STRENGTHS
- Imbued with a modified corpse vision spell that bolsters the wielder with authentic Force visions of the dead they've left behind — e.g. the user's lineage of teachers or progenitors going back generations.
- Nimble and highly maneuverable.
- Unsurpassed toughness.
- Vibroblade functionality.
- Excellent edge geometry for slicing, even without the vibroblade functionality.
- Keen, sturdy, double-edged point suitable for piercing.
- Normal weight for a blade of its size, unlike a classic Sith blade.
- Will pierce or slice through most flexible armors, underlays, etc. A strong choice for exploiting gaps in armor plates or sliding into them at an angle.
- Blade ritually ground with Svolten rhyolite, ensuring it will never dull.
- Easily concealable.
- Classic Krath aesthetics.
WEAKNESSES
- Lightning or EMP damage will burn out the vibroblade functionality.
- Conducts electricity, instead of absorbing/discharging like a classic Sith blade.
- Reach disadvantage against a lightsaber or comparable weapon.
- Force suppression/nullification (e.g. ysalamiri) will prevent or end the vision effect.
- If the user's past has no bolstering, strengthening figures who've passed on, the spell has no effect or might generate visions of those they've hated.
DESCRIPTION
The blacksmith Azel Moran forged these three identical short swords in the early 870s with assistance from senior students aboard the Pomojema.
The blades are alchemised high-end durasteel with a piercing point and a keen grind. Nimble but substantial, these swords are suitable for self-defense, close-quarters fighting, or assassination. In the right hands they could also play a primary or supporting role in a duel.
Drawing and using one of these swords invokes a modified classic Sith spell: 'corpse vision.' The user experiences genuine Force visions of the dead who might inspire or bolster them — teachers, mentors, parents, friends. Or the user might get visions of those they've hated, which has its uses too. Frankly, for most Darksiders, it's not an either/or.
