The Last Raxis Expedition: Treasure hunt

There was no glory, no fields of trumpets. She died, right there on the floor as the saber sliced through flesh and bone with ease. The head separated from the body and listless eyes gazed as it rolled across the floor, coming to a stop against the side of a random pipe. There may have been an echo in the force, or perhaps not.
Vassara Raxis, she whom had moved mountains against the darkness. Whom had crusaded beside all manner of factions and Rebels to cleanse the darkness from the galaxy, had fallen in her final moments.
Vassara Raxis,
She was dead....

Vassara's body and belonging had been recovered by the Agents of the Underground. She had fallen in battle on the Station within the Denarii asteroids, giving her comrades time to destroy the files that remained aboard the station and protect the identities and bases of the Underground.
The gear of the fallen warrior was scattered to the favorite haunts and significant locations of her youth. Whomever could find it could have it. There was only a single codex circulated about, listing items and where they might be found. First it flowed to the Underground and out through the lightside organizations. Should any aspiring hunters or Archivists wish to take it, they'd have to work hard to find it.
Jorus Merill Received the Void Runner as per her instruction in a letter written to him earlier.
Rules:
1. Each piece has clues attached to it. From hardest to easiest. Some of it is mundane and will be easier to find. Others are much harder.
2. Once you think that's where it's at fly to the location and explore it. You'll have to do better than just one or two posts though, Guardians and monsters await in each location.
3. Treasure hunters may duel over the gear if they wish. No one should go unopposed in their quest for it, either by NPC or PC or natural Phenomena.
4. My ghost will appear with the hand of god if there is any dickery.

The Codex by some stroke of fate has fallen into your hands. It reads the following.

Gray had found some odd things pop up on his dad's old datapad. His dad had always kept up with what was going on with Mandalorians, and all of that was on his datapad. Gray had been idly looking through it and run across this mystery treasure hunt for someone named [member="Vassara Raxis"] old belongings. There was a list and some clues, but not much else. He would need to start trying to figure out what this was all about. It seemed like a ton of fun and might bring some light to his father's mysterious past.

Gray had settled on trying to locate the ship first. He was in desperate need of one right now, and this seemed like a better solution than trying to save up to buy a new one or just out right stealing one. Maintaining his armor and weapon cost his more than he liked it to and there wasn't much work for him to find at the moment. He didn't like the idea of stealing anyone's ship either because if they were not the scum of the galaxy they didn't deserve it and if they were then they were sure to go out of their way just to seek some pointless form of revenge.

Gray had found a reference to the Chiss is mentioned in the hint, but it was proving hard for him to find any solid starting location for where this Raxis woman could have meet him. He just wasn't having any luck on the ship front, but had somehow stumbled upon the location of one of the other items on the list. Oh joy, he found what he didn't need as usual... well he could use the item actually, but he would need that ship first if he wanted to go after that item.

Gray had been at it for days looking through all of the files on his dad's old datapad and he couldn't help but scream with joy when he found what he had been looking for. He hadn't gotten any sleep and had the files all just passing by slowly as he blankly stared at them. His eyes had finally shut and he was focused on the woman and the chiss when he suddenly felt this weird urge to look at the datapad. When his eyes did open, there was the file he needed so badly to find. He read through it and marked down the location he had to go to.

Gray had to hunt someone down, but he eventually found someone who could take him to Annaj to hunt down that ship. He loaded himself down with his armor, his blaster pistol, and five thermal detonators. He wasn't sure if he needed the explosives, but he had a feeling they might come in handy. He looked over all of the data he had been going through for days. He had discovered the possible locations to not just the ship, but five other items as well. He wasn't sure why his dad had so much info on this Vassara Raxis, but it was paying off for him now.

OOC: Took me long enough but I think I finally got everything I will need to find these items. Lets hope I survive this!

If grey was headed for Annaj that was good. However that was a dead end. He would easily find the place, and explore it with ease. The Captain of the Vessel that brought him there was a good fellow and since Gray tipped well, he offered to bring him anywhere else for free.

However he did find a Clue there. A file in the database of the old Lords of the Fringe Capitol. It spoke of an Archive on Voss that might have the answer. The Archive would reveal some of the clues Gray needed, if he went and searched it.

Gray might not have found the ship, but it seems he did find a clue to his first target. If he wanted to find the ship he would need to head to Voss. He wasn't very familiar with the place, but that had never really stopped him before. He might be a mercenary by trade, but he could feel a call to exploration in his bones at times. It had gotten him into trouble before, but hopefully not this time around.

