“Don’t you know who my relatives are?”
Events being referenced are here
The bailiff led a young man dressed in orange and chains through the aisle to the front of the courtroom. At the front were two tables. One for the defence and one for prosecution. With the bailiff's hand firmly gripping Brodan's slouching shoulder, he offered no resistance as he was led to the defendants desk.
Brodan kept his gaze down, not showing any emotion whatsoever. In his mind, he was outraged. The death of the insurrectionist "Alro Doreen" was a bloody service to the empire and he should be getting a medal for it. But instead, the damn wookie that had saved his life had inexplicably reported Brodan as a murderer. Damn wookies shouldn't be trusted anyways…
Brodan was also irritated at the public nature of this trial. His lawyer and cousin, Severus Dobson , had explained that this trial was being used as a political move by the Elysium Empire, to show the modest people of Culroon III that the Empire was fair and just. It was being hosted on the aforementioned world and an outsider was brought in to preside over the trial as an unbiased judge. Brodan knew very little about this judge, a woman named Kimiko Taiyou .
The prosecution lawyer was none other than Cruk Tuk the Geonocian. Brodan knew little about the little bug other than that he was a capable businessman, a Force in diplomacy, and a good warrior. It made Brodan nervous to think about the prospects of a Dobson being brought down by a bug. Wasn't Cruk a friend of his Uncle Arken? Maybe Arken pulled some strings here? Brodan doubted it. Uncle Arken never really liked Brodan, he could tell.
He and the bailiff were the first to arrive of course. He sat and waited for everyone else to get there.
