The Spacepiress of Chaos
"There were those that came before us. Those that looked up the galaxy and knew that change needed to be made. We called ourselves Templars once; they though, they called themselves the Knights of Kal'Shebbol..."
Stars above, twinkling brightly, shimmering and shining in the void of darkness. A flash, bright and brilliant for only a moment and from it a simple vessel, a corvette dropping from hyperspace. It stood alone, none others following behind it as it moved towards the world of Kal'Shebbol. Golden hues fell upon the world, the woman standing silently with her arms behind her back. Watching carefully for signs of any other vessels on an intercept course; a delay that she would rather not deal with in that moment. Remaining silent, she kept her attention focused upon the world before her, the bridge dim and darkened as the crew continued about its duties. A datapad found its way into her grasp, the woman's attention shifting for a moment as she scrolled through the information. A soft smirk crossing her lips as she looked back upon the world.
"Ma'am, we've found it."
"Are we sure of the location?"
"Yes ma'am. Its a fortress in the mountains away from any local towns or cities. It appears that a conflict happened near it at some time."
A soft nod was the only confirmation of the information as she looked towards the world again, watching it closely as if she were expecting it to move. Slowly she would turn upon her hind foot, pivoting in place before passing the datapad along to another. A soft nod as she stepped away and handed the bridge over to another crewmen.
"Prepare a shuttle and a detachment of Knights. I'm going down there."
"Yes Ma'am."
The shuttle ride alone seemed to take longer than it should; though it could have merely been her mind playing tricks upon her. She stood in the cockpit as the pilots carefully guided the small shuttle down to the world, the group of Knights waiting in the back. Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes as they cut through the atmosphere, still waiting for something to go wrong.
As the shuttle shook and shuddered for a moment her eyes shot open just in time to see it, the fortress covered in snow and the scars of battle.
"There. Bring us down in the upper courtyard."
"Yes Ma'am."
The woman straightened up for a moment as she looked over the fortress, admiring its beauty as they shuttle took a quick fly by and circled from above. A few more moments and it shook with a thud as it came to a stop. A loud hiss marked the lowering of the boarding ramp. Pulling her helm on, she stepped forward, her hand coming up and covering her eyes as she hissed slightly.
"Damn sun."
"Ma'am?"
"Its nothing."
She responded before stepping down the ramp, her boot crunching softly into the snow at her feet. For a moment it seemed like everything went blank, as if she was standing there in a different time. She could hear the clashing of practice sticks, the shouting and yelling as those of the fortress trained. Then it was the smoke and ash that filled her senses, the fall of the fortress, or its stand against something. Whatever happened here was so long ago, though it was clear that the inhabitants put up a fight.
Stepping forward, she squat down, her hands slowly pulling up an old helm from the snow, brushing off the dirt and grim. Her eyes studied the helm, looking over its symbols and markings. A soft smirk crossing her lips as she lain the helm back where it had been resting.
"This is the place. The fortress of the Knights of Kal'Shebbol. Our progenitors."