Gray was grateful the pilot was willing to take him to Voss for free. His funds were not extensive or limitless like a certain man he knew of. A man who's initials were JJ and who may or may not have thought about putting a bounty on his head on drunken night. He was on his way to Voss to hunt down whatever clue it was that was there for him on the planet. He would talk to who ever he needed to and search through whatever he came across.

OOC: I forgot to mention, but I was going to try to go for the Thundergun if that is alright. Not a big deal though seeing how I'm already after 2 things.

[member="Gray Watcher"]

OOC: Keep it to your items.

Voss was fun, where would he go? What would he do? The world was a Jedi Sanctuary with many, many archives. Gray would have to search notable space stations, and perhaps the Chiss himself to find what he was looking for. Then again that could be a dead end too.

A second option was to go to Mandalore and ask some folks whom had worked on the vessel if they could trace it's whereabouts, the ports that it had been registered too. After all all ships registered at port. Then again this could be a dead end too. It was Grays choice.

[member="Vassara Raxis"]

Gray had gotten to Voss, but he didn't like the overwhelming amount of time it would take just to try to find the right file. That was one thing he always happened about hunting down files, if the database was big enough it was like trying to find a needle in a haystack by plucking a few straws at a time. He decided the best option was to head to Mandalore and seek out the people who worked on the vessel. He had always found that ship workers seemed to remember things that files did not.

Gray went around and finally found someone who would take him to Mandalore. He paid the man for the trip and found himself heading out to the planet. This was going to be his first time on the home world of his father's people, his people. He wondered if Vassara had ever been to the planet herself... but then thought that was obvious. Why would she not have been there? He just hoped he found a clue there and didn't need to come back to Voss and look through all of the files one by one.

Gray caught a lucky break. Vassara had docked the ship several times in the space stations around Mandalore. The last files of registry that were there was an Unknown location that was redacted. That was a secret Gray would never know. But there were other locations it had been registered too.

One kept coming up over and over again and the tech gave him a look and then nodded to his small terminal he was working off of.

"If I remember right this station is a Pirate station only. Very Obscure and out near the rim. The Only Pirate space station that even exists."

[member="Vassara Raxis"]

Gray had lucked out it seems and gotten a clue about where to go next. He had to think on this one a bit though. A space station for pirates only.... That sounded familiar to him, but he couldn't bring up why it did. He thanked the tech and walked off to think over the news. He grew up in space, but he wasn't as familiar with the different places in it as he would have liked to be. With that said, the hint was for a very unique place. He finally realized where it was he needed to go now after several minutes of aimless wandering as he thought.

Gray went about to try and find a way to get to Tortuga Station. He wasn't sure how easy that was going to be seeing how the place was literally nothing but pirates. Maybe he could "convince" some to take him there with him? He figured that could work, but he needed to find some pirates to do that. Good thing pirates were all over the place with all of the armed conflict going on between the different governments in the galaxy. Off he went in hunt of a pirate to take him to Tortuga Station.

[member="Gray Watcher"]

Gray found his pirate very easily. The man was easy to pay off. He arrived at the station. Certainly the ships was around here somewhere. Maybe a hidden dock? Maybe a junkyard? This was the final test, he'd have to search the place to find the ship.

[member="Vassara Raxis"]

Gray had made it to the station. He didn't expect it to have been that easy, which worried him about what was to come next. He never did find life to go easy on him, and so he didn't think it would change that habit around now. He was in unfamiliar territory now with plenty of hostile people around. He had probably even shot a few of the people here due to his jobs tending to find him dealing with pirates. He figured he would avoid mentioning that at all costs. He didn't need to die just yet, and preferably not by the hands of a pirate.

Gray figured the best way to start looking was to go to a tavern, hang around for a while, and hear what you can hear. He went to the nearest tavern and sat down at the bar. He ordered a drink for himself as he took off his helmet. He set it onto the counter right in front of him and just began to pay attention to what people were saying. Someone was bound to get drunk enough that his tongue would become pretty loose, and then Gray could try to pry out the info he needed without too much resistance.

