BIOGRAPHY:
The Younger Years.
Rexus Arnulph Wenck was born to Gloria Wenck, and Ferall Gortarn. Rexus' birth was the result of a faulty contraceptive, and due to that, he was an unwanted child. His mother was a local escort, and his father a shipwright with a family of four. Rexus had little to no contact with his biological father, who covertly sent child support during the first three years of his life before disappearing. Hiis mother was cold and distant to him, he was a burden, and a pain. Rexus, was often left unattended while her mother entertained clients. Due to this, Rexus became an independent child, and often explored the lower class suburb of Roxborough, Avalonia he grew up in.
Rexus fell into a gang by age eight, and wandered the streets, a group of boys slightly older than himself, but who had all been through similar experiences. These boys would become the Riffs, a gang that initially spent its time shoplifting, but would eventually expand into violent crime. For Rexus, the Ruffians became a second home. Rexus began to work with the gang more and more as he grew older. Home became a place sparesly visited as his mother began a string of relationships with emotionally and physically abusive. Some were chariatable and tried to hold a relationship with the boy, but the majority most were brutes.
At age twelve the Riffs branched into robbery, and Rexus sprung that into action. As a youthful lad, Rexus' fingers and ability to apply the perfect amount pressure onto locks without breaking the picks meant that Rexus could break into nearly any items with locks attached. Rexus due to this, became a team asset, and grew to become a senior member of the gang. The Ruffians began to run riot breaking into all sorts of places. However their comeuppance came when they robbed the wrong place, and ended up pissing off the leader of a local gang, the Snaps. The Snaps and the Ruffians began a gangland war that lasted two years.
Rexus went through a lot in those two years. He got involved into countless fist fights. One of which left the thieves teeth [permanently crooked. During those two years. he had his nose broken on sixteen different occasions and was stabbed four times. Rexus kept fighting in the gang, and by age seventeen, he'd killed two men. The local authorities didn't have the resources allotted to fight crime in northern Avalonia at the time.
Dawn Of The First Order.
When the First Order took control of Avalonia, Rexus didn't notice. He and the Riffs were at war with the Fangers, a gang of middle class boys who'd cut in on the Riffs' protection racket on small businesses. Ironically, the Fangers would contain two of Rexus' future best friends, in Dergan Twigg and Zamel Gerda. For Rexus, the change in government was nothing of note until the Brodley Incident.
The Brodley Incident is fresh in the minds of many in Avalonia as the first sign the First Order was serious about cracking down on crime. Several members of the Fangers gang had been dining in the Brodley, a local diner. Twelve members of the Riffs found them, and then a fight broke out between the two. The fight went on for five minutes, in which about twenty thousand credits worth of damage to the Brodley itself and surrounding businesses. Usually, the Avalonian police force would attempt an intervention, but the fights would go on hours into the night. Within ten minutes the fight was broken up by several stormtroopers armed with riot batons.
Rexus had been one of the fights instigators, and was hit with one of the batons. He managed to escape custody when two fellow Riffs members dragged him out. For Rexus, that was the first sign that the streets were no longer theirs. The next came, when local businesses, ones which had previously found themselves too scared to fight back against the gangs who extorted them, began to call in authorities at standovers. Stormtroopers actively began to police the streets, and the Riffs found it harder to operate. For Rexus, one of the Brodley's instigators along with mang of the Riff's old guard, the writing was on the wall. Two weeks after the Brodley Incident, members of the Riff's attempted to break into an armoury. The results were deadly.
He quit the gang, and tried to start work in a legitimate business. He tired construction, hospitality and waste management but none of them worked out. He wasn't numerate, was barely literate and had an anger management problem. He was a twenty year old, with no prospects of a real career. So, what better place for a man like this than the First Imperial Army?
The 144th Garrison Legion.
When Rexus Wenck signed up to the stormtrooper corps, he was immediately sorted into a Garrison Legion. A glorified auxiliary unit that served to make up numbers rather than serve on the frontlines. While Rexus was never charged for any of the crimes he committed as a teen, he nonetheless had an extensive file of criminal accusations. Rexus, after training was completed, was put into the 144th garrison legion as a private with the serial number TF 3421. The legion was posted aboard the retribution-class star destroyer Command. The Command was an alright enough posting, but things got boring real fast.
Rexus started a weekly activity known as "Fight Night" to alleviate boredom. What initially started as a group of friends sparring, it soon turned into a bare knuckles boxing arena, where a small fortune would be made. Once a week, stormtroopers, TIE jockeys and bored naval personnel grouped together, and watched as two burly men, or women beat the ever living hell out of each other for a few hours. Rexus became one of the groups more prolific fighters, fighting at nearly every Fight Night.
Rexus' finest hour was during his first Life Day with the First Imperial Army. While the Command was out patrolling during Life Day, the men and women of the 144th celebrated with a boxing tournament. After several hours worth of matches, Rexus came up against "Bomber" Harris, a TIE Bomber pilot. The two fought in a marathon two hour bout, which ended in several broken ribs, and Harris being sent to the infirmary for two weeks. Rexus stayed three nights, and as victor, won a ten percent share of the 30’000 credits bet on him by his colleagues.
