Strengths​

Agile - While more than capable of standing its ground with similarly sized vessels - letting its armaments and heavy defenses do the work - the Lionhearted is still just as Agile as other Songbird II-class vessels. A force to be reckoned with in the hands of a skillful pilot, it can keep up with and outpace many other Corvettes and Light Cruisers that it may find itself paired off against in conflict.

Astromech Slots - Carried over from the original Songbird II design, the Lionhearted retains its unique Astromech Slots, which allow for Astromechs to be secured in place - more so often utilized when the vessel is traveling through all three axes in space and the crew would rather not be ganked in the head by an Astromech that had been thrown or dislodged from its position.

Droid Brains - The Lionhearted is equipped with multiple Droid Brains that ease the burden of maintaining multiple systems. This, in turn, means that the vessel itself can be crewed by a smaller number of personnel than the standard Songbird II-class Yacht.

AR-0B Damage Reduction Armor Component - Maintained from the stock Songbird II design, the Lionhearted is equipped with a specialized armor component - which maintains an ablative current that courses through the plating of the vessel. This assists in removing and reduce harmful debris from the hull of the vessel, while also prolonging the longevity of the armor plating and hull plating of the vessel.

GalaxyGuard Mark VII - Commonplace in many vessels manufactured by Von Sorenn Industries - this component provides additional endurance and range to the vessel's Deflector Shield Generator, thus increasing the shield's defensive capabilities.

Electronic Countermeasure Suites - Equipped with two powerful ECM Suites - one of which was present on the Death Star - they assist in scrambling sensors, scanners, and similar systems used to detect or otherwise achieve weapons lock on the vessel in the case of homing based weaponry.

Dauntless Command - The bulk of the vessel has been entirely retrofitted and outfitted to maintain a small garrison of Dauntless Commandos - provided with all the trappings and material support that they may need in the field; including, An EVE Training Room, Armory, Workshops, and a number of additional amenities.

Modularity - The Lionhearted, much like the stock Songbird II-class vessel - despite its already extensive modifications - still maintains the capability of being further modified with additional third-party or aftermarket features, allowing the vessel to be even more eccentric or unique as its owner deems.

Weaknesses​

Exposed Bridge - Located at the top of the vessel just above the Observation Deck, the bridge itself is much more vulnerable than other systems of the vessel itself. This provides an easy target to focus upon, with the removal of the bridge resulting in the vessel becoming uncontrollable.

Aft Hanger Bay - The Lionhearted is capable of supporting additional Squadrons beyond the capabilities of the stock Songbird II-class, however, its hanger bay remains in the safe aft location as on the stock model. This requires that Tractor Beam Projectors be utilized to safely launch and retrieve Starfighters and Support Vessels.

Retractable Landing Gears - Due in part to its smaller size - the Lionhearted is capable of landing in atmospheric conditions utilizing a series of retractable landing gears. This system though presents its own problem in which the vessel can be rendered incapable of landing or lifting off in the case of the gears themselves being damaged.

Semi-Open Floorplan - While not an outward weaknesses that would be well known - the majority of the vessel's interior maintains an open floorplan. This excludes a handful of rooms - such as Crew Quarters, Conference Rooms, and similar rooms that can be properly sealed to ensure privacy or security.

Droid Brains - While the Lionhearted is equipped with multiple Droid Brains - there is a downside to this technology. Provided that the vessel is heavily targeted by ION or EMP based weaponry, the Droid Brains would be effectively knocked out or otherwise damaged beyond repair. In this event, multiple internal and external systems would suffer from having lost the primary components that control, maintain, and utilize those systems. I.E. - Without the Gunner Droid Brain, multiple weapon systems would cease to function.

Minimal Crew - Due in part to the installation of the Droid Brains, the crew of the Lionhearted is less than what would normally be crewing a stock Songbird II-class. In the event that the Droid Brains were disabled or damaged, what few crew members that are on board, would have a difficult time in crewing the vessel effectively in any efficient means.

EVE Safeties Off - Due to an unfortunate side-effect, the CD-14c Gunner Droid Brains are known to develop personalities that are more antagonistic and hostile in their behavior. This can often lead to the CD-14c shutting off the safety systems that are present in the EVE Training Room, potentially harming, maiming, or otherwise killing personnel currently utilizing the Training Room.