[member="Vassara Raxis"]

Gray heard what he expected to hear. Plenty of pirates talking about the scores they had made recently. How many people they had killed. How many women/men they had taken to bed. Even one guy claiming he was a Darth Vader himself. It was the same kind of chatter you heard at mercenary bars, only there instead of scores it was jobs they had taken. Gray just drank on his drink slowly to avoid getting too much in his system as all of this chatter went around like locust through a wheat field. He eventually heard mention of a secret dock hidden as a junkyard on somewhere on the station. He smiled a bit as he set his nearly empty drink onto the bar and picked up his helmet. He held it on his left side, leaving his right hand free to draw if need be, and went over to the pirate.

Gray said with a smile on his face, " So a secret dock hidden as a junkyard? I've been hearing some pretty crazy stuff going around tonight, but that is even less likely than the guy who claims to be Darth Vader over there. Who would believe such a lie? I would bet 100 credits that you are just blowing hot air." He hoped his little gambit worked, but there was always plan B if it didn't.

[member="Gray Watcher"]

Hopefully they'd spill the location of the secret dock, as that was where the Freighter was hidden. A Prize in the collection? Hardly, to the Pirates it was junk. None of them recognized the registration.

[member="Vassara Raxis"]

Gray was pleased when the pirate took the bait and went for the credits offered for the location. He wasn't just told where to go, the pirate actually took him right to the place in question. This was turning out well for Gray right now. He had just gotten to the place when the pirate finally passed out from drinking too much and then walking afterwards. Gray put the credits he owed into the pirate's pocket and walked into the junkyard. He looked around for the place as he hunted down a ship that fit the description of the one he was after.

" Oh where oh where has my little ship gone? Oh where oh where could it be?" Gray kind of half sang as he looked around. He finally found a ship that fit the description and checked it out. It seemed to be the right one, but he couldn't be sure until he got on it. He looked for the pad that would lower the ramp for him so he could board it. When he found it, his put his helmet back on his head and pulled out his blaster pistol. He got it ready to shoot as he pressed the button to lower the ramp into the cargo hold and used the side of the ship as cover. Knowing pirates, there could be any kind of booby trap set up or anyone in there.

It seemed a horde of angry Jawa's had taken up residence inside the Freighter. They were immigrants and working in the salvage yard. Mad with rage they charge you, opening fire with big stun lasers and stabbing with tiny Jawa knives.

[member="Vassara Raxis"]

Gray was a little stunned to see that he was dealing with Jawas. He knew you couldn't trust the little buggers!!! He actually kind of liked them since they always seemed to be friendly, well until now. He switched his pistol into stun mod and began taking shot at all of them. He aimed for the ones charging in with their knives first before switching to the ones with the rifles. He had cover, so he wasn't so worried about the rifle shots hitting him. Plus he was wearing armor which could protect him from a shot or two, and Jawas were not exactly known for being fighters. He figured if he stunned enough of them then they would either all be knocked out or give up. There was just no way he could bring himself to kill the adorable little things.

Gray said as he kept shooting stun bolts at them, " Look, just lay down your weapons please. Stun shots still hurt even if they won't kill you, and I really don't want to hurt you. Maybe we could even work out a deal?"

[member="Gray Watcher"]

The Jawas were little Pirate savages. They would fight to the death, rolling their only two thermal detonators down the ramp and roaring.

"Oootini!"

Gray would have to slay them all if he wanted the ship.

[member="Vassara Raxis"]

Gray just sighed as he saw the thermal detonators beginning to roll down the ramp. He quickly rushed over to them both and picked them up. He tossed them into the ship right by the Jawas before they exploded in his hand and began to back peddle away from the ship. He knew better than to run into an explosion in a contained space. He switched his blaster back to bolt mode and began taking more shots at Jawas. They might have been adorable little Jawas, but they were not his kind of adorable little Jawas.

Gray didn't hold back as explosions ensued. He just sat there listening to the screams of dying and charging Jawas as he mercilessly slaughtered them. The last of them alive finally made it to Gray with its little knife, only for Gray to punt the thing back into the cargo bay. He charged up his pistol and took a short charge shot at the Jawa, watching it go spiraling even farther into the hold after it had just gotten back to its feet. He just stood there waiting to see if any of the little things would make a sound or come after him. When he was satisfied they were all dead, he holstered his blaster pistol.

Gray said, " Well that was unfortunate and a little unusual. Better get rid of all of these Jawa bodies before I figure out how I'm going to keep from crashing this ship when I leave." He did just that and began to remove all of the dead Jawas he could find. He made sure to keep their big stun lasers and any left over thermal detonators that were left as well. He could make a little profit off of them later.
