The Library [Open To All]

Ayla sat at the desk studying a book of various floras of Kashyyyk, despite having spent most of her life here Ayla still found the natural beauty of Kashyyyks forest diversity incredibly fascinating but what amazed Ayla even further was the diversity of all life within the Galaxy.

Her adventures had taken her to a vast variety of planets, yet she felt like Kashyyyk was filled with wonders yet to be discovered, certainly something that could not just be discovered in a book.

As Ayla shut the book and looked up she noticed several others in the library....

Cassius was leaning over a table not too far away, muttering incessantly to himself. “No… not that one…” he pulled out yet another data-disk and put it on the ever-growing pile of disks to his left, while taking another disk from a dwindling pile to his right and inserting that one into his datapad. “No… that one’s just mislabeled…” he hissed, discarding that disk as well.

The search seemed almost futile, at this point. There was a specific time in Kashyyyk’s history that he wanted to research, but since the pre-hyperspace Wookiees didn’t exactly digitize their histories, information was all over the place, and historians struggled to fully research that far back, since it usually meant having to become part of a Wookiee clan. Most of the data disks were either out of order to just completely missing huge chunks of time – the Silver Jedi Order’s move from Voss must have scrambled up the records worse than he thought.

Pulling himself out of his tunnel vision, he looked over to a young woman sitting at a nearby table. “Hey,” he said, hoping to get her attention. “Do you know if there are any more comprehensive histories on Kashyyyk? I’m not having a lot of luck here.” Maybe he was looking in the wrong section.

Although Jessica seldom went to the library these days, it was here that she had a chance to catch up with the latest in Force-scholarship. Such as how Memory Rub could apparently be approached by light-sided means, but the only known light-sided Memory Rub user, Yonlach, largely faded from history. The findings were most troubling: even though, back then, there wasn't nearly as much knowledge of what made Memory Rub more or less effective, and when, it means that she was, in fact, sitting on the motherlode and that she never found out that it was one. However, the Fundamental Inequality was actually a ceiling on how fast one could infuse knowledge with the dark without inducing undue pain; here the level of trust was placing another constraint for light-sided use. But she doesn't feel it's right to ask a Jedi newcomer to take part in an experiment to this end without first trying to at least get on her good side. Janick... there truly is no one else I know about, if only by name, that would even use that poodoo to infuse knowledge! But I suspect the dark is more efficient to infuse knowledge than the light, Jessica thought, while seeing [member="Cassius Droma"].

"I'm Jessica. If you need additional Force-knowledge, feel free to ask me about it" she greeted [member="Ayla"] as she came in front of her.

Studying was so boring! It was tremendously boring. Just reading the book in front of her, Kat could feel her mind turning into mush and becoming ever so slightly more tired by the minute. Sadly, she was forcing herself to read these old tomes on Ataru, it was a style she needed to learn as she wanted to know if she could master it. So far she was getting by with her Echani training and some improvisation. It wouldn't carry her that much longer however, she needed to learn the basics of the Lightsaber Form. Especially if she wanted to get her own Lightsaber.

This idea was somewhat mixed in her mind. An actual Lightsaber would be great and she feel like a real Jedi but what would she do with her father's Force Staff. It was a complicated matter that Kat needed to figure out. However, for now she needed to focus on her reading. Her eyes boring into the texts but she just couldn't make sense of it all. The holovids were good and she watched those but she was hoping to gleam some more knowledge from the texts. That was her reasoning here. Being Echani, she wanted to know everything about the combat form.

Not far from her, Kat noticed couple of people crowding someone she hadn't seen before. It must feel intimidating being crowded by strangers. Kat shook her head and continued to stare at the book. She might greet herself later.

"Unfortunately not, you would have to ask the librarian or one of the younglings sorting the records to assist there, I mostly focus on botany." Ayla stated to the Jedi Knight who was before her, his name escaped her at the time, Cass something or other, she had heard of him around the temple.

As Ayla was leaving the library one of the masters stopped her, advising that she could turn to her should she need any further training to which Ayla thanked the master and moved on.

Ayla has now left the library.
