The Law of the Land (Malin Spritejägare)

Having arrived just hours ago, Elanna stalked Coronet's streets. She needed to find her target, get his datapad and get out before the authorities knew anything. Not the easiest of tasks, but a client wanted it, so she needed to get it. A new weapon, she thought to herself. That's my reward here. But she was still thinking back to something she had heard. a distraction form her work. A news report from Bothuwai stating that the Ex-viceroy, her father, was now dead from an assassination. She didn't know what to think. He was gone. she had wished often, sure, but now that he was dead...

Shaking her head, she focused on the mission. Get the info, get out. Avoid the law in casesomeone had given them a tip-off.

Well, there was one obligation down. Spritejägare ID'd the reckless driver and entered their name into the system before printing out a paper 'souvenir'. And with that, Miss CorSec had just fulfilled this month's quota of traffic violation fines.

Sliding back into her squad speeder, Lieutenant Spritejägare took a moment to just douse in the sounds of police comm reports. Nothing incredibly exciting going on right now, but give it time. There were reports of gray activity around the sector she was patrolling tonight. It was something to keep an eye out for, but it did not sound incredibly alarming. Might as well just cruise a little.

Spritejägare waited for her most recent speed trap victim to get back on the move before she put her craft in gear. With weary green eyes peeled, she took a drive around the block and hoped she would be in the right place at the right time.

Moving quickly through the street, Elanna noticed the squad car before the driver would have a line of sight. Well, crap. That probably meant one of two things: They were after her, or her species, and the reputation of her father, would get her in trouble. Protectorate war and all that. Fun stuff until it hurt her. Either way, she needed to be ready. Ducking down an alleyway, she began to go over her alibi in her head. I'm a refugee from Drunkenwell after the CIS destroyed my home. An easy enough lie, especially for someone who had spent their life lying. she walked deeper into the area, not caring that the light was dimming. She was at home in the dark.

A shadow briefly went through an array of transformations against the wall of a building as the vehicle's headlights flooded the periphery. Then it disappeared in haste. Typical. Spritejägare was not entirely concerned and imagined there was little cause for alarm. Vandals were nothing new to her. But it would not hurt to just check.

Pulling the speeder up to the mouth of the dark alley, the CorSec officer peered into the depths and waited to see if there would be any movement. If they knew what was best for them, they would stay hidden and neglect to return and try their hand at whatever deed they intended on commiting.

After a few moments idling, Spritejägare determined that all was clear for now and readied to shift into reverse and continue her beat.
