The Journals of Etorre Agnusdei, M.D. - VIII

After leaving the One Sith I have found myself in need of assistants of sorts. My departure was rather... sudden. My laboratory was left behind, but my journals and work - and everything of use to me - was brought with me. The lab itself I left... in shambles. I am not unaccustomed to the workings of such menial things as thermal detonators.

My laboratory is rebuilt here, in the Tion realm of space. The relatively reclusive location bodes poorly for test subjects, but I am able to make do with what I have available. What I do not have, however, are the appropriate aides, assistants, and staff needed to conduct the more... dangerous research needed.

I have a select few aides that aid me in the more complex tasks I am faced with. However, in my experience, the more dangerous the task, the more likely there will be... fatalities among those attempting it. This may require some effort and research on my part...

In light of the lack of material, I have determined that perhaps I am searching too hard for adept staff. Perhaps I can augment what I have available to complete the tasks needed.

I have reviewed the current lists of test subjects. Mostly human males and females with an average age ranging from their low twenties to mid forties. I will take the healthier, younger subjects for my tests. Perhaps I can augment them in some way or form to perform as needed.

Imagine. Just imagine. A way to augment creatures beyond their biological abilities. To make a being smarter or faster or stronger. The Vong accomplish this, but through something they call "shaping." A tinkering of genetics that passes down the familial lines. This... This is to do so in a single motion. To rewire the DNA in a single gesture that will resonate throughout the very being of all it touches.

My work begins now...