Support - The Lionhearted was developed and produced to maintain a more supportive role than a full combat role - to this end - though it is heavily armed - it is not intended to engage in prolonged fleet battles partially due in part to its lack of crew or the difficulty in launching its Starfighter Squadron. The Lionhearted was designed and produced to provide Dauntless Commandos with a support vessel that would be capable of slipping into a system, deploying the commandos, and relying on its defenses, speed, and maneuverability to keep itself out of trouble.

Description​

It's that time of year again in the Galaxy - and as many return home to their respective Homeworlds, Invasions slow for the Winter Season, and both Factories and Codexes take a break from their hard work - many are gearing up to enjoy a Winter Holiday of their choosing. And in the Confederacy of Independent Systems, that means, Secret Santa. The Lionhearted is a unique vessel - the only of its kind - designed and manufactured for a special recipient within the Confederacy of Independent Systems which Grand Marshal Amelia von Sorenn has the privilege of providing such a fantastic gift. Focusing on the capability of the stock Songbird II-class - specifically its modularity - the Lionhearted is a heavily modified Songbird II-class Personal Luxury Yacht, and while it maintains its original Star Yacht status and role - it also serves as a Confederacy Dauntless Command vessel, capable of deploying a small handful of Dauntless Squads through the utilization of its Support Squadrons that it carries onboard in its Hanger Bay. Maintaining the bulk of what makes the Songbird II-class a reliable vessel, the Lionhearted - though not as heavily defended as a stock variant - is none the less, much more heavily armed than the standard unarmed Songbird II-class. Though it may not be as fast as a stock variant, it is capable of supporting multiple squadrons - though still focuses more on Shuttlecraft and Support Craft to ferry and deploy its contingent of Dauntless Commandos on any number of missions or raids that they may need to conduct. Lacking the Solar Sail that is prevalent among the stock variant - as it had been removed to provide room for additional weapon systems and internal capabilities - the Lionhearted still maintains its Luxury Yacht status due in part to the many amenities that it retains despite being a more combat-oriented vessel that is capable of supporting a small contingent of commandos. As the design was carried over from a stock variant - and despite its heavily armed and armored capabilities - the bridge of the Lionhearted is still exposed and highly vulnerable. Its location at the top of the vessel - located just above the Observation Deck - makes a tantalizing target, and in the unfortunate event that it should be destroyed, it would render the vessel inoperable as no backup or secondary bridge and flight controls exist. As mentioned, the Lionhearted is capable of supporting multiple Squadrons - though the location of the hanger bay still demands that the vessel utilizes Tractor Beam Projectors to properly and safely launch and retrieve Starfighters or Support Craft that it carries - as the entrance to the Hanger is nestled between the vessel's Engines. In the event that the Tractor Beam Projectors were destroyed or disabled, it would be otherwise impossible to safely land in the Hanger Bay - as the slightest miscalculation would see the approaching vessel either ram into the Lionheart's engines or end up in the engine's wake - either way, this would result in a catastrophic event. It should be noted, that like many of the vessels in more recent years manufactured and produced by Von Sorenn Industries - the Lionhearted is equipped with three GalaxyGuard Mk VIIs - which provide additional endurance and range to the vessel's Deflector Shield Generator; as well as an AR-0B Damage Reduction Armor Component - utilized to reduce harmful debris on the hull and increase the longevity of the vessel's hull plating. While its array of Astromech Slots and Droid Storage Compartments ensure that an ample supply of Droids is available - the crew itself is still minimal in number due in part to the vessel being equipped with Droid Brains which maintain and operate the bulk of the vessel's systems. In the event that these Droid Brains were to be destroyed or otherwise disabled by any means, there would not be enough crew to effectively pilot the vessel to safety. While the Lionhearted focuses on and elevates other aspects of the stock vessel, its strengths and weaknesses both contribute to the vessel's uniqueness - thus - in the spirit of this Holiday Season, the Lionhearted is a fantastic gift for the individual that is set to receive the vessel.
