longer the crusaders they were once before, the Covenant are built up of primarily two groups of Jedi. The Watchmen are the Jedi who most closely embody the tenants of the former New Jedi Order, some enlisting, others finding their way onto the battlefield to benefit the Alliance Remnant and Coalition forces. Others are the Ronin, Jedi who remain loyal to the tenants of the Jedi but take matters into their own hands, working as vigilantes and supporting the cause in their own way.