The Command docked in Avalonia two weeks later for a three day. Rexus was still riding high off of his success and went on a bender. He didn’t return to the Command. When he was meant to return to the Command, he didn’t. At first, he was assumed dead. A soldier who’d disappeared and died. The truth was far more humiliating. Two days after he was meant to return to the Command, Rexus was found, hungover in an Avalonian bordello. And that was when his short career with the 144th ended.
The Gundark Gunners.
Despite the transgression, Rexus was, well, a still capable soldier. A still able bodied man, willing to give Supreme Leader his all. He was of course court matialed, had his pay docked, and was sent to what the officers of High Command, hoped straighten any young soldier out. The reclusive and often violent purgatory of the Gundark Gunners. Rexus was sent in as a corporal, and assigned to first squadron under the platoons lieutenant, Barton Gorbets.
Rexus was hazed, as a newcomer by the unit. He was regularly beaten, abused and spat on by his peers, until he snapped. Lashing out at Lieutenant Gorberts after he’d had his bunk smeared with week old rations. Rexus beat Gorberts, and after that, he was considered one of the Gunners. There was some initial friction after Rexus came to realise Zamel Gerda, and Dergan Twigg, two men whom Twigg had fought as apart of the Riff-Fanger War. Barton deliberately put the three on shifts together, and after a few scuffles, the trio came out of the experience with a new, healthy respect for each other.
The Gunners at the time were posted in rural Dosuun, maintaining small weapons caches and armouries. The shifts were long and hard in the summer, but the proximity to town, wenches and distilleries meant that Rexus was the happiest he’d ever been as a Stormtrooper. His diligence in his role meant that he soon was promoted to sergeant. All was good until Effekt.
Effekt was where Rexus and the rest of the Gundark Gunners began to know the meaning of real pain. As apart of a prank to be pulled on their senile colonel, lieutenant Barton along with Rexus, Twigg, Arytom “Arry” Jarjoravid, and Vera “Kicks” Shannersy decided to flood their colonel’s room with sewerage that had been collected in the bases septic tank. The team sabotaged it, but did it to the wrong room, instead managing to sabotage the bathroom of Marshal Cortez. Cortez, a hard man with years of military experience did not take too well to having his bathroom sabotaged, went on a rampage.
Several privates, fearing the retribution of an irate officer, snitched on the group. The Marshal, learning the identity of the group decided to punish the Gundark Gunners as a whole, by deploying them to a burgeoning war zone on Zarnathea.
The Zarnathean Campaign.
Zarnathea was a planet torn apart by war at the time. The ruling Nar’in group were suffering attacks from their less than civilised Vax cousins. The First Order had deployed armies to the system in order to restore the government to full efficiency. The Gundark Gunners and the remainder of the 253rd Garrison Legion were deployed to make up numbers, and enforce security protocols on the Nar’iin capitol of Nar’Tan.
As apart of this process, Rexus oversaw the overhaul of the Nar’Tan State University as a First Order forward command post. Rexus took control of assisting the logistical effort of deploying a Stormtrooper legion. Rexus however was promoted twelve hours into the assignment after Lieutenant Gorberts was killed by a drive by Vax shooting during a standard traffic stop.
Rexus felt he wasn’t ready for that. He didn’t at all expect to have been thrown from a newbie sergeant, to lieutenant of a platoon within six months. For Rexus, it was a staggering experience. But with the support of his fellow sergeants, Rexus was somewhat confident. Though he was yet to find a groove.
Rexus would find that groove with the help of Asharard Graush. Graush and the White Wolves legion were the First Orders premier military unit, and had been deployed to Zarnathea to assist in resolving the situation. When a Vax terrorist cell had been reported in Nar’Tan’s market district, Graush deployed a platoon of his own White Wolves and the Gundark Gunners to dislodge the enemy.
The Gunners and Wolves found themselves caught in a Vax trap, and soon were under siege, beig attacked from all sides by a persistent enemy. Rexus and the Gunners distinguished themselves, assisting the White Wolves in courageously breaking out of the enemy and squashing their resistance. Although the Gunners lost close to a third of their platoon to injury and attack, but they were victorious.
Rexus was awarded the Iron Sun first class and given the distinct honour of being a White Wolf. The Gundark Gunners had now ascended their former title, of being the First Order’s worst, and now served with their best.
Lieutenant Of The White Wolves.
In their new capacity the Gundark Gunners were now frontline troops, serving in the expansion of the First Order. Under Colonel Graush’s watchful eye, Rexus blossomed into something better than what he was. The Gundark Gunners evolved from a pack of drunken Stormtroopers to a platoon of the First Order’s finest drunkards.
Rexus lead the Gundark Gunners on a number of important missions, from the storming of rebel bunkers to the repelling of an invasion from beyond the Unknown Regions, Rexus saw it all.
Rexus found himself newly motivated. The men and women under his command relied on him, as he equally relied on them for support. Knowing that he had the support of all his subordinates, Rexus has served the Order as best as he can.
