Faction The Joys of Bureaucracy [AC]

His father had given him a mission, and not of the sort he'd been expecting.

Lothaire thought that the good Kaiser might send him to lead an expedition in the south, orchestrate a raid into Maw space, or something else with teeth. Such assignments were befitting of a prince of the Kaiserreich, and yet he'd been given an altogether toothless task.

Apparently, the Ashlan patriarch had managed to get his hands on a living Sith Pureblood, and more interestingly, this pureblood had sworn fealty to the Grayson household. A strange affair on its own given the quiet persecution those of purer Sith blood faced at the hands of the Ashlan population. The leadership of the nation never condoned such barbarity, but it never openly condemned it either. To bring one into the Kaiser's personal circle now would be controversial, to teach him the ways of the Ashlan faith another controversy in the making. That his father had bidden Lothaire to do just that was a matter of curiosity and annoyance for the youth.

Uncertain where to even begin with the creature, and harboring his own private prejudices, Lothaire reached out to the priesthood. There was no particular reasoning for Lothaire picking Sister Mariana for the task other than random chance. Lothaire didn't know enough to educate nor had the desire to do the task himself: Sister Mariana was the unfortunate victim of his laziness.

So it was that Sister Mariana and The Praetorian The Praetorian were summoned to meet Lothaire in the park outside the Grand Jedi Temple of Ession. The bastard-prince was clad in his usual regal purple and was seated on a bench beneath the shade of the trees, a full view of the road leading to the temple arrayed before him. He busied himself with reading reports on his datapad, awaiting the two unfortunate souls placed under his purview.

"Awaken yourself to stranger realities than you ever could have comprehended. Only then will the mire of prejudice and discontent give way to understanding." Kyrus' eyes danced across the aged tome with an engaging expression. He found the words of this particular work to be rather interesting given the circumstances that surrounded him. In fact, he could not help but chuckle a bit at the irony that was set out before him. His minor amusement aside, he closed the pages of the book and tucked it into a small leather satchel that hung beneath his robes. The regalia for his station had certainly taken some getting used to. His days in the Sith Empire had consisted of a great deal of blacks and crimsons, to where they completely lost their flavor. As Cedric's Kingsguard he took on a flowing cloak of champagne that glinted from off-white to gold. It was balanced by a subdued amethyst that ran over the shoulders and across the stitching of the tunic.

He continued down the path he had set on. Since his induction into the Kingsguard he had spent much of his time at the Jedi temple on Ession. Of course, there had been more than a few cross looks, but they did not bother him. He was an enigma perhaps never seen in the galaxy and never to be seen again, could he blame these men for their apprehension?

The shadowy halls gave way to fresh light gazing down at the Pureblood and his sunburnt eyes turned to the open skies above him.

"Marvelous." As was becoming habit, he remarked at the natural beauty of Ession before continuing down the road.

He had never met Cedric's son, Lothaire, and knew very little of him. Even the Kaiser seemed content to let Kyrus make his own judgements of his son. So, as he approached the man lounging in the shaded area, he was very interested to find out just what kind of man he would be.

"My Prince." He bowed his head in greeting before falling to a knee before him, a single hand clasped behind his back while the second rested over his heart.

"I am Kyrus Jayara. Your Lord-Father has commanded that I report to you this day. It is an honor."
