The Legacy of The Empire

Space, it was empty and cold for millions of miles. The slight twinkle of a star, the only sight to break up the black background. Down below was different, it wasn't space. Space was vast and open, not bright like the planet below. Lwhekk, a planet in the unexplored region, home to many strange species. Yet, that wasn't why the fleet of cruisers had gathered in the orbit of the planet. Each cruiser, most of them Victory II Class Star Destroyers. A few cruisers and frigates mixed in the lines of said cruisers. At the front of this line, a Victory I Class Star Destroyer.

"Bring High General Mike to the bridge. Raise Grand Admiral Kerkov on the com."

Known to those in The Sovereign Imperial State as "The Bridge of Thrawn", the Victory I Class Star Destroyer held ground. On the bridge, Grand Admiral Jayden Sanders stood with his arms crossed behind his back, eyes fixed on two asteroids dead ahead. Asteroid Base Alpha, home of The Sovereign Imperial State. Two deck officers would step aside, off to complete the task set. The cruisers would all march forward, each and every single cruiser keeping formation.

"Prepare my shuttle"

A cough, another deck officer heading off to complete his task. The Grand Admiral hadn't seen Asteroid Base Alpha since it's design phase, he'd left Grand Admiral William Kerkov to finalize it. Jayden Sanders crossed his arms again, this time in front of him. High General Mike was an old clone, having served in the Clone Wars and The Empire before being frozen in cryogenics sleep for eight hundred years. He'd been serving aboard "The Bridge of Thrawn" since the cruiser had set off into the unexplored territories with little hope of finding anything. Grand Admiral Sanders was upset to say that they'd found nothing at all.

"We are home"

He knew his orders well, drilled into him by his supervisor during the exploration out into the unknown regions. The training grounds were in the asteroid, thus he'd never once visited them. Scorpius Riley stood, arms crossed, blaster held at a diagonal across his body like every single trooper in the corridor. The Grand Admiral wanted his shuttle prepared, and Scorpius knew the path that the Grand Admiral would take.

The helmet was heavy, hot. Yet, like the perfect trooper, he waited. He knew that his training would come as soon as "The Bridge of Thrawn" docked with the asteroid. Until then, he would wait like the perfect trooper. His informal training with the rest of "The Bridge of Thrawn" recruits was one thing, but the proper training would be something else, it would be great and powerful and fill him with the power he deserved.

He knew that the asteroid wasn't completed. It was close, but it wasn't completed. The final gun turrets were being placed and the innards of the two asteroids being finally completed. Yet, it was close. The base was fully operational, fully stored and ready for an invasion should one come. Until that day, the base would hold as the perfect hiding place for The Sovereign Imperial State until they were ready to show themselves to the galaxy.
