The Cinder Hierophant
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
When Venn first recruited the young and ambitious from the ranks of the Corellian Disciples biker gang, his followers consisted of a single mass of killers. As Venn's influence grew over time, so too did the need for organization. This lead to the foundation of a new hitsquad. This group of killers would be named for the Maalraas; a predator native to Venn's home planet of Onderon. Not the largest or most intimidating predator in their biosphere, these pack hunters use stealth and numbers to overwhelm their prey, striking with speed from the shadows. Venn found the parallel fitting.
(It should be noted that Venn imports trained Maalraas from Onderon as guard beasts, but these beasts are not given to the Maal Riders, as the bikers are not animal handlers. Additionally, the Maal Riders do not actually ride Maalraas, as the predator is too small to carry anything larger than an Ugnaught for an extended period of time.)
- Intent: To codify Venn Kolis' personal hit-squad and first soldiers.

- Unit Name: The Maal Riders
- Affiliation: Venn Kolis, Darth Maliphant, The Sith Eternal, The Sith Order
- Classification: Mounted Harrying Shock Troops
- Description: Masters of the surprise attack, these speedbikers utilize a blistering hit-and-run tactic to wear down enemy morale and eliminate soft targets. Though lightly armored and quick to flee from a direct confrontation, be on your guard should they ever show themselves; any fight the Riders start is one they're certain they will win.
- Unit Size: Small
- Unit Availability: Uncommon
- Unit Experience: Recruit
- Equipment:
- "Emeici" Speeder Bikes, which can be fitted with flamethrowers or rotary blaster cannons, as well as bomblets and micromissiles.
- Judicator Blaster Rifles. Highly modular, transforming a Maal Rider into a high-speed mobile sniper platform.
- SIF-57 Blaster Pistols. Standard sidearms with high ammo capacity. Charric shots are useful against lightsabers.
- Durasteel flight helmets with standard tactical HUD.
- Light armor, consisting of an armorweave vest underneath a flight jacket, and plasteel greaves over standard legwear.
- Combat Function: These high-speed drive-by shooters are not renowned for their exceptional strength or courage. Their specialty is a fast surprise attack on an unsuspecting soft target. When working in tandem with a larger strike force, they serve as a bombastic distraction, dangerous scouts, or mobile snipers.
- Force Abilities: None. The Maal Riders do not recruit Force Users.
- Calling All Punks: The Riders are made up of largely ex-gang members, and are efficient at navigating the criminal underworld. When your demographic is young gearhead outlaws, you can always find more recruits.
- Eternal Loyalty: As a sect of the Sith Eternal, the Maal Riders are fiercely loyal and difficult to buy or blackmail, despite their usually-criminal backgrounds. They fight with the religious zeal of cultists and the intensity of martyrs.
- One out of Millions: In a galaxy of trillions of sentients, the nondescript uniform of the Maal Rider is virtually unrecognizable, given the size of their unit and their tendency to leave no witnesses. A Rider can go most places on assignment without drawing attention; he just looks like one more gunslinger in a sea of mercenaries.
- Run Away!: This unit is comprised of lightly armored troopers riding lightly armored bikes; they will not excel in a direct engagement with heavy infantry.
- Not My Bike!: Without his high-speed mobile weapons platform, a Maal Rider is essentially a Sith cultist moonlighting as a light infantryman. Yawn. In addition, the Riders are universally fond of their highly personalized speeders, and can lose their cool if the vehicle is disrespected or destroyed.
- Boys and their Toys: Much like Force Sensitives, female cultists are viewed by Kolis as far too versatile and rare for their potential to be wasted in the Maal Riders. As a consequence the unit is, as a rule, entirely male. Combine with this their low average age, and you get a crowd of young men, all religious zealots, with guns and bikes. They are
absolute maniacsoften brazen and rash to a fault.
